About 10 years ago we had the opportunity to take a 4 day vacation at WDW. I had a bit of a panic attack when i heard the price for the hotel and meal plan at one of their "economy" hotels. I think at that time it was more than any of the cars i had purchased in my life. It took a little bit of meditation, lots of deep breathing exercises, hugs and prayers to get me past the shock and it's more now. Dont know if I'll ever go back when i think of the price and what else we can use it for if we could save it up. Love the t-shirt! Go to the Food area just outside of Universal studios, no admission fee and lots of choices if you're just going for food. Chocolate Emporium...yum!
Pro tip: if you're looking for a ride you can repeat once you get bored or tired of standing in 2+ hour lines, try Pirates of the Caribbean. Mind you, it's been eons since I was at any Disney park, but the last time or two we went I'd take my kid siblings and we'd go default to POTC while everyone else did whatever. The line actually moves, and the ride is long and indoors and thus nice and cool between the line-standing sections.
Dollywood best amusement park, confirmed XD That was my home turf right there, y’all!! Smoky mountains. Season passes. Every summer-christmas. Hella good times!!
At least they're south-enough to VISIT the place whenever they feel up to it. Kind of like being a New Yorker and not really paying attention to that tall green statue just off the coast.
Only done DizzyWorld twice, 2nd time had the best sea bass (not a connoisseur, originally midwest and if doesn't moo we don't know what to do, how to cook etc.). Sadly a physician extremely allergic to something died from eating at a fine establishment there. Matt, you and crew are a treasure, from your Yankee pal~
Love the Dolly commentary! So I’ve been to Disney World a few times. Once when I was 3 and remember nothing. Again when I was around 10 and my dad’s company did a conference there. We got an all-access pass, a three-day stay at The Grand Floridian, and a park-hopper for two days at the parks. That was awesome! Then we went on our own dime when I was 12, 14, and 15 and we realized that if we stayed in a non-resort hotel and only had one meal at the nice theme park restaurants we could do Disney World for about $400 less. But the real break-through came when we realized we could have an entire day at Disney Springs and do everything we did at the parks except the rides. Great restaurants. Great entertainment. All the same shops. The huge gaming center. And the movie theatre that had bowling! Thus it became a tradition to go to Disney Springs for my birthday. Including gas, spending cash, food, and a theater ticket or performance ticket, it typically costs about $700. The most expensive thing is always the meals. And last time we were there (2017) we discovered something else… you are totally allowed to enter a theme park without paying for a ticket if you’re only going to shop. We did this for one of the parks that has a big shopping center just inside the main gate. It was like a big circle of stores. They didn’t stamp our hand or anything. They just told us we would be detained if we tried to enter the second main gate and would be forced to pay for a full-price park ticket for each member of the group. I haven’t been back since before the world went on lockdown. Hoping to go this year. Curious to see if all the perks are the same or if they’ve made more rules.
I just lost it watching Sven's head go flying from the top of that sipper. lol! As a former passholder who lives in Alabama, this is SPOT ON. That said, you can go wrong at Casey's. Get Portillo's delivered to the hotel instead, if you want a hot dog. The onion rings are amazing. Don't forget the chocolate cake. Even better, get the chocolate cake shake. (It's an entire slice of their chocolate cake mixed into a milkshake.) I know you're not a fan of Chicago dogs, but you can order the without all that on there if you want. Also, don't forget the Dole Whip. Better MK people watching spot is a window seat in the (not so) secret upstairs of Columbia Harbor House. Because air conditioning.
Went to Disney World several years ago, but it was as part of my high school choir that got selected to sing at the Candlelight festival right around Christmas time. Still had to pay for the trip, but it was a lot of fun to sing alongside the professionals at Epcot, and it was interesting to see a tiny fraction of what goes on behind the scenes. At the end, they gave all of the students special edition Mickey Mouse hats that only the students participating in the Candlelight festival get. It was honestly really fun and a very magical experience. Sorry for the wall of text. This video just got me reminiscing.
Was at Disney last week and they kept telling us they were going to shut down the trams to our cars at 11:00...when there were still a ton of people trying to get on the monorail. I very loudly announced that Dolly would NEVER let that happen. We did get a tram to the car at like midnight and got to see a fight in the process.
Wow, talk about ruining an 'experience'! Had a great day in the park, and then... but everyone knows just because shop is closed never means work is over. In this case, it ain't over until the fat lady sings on the Monorail eh?!!
