Cracking build Sully! I learned some great weathering techniques watching your video. Thanks for making this!
Fantastic build. Stunning result.
Working on my Gannet and your insights on this superb kit are very helpful.
That's a cracking build. I'm very familiar with XA459 as I've kept my aircraft in the hangar next door (now in the new black hangar) at White Waltham for many years. The Gannet's now in the museum at Carlisle where it has at last been nicely restored. XA459 was in pretty poor condition on arrival at WW, your model very accurately replicates her even more forlorn state towards the end of her tenure. I climbed up to reposition the cursory blue tarps over the broken canopies a few times. Someone gave her a pressure wash a few years ago and intimated that restoration was imminent, alas it never happened. I've got a soft spot for Gannets since I sat in XA460 when I was a nipper, at a college in N Wales. I once made the Novo kit into a model of one of the trainer prototypes. Gannets were assembled and first flown at White Waltham, where I've been flying for over 50 years. Thanks for your efforts!
Absolutely great build 👍👍👍
Dang man. I’m just not an Airfix fan, and few planes make me yawn like a Gannet. But I have to hand it to you, very interesting and very creative. You skills from basic construction to the weathering (and you add a whole new definition of “weathering”) are remarkable.
Beautiful replication of the sad state of many classic airframes rotting in yards across the UK, some even in museums. Happily there are some still out there being maintained
Tanks!! This one has recently since been restored with new canopys and paint job but still outside lol
Nice build
Excellent work. Got ya subbed. Model on.👍
Some Aircraft Modellers "People do too much weathering these days"

Brilliant Job Sully :)
Clever bloke. Looks really great and a very interesting alternative to the norm. Loved watching this video. 👍
Bloody awesome Sully!! I'm gonna link this build in my build of this kit!!
@@NigelsModellingBench thanks dude
Very nice. May I suggest the tires should be a lot flatter looking given the neglected state of the rest?
Beautiful weathering and general destruction. I'm saving this one for my build. Thanks
very nice build again as usual!
Fantastic build Sully. Well done mate.
Great video really liked the weathering effects
Superb weathering. Really like how this came out!
Brilliant job Sime. Looks amazing!
Very nice job, sir! For years I’ve been wanting to build a heavily weathered abandoned/derelict aircraft diorama like this and I think watching you just gave me some inspiration! 👍😉
Go for it dude!
Absolutely superb. Well done mate.
Awesomly done!
Wow! Absolutely superb. I can almost small the moss! Love the rachet strap and rope. Amazing.
Excellent work sir 👍 looks a most pleasant model.

Sweet build dude!
Man, that is some ultra realistic weathering, brilliant job!
Another level, well done.
Bloody brilliant
Mate what a Cracking job you've done their
As I have mentioned already, this looks great, and as I am making an E-100 abandoned in a lake, the moss deposits will help for sure,I just have a little question, could you give me a question for my Q&A I am planning, fine if you don't just would love some questions! :) Thanks for the work Sully!
Brilliant job mate great effects don’t be so hard on yourself, I think it looks the dogs!!!, nice job my modelling friend👍
Thanks dude!
That is amazing 😀
Professional 👍
Great video, brilliant build. Keep up the good work Sully 👍
Man, you speed-tooled that horizontal stabilizer like a pro.
Yet another amazing wrecks & relics build. I love these more than the usual pristine or weathered builds we normally see on youtube.
Thanks dude! Iv done a few of these recently so i need to do some more ‘normal’ builds lol but with weathering obvusley 😁
Brilliant work, its great to see a different take on building a model and adding your own pieces to change the look of the conventional kit.
Brilliant!!!!!
Bloody marvellous work Sully! The dirtying down is another level and as for jury rigging it with a ratchet strap... my word! Fab-u-lous!!
Amazing detail on this build ,how you have the patience and dexterity to build like this is brilliant.
Brilliant work Sully! Very enjoyable video with many tips. Thanks!
