This was a place that had been doing it for a long time, and must have focused purely on the food. We got the brisket, naturally. I took my first bite, and tasted it. Savored it. Yes on the cinder blocks. When we bought our house there they were in the back yard all neatly stacked. God bless those Southern Welcome Wagon folks :)) They came in real handy to fill the holes one of our dogs dug to get under the fence and into the neighbor's yard.
Congrats on half a million subs and thank you for your kind words for Dolly. I've decided she's a little dynamo of love and goodwill on platform heels. She is a national treasure with an endless supply of kindness.
LOL. I had to laugh and look out of the window to the backyard where there are indeed a stack of blocks. I don't know where I got them or what I got them for, but I keep them just in case.
When he mentioned the part about the random cinder blocks at our house and them probably holding down a blue plastic tarp at some point... I felt that. 🙋♀
He got me, right through the heart, with that comment about cinder blocks. And it's true. I don't have a clue as to when, how, what, where or who got them. All I know is it wasn't me!
Lived there for 38 years. Never knew how long my drive would be so...go to the rest room, get snack, and at least half a tank of gas before I left the house!
I was a firefighter/paramedic stationed at the junction, Company 19. We had a museum of hood ornaments and unusual car parts like from Ferraris, etc collected from all the crashes we responded to.
Long live Dolly Parton! One amazing lady. Great video! Well you probably should have mentioned Mike the LSU tiger. Ole Mike has his very own humungous multi million dollar compound. Quite impressive.
The first concert my MomCat ever took me to was a Kenny Rogers set. When Dolly Parton walked onstage, the crowd erupted in cheers louder than they had for Kenny. I didn't understand then, but I do now. She is one of the finest humans on the planet.
Here in New Jersey, there's a small catering company by me that took four cinder blocks, stood them up on their sides and put wood beams in-between the openings to make a bench for the workers to sit under the trees.
I have a nice collection of cinder blocks that I use like legos to build all kinds of useful things. Temporary structures - rose beds, then the roses die. Raccoon proof cat feeders for when I’m out of town. Side tables to set my iced tea on. Climbing toys for the cats. Blockers for holes under the fence. Etc etc.
You're kidding yourself on coon proof with cinder blocks. I have 2 pet coons and tried using cinder blocks to keep them from dumping the half a barrel I use as a water trough over. The girls will work together to move one then the other and still dump it. They do it out of spite if somebody doesn't come out to talk and pet them at least 2 times a day.

In Northeast Tennessee, my dad would use cinder blocks to put in the back of his truck when it snowed or iced. It would add weight and help hold the backend on the road. He must have gotten rid of them after the winter because I never saw them anywhere.
Thank you good sir. I have been looking for a place to stop and eat next time I travel from DC to Baton Rouge. Rodney Scott BBq is now my pitstop this summer
Ever since i could remember there was this big pile of cinder blocks stack on the edge of the yard. So it had to be sitting minimum 40 years. I forgot where my dad said it came from but it was just there. Than out of nowhere about 10 or so years ago my dad needed some money and somebody came down to the house and bought like over half of them. Due to the pile behind on the edge of the yard near the woods and after the brick pile was disturbed a tree started to grow in the holes of obe of the cinder blocks.

Fox News literally attacked Dolly recently saying she had a washed up career, they celebrities they brought out to say that were Jon Voight, Scott Baio and Kevin Sorbo
They're just trying to echo that nutjob who attacked her in her blog post or whatever you want to call it. As for the folks they trotted out, none of them had half the career she did. Did Kevin Sorbo even have a career? I'm not sure that playing Hercules on a campy syndicated TV show counts. That's one of those things an aspiring actor does while waiting for their big break, and, if their break comes, they hope it's a role that people forget about.
@@derekbrown2215 she's 78 years old, and I'd wager her career began before most folks here were born. If you want to call her washed up, be my guest, but I doubt you're going to get much agreement.