What's the weirdest song Dolly ever wrote. I think it's "Robert". It's a wild ride in just a couple of minutes. Absolutely clear why it was never on the radio.
Yes, 'It's a Small World' was stuck in my head for awhile after my trip in October. That, and "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow", and "Yo Ho A Pirates Life For Me". They kind of alternated
I went to Disney world one when I was 11. It was late January and the best thing I had experienced in my short little life. We ran around in shorts and went on whatever that water raft ride was about 10 times in a row, being the only people that wanted to possibly get wet in 60/70° weather. It was 20° back home, so of course we didn't mind! Thunder Mountain only had maybe 5 people in line too. I've haven't been to anything Disney run since then, but just seeing videos of how crowded it gets makes my social anxiety go through the roof! Glad I had the chance when I was little. I'll never go now!
Couldn't agree more with the "Most Expensive Day Ever" shirt. At one point it was sort of worth it. These days Disney anything is a colossal waste of money.
I love the line for "we come here every August to train for school" looking back at my school years, yeah, going to a theme park is just like going to school. Lol. Matt, you are a hilarious guy and I thank you for making me laugh. I haven't seen all your videos, but if you have any that involves the mid west or the southwest such as southerners describing the food in these locations, I would live to see and hear them. Thank you again for the laugh.
Matt’s Disney Facts are in fact, facts. We let go of our DVC, Disney + and Disney Chase Visa last year. We drew a line in the sand and they crossed it. But I do appreciate the humor as one who did drink the Kool-aid.
As someone who lived 45 minutes from Six Flags for most of my life and had seasons passes most years, and now live an hour from Disney, I would rather go to Disney. Six flags, it was hit all of the roller coasters and the log flume and leave. Max time in the park was 4 hours. Disney, I will ride 85% of the rides (as long as they don't spin). Normally there 8 hours on a day visit.
I don't remember Missouri being a southern state but when my grandparents to my family to Branson it was apparently so fun that we had to go twice. Tbf, we missed the cave tour the first time around which my brother wanted to see so there's that. I also managed to get alot of fossil Pokemon in Pokemon Go caught and evolved while there too.
100% agree, plus it’s dry then 😊 Pro tip though for traveling with littles during the hotter months : suck it up and get a hotel room- on property is best. The All Star hotels aren’t as much. Get up early and eat at your hotel since there aren’t many quick breakfasts in the parks. We bring something with us to save $ and time, plus you can get into the parks early if you’re a guest. Then visit the park until early afternoon when it gets crazy hot, have an early lunch or snack in the park to avoid lunchtime lines, go back to the hotel to swim or nap through the afternoon then go back to the park in the evening. If you want to eat a proper sit down meal on the property ALWAYS make reservations ahead. I’ve always lived within a two hour drive of Disney World. We used to go a lot when our kids were younger and it was great. Now, not so much. Too spendy, you can hardly get through the lines unless you pay for a fast pass, the food hasn’t been especially good in years and they’ve lost their focus on quality, wholesome entertainment for children. It’s sad.
LMAO!!! This is SO true! I live near Disney, and it's ridiculous. BTW LOVE the shirt with the "Most Expensive Ever". I gotta get one of those, because I will surely wear it there. Thanks for the laughs!

Union workers scheduled few enough hours so as not to qualify for their benefits as promised when hired a solid for starts. A well known dirty corporate trick (oh they love it, but on the worker's side, not so much.). I’ve only ever been to Disney Land in California. In the 60’s. I have a real problem with the cost, the crowds and the heat, so we have never been. Our daughter went to Alton Towers (the British version) when we were stationed in England. She loved that but now she’s as theme park phobic as I am. Although the one in Japan sounds nice. Matt is so funny but I don’t think I’ll ever go. I’d rather spend the money on a cool trip to somewhere interesting.
Ok do not get me started....Florida native here speaking...we live a few minutes to Disney main gate and laugh all the time when we read real estate listing that say just minutes to main gate and you find the house is about 3 counties away😂😂😂!!! I just do jot get it. Having been one of the first familes to go to Disney World and having many family membrrs work there the dream gloss has worn very very thin. Mr. Walt Disney had a wonderful vision that has now turn this area of Florida into a vast wasteland nightmare. The mouse is dead to me.😮
They didn't specify HOW many minutes. Anything to make the listing sound better. Example: Here where I live: River front property on the Shade River! The Shade River is about 50 feet wide at most and maybe 20 feet deep, but that's only during a flash flood.😂
So I could sell my place with that tagline. There is some land inbetween, and bit of sea or multiple bits... But hey minutes away still. If you count minutes in thousands.
