  • A quick look at the latest Phatmoto Rover upgrade. The Rover gets a new Coleman 98cc from gopowersports and also a belt driven torque converter.
    It has much better off the line torque than stock.

    How did you install the torc converter to the jack shaft? And what tooth sprocket did you us? Also what chain?

      I ordered a 30 series torque converter kit from amazon, it was $65.00,... It comes with the jackshaft, pulleys, and backing plate. I remove jackshaft and bearings from the kit backing plate and install in the bike frame. You will need to order a 415 ten tooth sprocket from ebay is where I found them. Search ten tooth 415 sprocket. Thanks for subscribing. More upgrade videos to come.

    Sweet build. I removed my rover’s tires. Put hook worm tires on for a smoother ride. They are too knobby for long road use rides.

    where can I buy the mounts? got any amazon links? also you think a Stage 1 Tillotson 212cc Performance Racing Engine, Pull Start will fit on the bike? I got the fat model. thanks

      Super strut can be found in most hardware stores like Lowes and Home Depot in the electrical section. I think putting the heavier 212 on an AT frame is a gamble according to some who have done this because the frames are prone to crack with twice the power and much heavier engine. Before spending big bucks on that motor check out gopowersports electric start 212 Lifan clone currently 149.00 It's a nice engine, my friend just got one and sort of jealous. Engineunknown is beefing up his AT frame with welding. The 212 won't fit on the smaller Rover frame as far as I know. Thanks.

    I appreciate all you have said. I wish the vid showed more detail on the mounting process. Im a 2 stroke guy. This 4 stroke stuff is all new to me. I know what i need to buy but have confusion on how you mounted it to the bike. Trying to make mine as perfect as you made yours.

      I would make a video but my editing skills are quite limited without experience. Maybe when I learn how to edit videos. I got the idea from Isaac it will be fine" . He used a little different method but very similar. Check out his video "98cc swap" . I made it easier so you don't have to make parts using the parts from the TC kit and parts you can order online. I must have had to take out and fit that engine a hundred times before I got it right, you may do better after seeing it done. Don't get in a hurry and it will be fine.

    @Gas Motorized Bike Rides Which Phatmoto model is this SPECIFICALLY? I have the 2024 pre-order, (the limited edition one, but with regular tires.) and I'm considering putting on this engine on mine, but apparently there are differences in the sizes of the frames in the 2024 lineup. Also were is the back sprocket attached to? The jackshaft spot?

      It's a 23' Rover. As far as I know the Rover frames are the same. The All Terrain frames are larger. The stock jackshaft is changed out for the TC kit shaft and a ten tooth 415 driven sprocket. The rear sprocket was changed to a 40T, governor removed upgraded. Thanks.

    What's best wat to keep vibration down?

    • @phatmotocat
      @phatmotocat  Месяц назад +1

      Use a good quality chain and sprocket. I had a bad sprocket that ruined my chain. Not too tight or loose. If too tight it will vibrate. If too loose it will vibrate. A small amount of slack is needed. Thanks.

    how do you go about doing the exaust though?

    • @phatmotocat
      @phatmotocat  2 месяца назад

      Unfortunate it takes the skill of a TIG welder to build exhaust. I had to enlist help. You can buy a $30.00 pipe/cut and bend, have it welded is what I did. Or cut stock pipe, and have a piece welded to that.

    Hey boss what do you have to do to adapt that belt pully on the jack shaft what bolt or methods did you use plz i keep streching the damm 35 chain and i keep killing all my jack shaft teeth

    • @phatmotocat
      @phatmotocat  Месяц назад

      What engine do you have? This conversion is for the Coleman 98cc If you have a Lifan the process is the same but belts will be a different length. Check the alignment of your sprockets. If they off just a little can cause this problem. Also, do not over tighten the chain on the I assume a stock clutch? Should have a little slack on the chain. Also check engine for level.

      @phatmotocat yea it keeps stretching every 2 rides I got a stock 80cc on it iam thinking of doing a 212/200 honda gx so I can use a 30 series cvt wanna buy pass the jack shaft chain

    • @phatmotocat
      @phatmotocat  Месяц назад +1

      @@userdukenukemballzzofsteel You may have trouble fitting those larger engines in the frame. The small block predator fits in there easier. Also, 212 can crack the frames with twice the power. Be aware and good luck.

    Can I get instruction on how you mounted the engine and lined up the pulleys?

    • @phatmotocat
      @phatmotocat  12 дней назад

      The mounts are cut and bolted on the engine, about 6'' long. Get the strut mount nut and bolt hardware when you buy super strut. You have to cut slots in the bike frame too. Fit on bike, mark mount with pen where you need to notch the front mount to clear the down tube. You must first install the driven pulley and jackshaft. The driven pulley is then lined up to drive pulley using a straight edge. Order the 9 1/4'' Comet belt from gopower sports. The shaft distance is 9 1/4''' center to center. Important. Good luck.