There are many sayings about Atlanta. Such as "You can't get to Heaven or Hell without changing planes in Atlanta first." The problem is pretty much every major highway that runs from the Midwest toward Florida or from Texas to the East Coast all converge in Atlanta. Think of it like the Hub of a Hub and Spoke road system that covers half the country.
As a native Atlantan, I can verify that the on/off ramps of the downtown connector (I-75/I-85) and the perimeter (I-285) were not designed. They EVOLVED into the hell mazes that we try to navigate. Sometimes, we actually get to where we want to go. Mostly, we just go where the ramps take us. Once, I entered an off ramp in downtown Atlanta and ended up in Savanah. Don't ask me how. I don't know. But it took hours to get back to Atlanta. I just went home, confused and embarrassed.
I'm in Dallas, GA and I have to go south to go north to visit my son and his family in Jasper. Confusing. Without Waze I'd never get there...and back home.
We need a 'God Save the Queen' shirt with Dolly on it. If that hasn't been made, it *MUST* be made. And if it already has... screw it, make MORE - Queen Dolly *DESERVES* it! GOD SAVE THE QUEEN! 🎆🪕👑🦋🎆
If Matt ever wants to make a list of physical wonders, I would recommend: Bass Pro Pyramid (Memphis), Singing River Sculptures (Florence), Sloss Furnaces (Birmingham), Natchez Trace Parkway (TN to MS), any of the ocean forts like Fort Pickens (Pensacola), Bonaventure Cemetery (Savannah), Coral Castle (Homestead), the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, the whole of New Orleans, Abita Mystery House, and UFO Welcome Center (Bowman). More than 7, but it's hard to narrow them down and all very Southern.
I remember how I got my cinderblocks; but to be fair I'm young so the memory only 5 years ago wasn't too far off. My neighbor had a cousin who was tearing down a condemned mobile home and he got some of the cinderblocks from under it just to build a retaining wall; had some left over and voila: New fire pit!
The interesting part of that to me is 3. I used to work in a lab that performed testing on the blocks either for the manufacturer or buyer. You need six blocks for a full test. 3 are for compression strength and get destroyed. The other three are for measurements and density testing. These remain in tact. So was there someone just passing blocks out all over the place after they were done with the three?
Sweet home brother. South Bama is home and I love it like no other place. My granddaughter will be the 8th generation to be on our family land. That’s a pretty good heritage

Oh great...I'm about to go to Atlanta alone for the first time this weekend. I'm from Houston...are you telling me the highways in Atlanta are worse?!?!
The worse is being stuck in the line for valet
houston may suck, but atlanta is worse, don't worry
Well...I wouldn't take the Perimeter if your drafting skills aren't NASCAR standard...
I have never been to Houston but you literally plan your trip around timing, time of day, and traffic in and around Atlanta. It has been that way my entire life and I am older.
I would highly suggest practicing aggressive, merging before you start driving in Atlanta
Yes on the cinder blocks. When we bought our house there they were in the back yard all neatly stacked. God bless those Southern Welcome Wagon folks :))
They came in real handy to fill the holes one of our dogs dug to get under the fence and into the neighbor's yard.
Well Done! Dolly did amazing things for Gatlinburg residents affected in the 2016 fire. A Saint. Really.
Congrats on half a million subs and thank you for your kind words for Dolly. I've decided she's a little dynamo of love and goodwill on platform heels. She is a national treasure with an endless supply of kindness.
God save Queen Dolly!
Don't forget The King Elvis 🧐

Dolly is a sellout. Renames Dixie Stampede due to wokeness.
@@JimNedCreek cry some more snowflake 😂
@@JimNedCreek: Gosh, who hurt you so bad you gotta hate on Dolly, Jimbo???
LOL. I had to laugh and look out of the window to the backyard where there are indeed a stack of blocks. I don't know where I got them or what I got them for, but I keep them just in case.
In Alabama for just under 2yrs, and I absolutely LOVE IT!!!
Congratulations Matt! 🎊 🎉✨️🥳👍🏻 I love all your videos. Ty for the laughs and smiles. 💜🙏🏻
Spaghetti Junction is most definitely a curse from the pits of hell LOL
I travel it 3 times a day at least.
It sucks every time.
Lived there for 38 years. Never knew how long my drive would be so...go to the rest room, get snack, and at least half a tank of gas before I left the house!
And the fact that if you stay in the same lane for too long, you'll end up on an exit. Doesn't matter which lane or how far back.
I was a firefighter/paramedic stationed at the junction,
Company 19.
Even us in the Midwest understand the greatness of Dolly.
The first concert my MomCat ever took me to was a Kenny Rogers set. When Dolly Parton walked onstage, the crowd erupted in cheers louder than they had for Kenny. I didn't understand then, but I do now. She is one of the finest humans on the planet.
God Bless Queen Dolly!
Here in New Jersey, there's a small catering company by me that took four cinder blocks, stood them up on their sides and put wood beams in-between the openings to make a bench for the workers to sit under the trees.
COMPLETELY agree with you about Dolly. She is beyond wonderful!
The list was good, but you 100% ended it right! Dolly is truly a gift from God!
As a Tennessean, lemme say that Dolly Parton is my favorite Tennessean 🌈🙏🏻💜💙💚