Nothing served at Disney is better than Buc-ees. The “3-meat sandwich” and ”Sausage on a stick” will NEVER let you down. And cost much less than Disney food.
I've never been to any Disney park, but honestly it sounds like more trouble than it's worth. Not to mention a lot more money than it's probably worth.
Yeah going to one is not on any list of mine to do ever. Especially considering that they have gone off the rails when it comes to their politics and ideals they try to teach kids to ones which are disgusting. I'd rather go to Dollywood, or literally almost any other amusement park.
Yeah genie+ is why we never rescheduled our planned 2020 trip to disney. We went to a local park instead for about a 10th of the price... 10 days of holiday world for 4 people including everything $1600. 10 days of disney.... I don't want to know...
I went to Disney when I was about 6, I think. That’s was 40+ yrs ago. I always wanted to go back until I saw this. It sounds like a crappy version of what it used to be. The prices sound crazy. Wicked funny, & thanks for the heads up. The Disney I remember is obviously gone. Zero interest in going now.
The last time I went to Disney was when my Grandfather could get me in for Free(when he was a private contractor for Disney). I have yet to ever go back. It costs way too much and I do not make enough to even go for one day on the special residents discount. Plus the food prices at these places are insane. For one meal there I could eat an entire week at home. No thanks.
Michigander here. You ain't lyin' when you said it's a different kind of hot. I thought I was dieing. AND I was staying in a tent. Florida in June was no joke.
@dawnreneegmail yeah, a tent. Had to buy a fan when we were there too. My son insisted that his husky mix come with us too. She had heat stroke. I never want to see a dog go thru that torture again. She spent hours in the State Park showers keeping her cooled off.
now we need to hunt down the dollar general in disney world, because everyone knows they either buy there products from one or their is one secretly built in disney world, but its covered by all that disney goodness🤣🤣
The last time I was there was for the high school band trip my junior year (1986), where we marched in the parade. It cooked my feet and I haven't been interested in going back 🤣
I took my bf down to see all four Disney parks last year because he'd never been. It was the end of October, still 90F, 100% humidity. Everything was expensive and mediocre and dirty (which was weird because I went there right before the rona happened, and it'd been very clean). Even the food was super meh. Genie+ was also so stupid. We had fun, especially at Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, but the only reason that trip had been "affordable" was because I have family in Orlando and we stayed at their house.

Moral of this overly long comment: Save up and go visit Japan and just make Disney a small side trip. Then you get to experience and absolutely amazing country while you're at it.
Yeah, if I were to EVER go to Disney, it would be somewhere like Japan.
But I'm still not planning on doing that.
Hell, I feel like a trip to japan to go to a Disney park would still be cheaper than Florida or California.
“Seems like a lot of drinking but we are LSU fans”!! So tru. Louisiana toasts you buddy lol
Oh the mind of Matt Mitchell. Always makes me laugh and is always spot on.
ditto!
The people watch rating system is so true! I go for the food, too! Also, totally agree with the Genie plus stuff! 🤣
Skipping the gumbo for obvious reasons! 🤣🤣🤣. The SEC jokes were great. Thanks for a good laugh!
I thought he said Dumbo because he's an elephant🤔😆
Matt you are the best. Thank you for the chuckle 😁
I'm not southern but I sure feel a connection to that guy complaining about how much everything costs.
The joke about the "Fancy" song being replaced by "It's a Small World" as the new earworm is the funniest joke I've heard in a VERY long time!!!
Dollywood best amusement park, confirmed XD
That was my home turf right there, y’all!! Smoky mountains. Season passes. Every summer-christmas. Hella good times!!
I'm 70, love Dolly (not a C&W fan, but Dolly is FAB!) so I gotta go.
At least they're south-enough to VISIT the place whenever they feel up to it. Kind of like being a New Yorker and not really paying attention to that tall green statue just off the coast.
"I'm here for the food" 😅😂😅 i am that person 😂😂😂
Curious to see if all the perks are the same or if they’ve made more rules.
great info!
My fave fireworks spot is watching them on Big Thunder Mountain!
This video just got me reminiscing.
now I know what to call my commentary rant: WALL OF TEXT,... thank you
"The Chief of Police throwing candy at you from a seized Ford Mustang". I almost spit out my Dollar General iced tea!!
The punch at the end has me rolling! That was hilarious:)
OMG 😂 He punched it and the head flew off 🤣
As a Canadian this is one of the first thing that comes to mind $800USD = $1070.68CAD. All of it just a waste of money.