What a fantastic idea to do an abandoned aircraft, the result is excellent! I think it really deserves a diorama to sit in and really bring it to life maybe consider a follow on project for that?
Massive build mate!
Mind blown! I am massively impressed! I could go on for days about what I love about the detailing and the realism.
Does remind me very much of the very rusted, very forlorn-looking Gannet which was, until quite recently, languishing in between the hangars at White Waltham Airfield (in fact, the plane in the reference photos looks very much like that p-articular Gannet). Impressive work!
It should do lol that is the one in the same
New to your channel...amazing build will be following along from now on.
Jeez man I feel like I'm on drugs watching this. Order of magnitude in imagination and skill over any other modelling channel I've seen 😨. Respect!
Thanks dude😁hope the come down isnt to brutal to you
Hi Sully, that build wzs absolutely outstanding, it is probably a lot harder to build a 'wrecked' aircraft, that a 'in use' aircraft, congratulations on this outstanding build, bedt regards from a Kiwi living in Australia
Stunning work. Absolutely inspiring!
Absolutely superb mate keep doing what you do it's fantastic
Something different completely. Excellent approach that makes this model build stand out! Nice job 💥👍💥
Crazy skills ❤️
Great work! It takes a lot of talent to pass off grime👍
Thank you really enjoy these sorts of builds i git plans for a tank along the same lines
Great job on the model 😄 keep going
That looks absolutely amazing, well done 👍🏼
Top job.
Magnificent!
I'd love to see how you tackle one of those Defiants that seem to be shedding their skin.
Really like these abandoned builds. Can't believe this is a airfix kit.
I did forget a couple of times lol
This is one of your best models ever! I love seeing how much you've grown as a modeller and content creator!
Thank you so much 😀
That is just amazing well done,I wish I had that skill 👍🇬🇧
Heard about this on a podcast and wowzer, this is a stunning job. Really looks the part and impressive weathering and decay
Thanks! What podcast was this please?
@@SullysScaleModels Plastic Posse Podcast.
I love what you did! A little base with some grasses and moss would go well with it.
BRILLIANT
Talk about weathering🥳
Nice one Scully some great tips fabo detail lve just purchased one.😊
I don’t really have any words mate, the Seaking was a triumph, this beats that hands down so only the modelling gods know what you are going to knock out the park next, really top quality work 👍
Something a lot more simpler than this lol someone suggested this but in armour so that's now on the books for the near future
Nice Work Sully, I've been watching the work come along on this one over instagram, I like the work on the damaged wing and the paint fading, all round another great looking build!
The sort of finish I aspire to. Seriously, I just might as well give up.
Honstly mate its easy it takes abit of time to get right or some times its getting what works for you! With this one i had no idea how this was going to work out as i havnt done this before but you just need to jump in and just do it. What you need is a scrap model to try it on!. Im going to try do a video on this one next week or so. Keep trying my dude theres still people now i feel the same way
Another great build mate. Quite how you havent got 20 or 30k subs is beyond me
I dunno lol one day maybe!
I like it. An excellent rendition of the ex White Waltham Gannet. Knew her well about 14 years ago.
Wow! What an incredible build! Could you try tackling World War Toons tanks please?
Wow - stunning Sully, I personally I don’t like the look of the Ganit but you’ve made a fantastic job of this.
I’m not actually an aircraft builder, I mainly do armour, and maybe it was the distressed and abandoned look that caught my eye originally.
But I really enjoyed this build and think you’ve done an amazing job on it, to the point, I’m almost tempted to try this aircraft one day. Congratulations on a great job, I shall be watching from now on.
All the best, paul
Thanks mate! Really appreciate that and for someone to enjoy a subject they're not into! I do armour as well and I plan in the near future to do armour like this
Brilliant
A few decades back there was a gannett in somebodies property that you could see from the road in Dorset I think ..pretty much looking the same only the wings looked like they had been removed !