How is Sweet Tea not in this list?
Because like BBQ, they don't know how to make it outside the Carolinas.

Gotta give the like here, especially for Dolly. Heck, just the Imagination Library alone is worth giving her that well-deserved number one spot!
Love Dolly. She lives her faith just by being her wonderful self.
I am not a christian man, but God bless Dolly Parton. May she be the first and possibly only human to live forever.
I've always wanted to make a pilgrimage to Dollywood (well and Graceland if I'm honest).
Hello from Hemingway, SC! So nice to see Rodney Scott getting the recognition he deserves.
Hello from just outside Winston-Salem. The lighthouse is a great and happy sight.
Born and raised in Winston-Salem. If it’s not Krispy Kreme it’s not fit to eat!
They do it out of spite if somebody doesn't come out to talk and pet them at least 2 times a day.
your raccoons must have been on the special bus.. ours can get into anything.. I think they'd re-stack the cinder blocks too.
@@HealthyDisrespectforAuthority the walls are two cinder blocks deep, and I stack them 5 high. I have a camera out there and have seen those raccoons struggle. 😂
I live in SOUTHER California, and was born there (in a place almost as far south as Atlanta) and have a few cider block "just in case," and agree that Dolly is a saint.
In Northeast Tennessee, my dad would use cinder blocks to put in the back of his truck when it snowed or iced. It would add weight and help hold the backend on the road. He must have gotten rid of them after the winter because I never saw them anywhere.
Ain’t getting rid of those cinder blocks, I’m gonna use em
... one day. =)
Said by every southern man I know
Thank you good sir.
Love how you say "The only part that matters Roll Tide!" Have me cracking up how funny and accurate you are! Dolly Parton is "Queen of The South" "Roll Tide!!" Keep being Mattmazing!! ❤️🩶🤍
Fox News literally attacked Dolly recently saying she had a washed up career, they celebrities they brought out to say that were Jon Voight, Scott Baio and Kevin Sorbo
Says a lot about Fox that they feel threatened by Dolly. None of it good, either.
So I take it you lean left?
@@EastSider48215 Or she actually is washed up and is propped up by progressives.
@@derekbrown2215 she's 78 years old, and I'd wager her career began before most folks here were born. If you want to call her washed up, be my guest, but I doubt you're going to get much agreement.
I don’t always agree with your obsession with the south and how you put it on a pedestal… but you are funny… so I continue to watch. Keep on keepin’ on funny man.

Talking about the mosquitoes, they love me. My son has a hate relationship with deer flies. They will find him but they don't bother me.
Great job hitting 500K, Matt!
Love it!
Honestly, i have cinder blocks for the Dog Kennel so they don't try to tunnel out or to hood down the tarp/wood in the winter.
I love Dolly. Not even a country music fan.
You don't have to be a country fan to love Dolly.
I think people kinda universally like her even if they don't care for country. She got that Meemaw feel about her.
I love this list, especially Dolly. She is amazing. 💙💙💙
We need a 'God Save the Queen' shirt with Dolly on it. If that hasn't been made, it *MUST* be made. And if it already has... screw it, make MORE - Queen Dolly *DESERVES* it!

Didn't mention the bass pro pyramid

To be fair, people in alabama don't walk.
I don't live in the South but for some reason there are 3 cinder blocks by my house. No idea where they came from or why they're here
You've been blessed
The interesting part of that to me is 3. I used to work in a lab that performed testing on the blocks either for the manufacturer or buyer. You need six blocks for a full test. 3 are for compression strength and get destroyed. The other three are for measurements and density testing. These remain in tact. So was there someone just passing blocks out all over the place after they were done with the three?
They say the Mason Dixon line is moving and the south is expanding.❤️🤗🐝