SOOO true! Disney is just out of hand. Dollywood is just as beautiful, way cheaper, better rides, and MUCH better customer service!
Wow, talk about ruining an 'experience'! Had a great day in the park, and then... but everyone knows just because shop is closed never means work is over. In this case, it ain't over until the fat lady sings on the Monorail eh?!!
Love the LSU shout out lol! Louisiana knows how to drink
"Most expensive day, ever"!😂
Most honest comparison to back to school I’ve seen😂
What's the weirdest song Dolly ever wrote. I think it's "Robert". It's a wild ride in just a couple of minutes. Absolutely clear why it was never on the radio.
I love your stuff it makes me smile and laugh ty
I'm so glad pretty much the entire video was about how expensive everything is, because it is MORE than true. It's ridiculous. 😂👌
Not going on the Dumbo ride for obvious reasons.
Killed me, 🤣🤣🤣
Couldn't agree more with the "Most Expensive Day Ever" shirt. At one point it was sort of worth it. These days Disney anything is a colossal waste of money.
I also love your videos matt especially your SEC shorts there so funny 😂😂
NCAA football starts August 26! Go Vols!
Yup, I own a Silhouette machine, and yes, I made that exact same shirt for my husband on our Disney trip 5 years ago. He loved that shirt.

But I do appreciate the humor as one who did drink the Kool-aid.
hey, anyone can get sucked into a giant vortex, ... but somehow you made it out and we welcome ya~
Respect to you
I love your videos. It must be awesome to make people laugh and forget their problems for a few minutes. ❤
He doesn't have to curse to make things funny.
Yankee fan having lived in the South 3 years and he is just precious!!@@janejones7638
I never understood the reason to go spend a mortgage on what I can get at Six Flags or Silver Dollar City.
The only time to go to Disney World is in the winter when it’s not 1,000,000 degrees outside.
On a weekday. Never a weekend.
Winter? You mean those 3 days in March?
No, January. It’s already too hot by March.
We like early February. Although it can get stupid cold for rides. Pack layers.
100% agree, plus it’s dry then 😊
Pro tip though for traveling with littles during the hotter months : suck it up and get a hotel room- on property is best.
Imagine the things you'd find in random boxes on the wrong aisle at the Disney World Dollar General 😂
🤣🤣
I love that it says "southerners go to Disney World..." Cause Florida is so south it's north again.
Engine block covered in kudzu 😂. Sounds like my neighborhood lol
As an LSU fan, can confirm.
I’m gonna need a part 2 to this one. This was all on point!! (And I’m not from the south or even the US).
As a reformed Disneyphile, this was spectacular! (And I want that sipper!)
I missed so much of the inside humor because I’ve never been to Disneyland, but the bbq from a mile away line cracked me up 🤣I can relate to that one(Texas)
It’s Disney WORLD. Lol (*sorry had to be that person) 😅
I think the only thing you missed Matt was the mass of tour groups all following someone carrying a flag.
And blocking the entire walkway when they sit down for lunch or a snack. 🤬
If you told me people from Brazil travel in groups of less than 30 I would not believe it :)
@@AD-on3zxAnd they're all the entitled rich kids of Brazil. From what I've seen, they treat the Disney employees like crap. I heard a bunch of Brazilian tourists beat up a Donald one time.
I couldn’t believe the hundreds of Brazilians following some kid with a flag all dressed the same. Boggled my mind.
Also very applicable to Disneyland in Southern California. I was just there recently.
Was it empty?
@@lorireed8046 Nope, very packed. It's SoCal and Disneyland, always packed with visitors to the delight of Disney & Co.
Just avoid all the homeless on crack in Anaheim...
@@machinesofgod Well Florida wasn't and they get international more so ... Sooo it's just the dumb people in Cali.
Southern California here, Diz and what it has done (not to) with the city of Anaheim is a crime. Union workers scheduled few enough hours so as not to qualify for their benefits as promised when hired a solid for starts. A well known dirty corporate trick (oh they love it, but on the worker's side, not so much.).
LATimes is my source as I live south of LA, Disney is a shadow of what Walt envisioned that had it stayed on track could have been Knotts Berry Farm. The under-current of classism that is Disney incorporated is galling.
I went in ‘75 and again in ‘97
I’m sure if I were to go again I would be thoroughly disgusted. I’ll just go to Buccee’s 🤣
So true! The worst part is that people finance these trips, lol! Just say no to Disney!😂😂
Its not difficult and not as expensive as you want to think it is especially for one person.
Agreed. Never been and don't ever want to go.
@@chrisb3976Disney is still very expensive for more than one person
@@ChibiPanda8888 my mom took me to Disney Land for my tenth birthday. I wanted to go camping instead, but we went to Disney Land instead. I never went back. That place sucked.
The stress of a Disney vacation nearly killed me…
no joke, while your child's school chums brag it up and you've yet to go. I feel ya sister.
THIS IS MY NEW FAVORITE VIDEO ON THE ENTIRE PLANET! I am a huge Disney adult and even did the Disney College Program last august until this January! I got to work at a bunch of the restaurants including Gastons which has the amazing cinnamon rolls
Is it just me, or does anyone else feel major anxiety? I think there absolutely should be a "Disney Vacation Club support group"
I go easy on the rides because I'm afraid of heights. I go easy on the food because I'm afraid of widths. 😇
🤣
Everyone at Disney: matching Disney outfits
My family at Disney: matching LSU outfits
💜💛💜💛 GEAUX TIGERS 💜💛💜💛
Yep and Geaux Tigers
Its hilarious in a pathetic way when cheap deadbeats make excuses for being selfish
yeah Bob Iger needs our hard earned bux... ack don't get me started.
Yeah going to one is not on any list of mine to do ever. Especially considering that they have gone off the rails when it comes to their politics and ideals they try to teach kids to ones which are disgusting. I'd rather go to Dollywood, or literally almost any other amusement park.
As a true blue Ohio yankee , I don’t know why I keep watching these videos but they’re hilarious!
Cause you're smart and you've got good taste.
You punching the Sven cup at the end is where I lost it! XD
Yeah genie+ is why we never rescheduled our planned 2020 trip to disney. We went to a local park instead for about a 10th of the price... 10 days of holiday world for 4 people including everything $1600. 10 days of disney.... I don't want to know...
😂 not only when southerners go to Disneyworld. Northern New Jerseyians too lol 🤣 @ Disney Vacation Club
Welcome Home...
The pay to drive on the interstate, only to pay for parking, so you can pay to get in, hurt my soul as a Floridian.
Zero interest in going now.
can you belive it cost $3.95 to get in when disney opened? tickets were from .10 to a buck for an "E" ticket. I miss those days.
$3.95 in 1973 is only $27.27 in 2023 with inflation!
As long as stupid people will pay the ridiculous prices, they will keep increasing them!
@@LukeMaps but rides were all ala carte.
It’s $109 per person per day per park now the crap! There having a sale on now though but it ends on sept 28th 2023
I went to Universal Studios in March once and that was enough for me. Don't really have much interest in going back to Florida.
A TENT?! gosh no!
@dawnreneegmail yeah, a tent. Had to buy a fan when we were there too. My son insisted that his husky mix come with us too. She had heat stroke. I never want to see a dog go thru that torture again. She spent hours in the State Park showers keeping her cooled off.
@@shellygenter8585 wow, my dog would be a top concern as well🐕🐩🐕🦺🦮
Make 2 shirts and a few mugs and That Cricut has paid for itself.
Every. Word. Is. True.
Matt....pure genius comedy.
Loved the Auburn vs Alabama rivalry representation! 😂😂😂 I don’t care either way. I'm a almost nonexistent Arkansas Razorback fan... Woo Pig Sooie! 🐗
Went to Disney World for senior trip 1992.
The Wheel of Progress ride broke down while we were on it.....😂
So, it was just a Wheel?
"But we are LSU fans" is classic! And I say that as a native of Baton Rouge and an LSU grad...
One Dollar and 4 empty coke cans. LOL. That is right though. Really enjoy your skits.
2:01 you got that song stuck in my head again gosh dang it
Every time we drive to Disney World, we always have to stop at Buc-ees at least four times.
now we need to hunt down the dollar general in disney world, because everyone knows they either buy there products from one or their is one secretly built in disney world, but its covered by all that disney goodness🤣🤣
There*
OMFG…as an LSU alum, I was thinking the exact same thing!! 😂😂
Trying to remember the last time a was mad enough to punch my drink lol!!❤️🤗🐝
Yes I did buy my wife a cricuit, lol. Really enjoy your videos. Almost makes me miss Louisiana. Almost.
The last time I was there was for the high school band trip my junior year (1986), where we marched in the parade. It cooked my feet and I haven't been interested in going back 🤣
There's gotta be a Dollar General in here!!!!! Priceless!!!!
