I recommend buying the 6 armor pieces called Devona’s. It has best dps stats for what you’re playing and it’s by far the cheapest, easiest, and also best max level gear for you right now. Weapons and your 6 accessories aren’t named but still simple to acquire in the same stat combo called Berseker, which consists of Power (raw strike damage), Precison (crit chance), and Ferocity (crit damage). You can filter the trading post settings to only show that stat combo for level 80 exotics to make finding the right gear easier. The runes that come on the Devona’s gear are fine enough for now and you’ll want the proper sigils for your weapons. Superior sigil of force is default go to and the second can be between air, accuracy, or impact you can go for whichever is cheapest. Keep in mind sigils don’t stack so your greatsword would have force plus whichever and your axes would have force on main hand and whichever on off hand

Keep in mind your elite spec will give you an exotic weapon when you start training it, an exotic armor piece when you finish training it, and then you can get an ascended weapon after doing a fairly simple collection
A little bit of addition to trading post: As it was previously mentioned, you can filter items by the litlle cog icon. What you should aim for are the exotic gear witht the level of 80 and there are 2 stat combos, that would be perfect for you: - Berserker: it focuses on raw damage and crits, it's attributes are Power, Precision and Ferocity - Marauder: a bit tankier version of Berserker's as it adds a bit more health points with it's Vitality stat but lowers the damage a little bit If you feel confident enough, you can go full berserker, but if you want some tankiness, i would say get Marauder armor and Berserker weapons and jewelry. You could buy the cheapest of them (but of course they have to be level 80 exotic) the pricer ones are mostly just player crafted ones and/or they have unique skins. And last final note: that axe costs 120 gold because you can craft a legendary weapon with it.

Although the gear doesn't really matter before lvl80, if you level up your armor/weapon crafting you can craft lvl 35 rare gear so you can make your alt gear up very early. Or when you are... let's say lvl 38 39 and you really want to be lvl 40, you can use crafting to reach that too xD So it is not really essential to do crafting unless you've decided that you want to craft legendary, or the exotic gear can't satisfy you anymore, then you can start your crafting journey. But if you just want to take a look at the feature of crafting, I think cooking is really interesting. You can start from it ;D And don't forget to use the "discover" feature to invent your own recipe, it is fun ;3
Just FYI, you can also craft pink (Ascended gear) which has the same stats as Legendary. The only difference between the 2 is that you can switch out stats on the fly outside of combat. With Ascended gear, you're locked into the stats you chose when you crafted it
If u want the skyscale later on, u need the jackle for the jackle portals. But u can skip getting the gryphon for a while. Ive had the skyscale for a long time but i never bothered with the gryphon.

You're wearing heavy armor so armor and weapon smithing you will craft stuff you'll be able to use, also because most of your money comes from selling materials and you get better money if you upgrade your metals to ingots for instance . As for your gems keep them some achievement boxes will also have gems. The endless salvage kits and endless gathering tools are just really nice quality of life items. And to keep crafting costs low make another character and learn 2 other crafts as each character can learn 2 crafts and you will not need to pay for swapping crafts.
champs even on beginner maps are really hard even for max lvl fully perfectly geared (ascended or legendary) since u get downlvled to the map lvl, they're not really meant to be solo'd (more like a group meta event). some champs are easier than others, the one you were at are the bandit bounties iirc, and they have always been surprisingly hard. im not sure about your class but check maybe metabattle for open world builds. most of the builds ppl rec are berserker gear but thats typically optimized for stuff like strikes/raid/fractals etc, but for open world solo it might be better to get something thats a bit tanky (but then you're a warrior, i main ele so on viper/condi or zerk/power gear i get killed in 3 hits XD ive started migrating to celestial gear and its been much better for solo open world lol. perhaps on war its not as necessary) as for gold n gems - yes u can buy gems with gold and vice versa. so for ppl who have more time and dont wanna spend money - they can. and for ppl who hates grinding/wasting time, they dont have to grind. farming gold isnt as hard as it seems, check ur material storage for mats to sell (assuming u dont need them). sites like gw2efficiency actually can check your account liquid gold value (ie it'll count your wallet gold + the value of ur mats), and its always surprising how much gold is just sitting there. otherwise you can get 2g a day from dailies, 2g a day from stuff like tequatl, twisted marionette, triple trouble. dungeons are not as popular but every 8 unique paths (including story) nets u 5g. and fractals are always good gold. the fastest gold growth for me was a couple of weeks i did daily t4 fractals, i think i made like...150+ gold without even noticing...? im sitting at 475wallet gold now, trying to figure out what to even spend it on 😂 im such a hoarder.... if u have HoT expansions, metas like chak gerent and octovine are really profitable. if u do a lot of daily strikes, the merchant at eye of the north sells stat selectable ascended armor for ibs strike currency (u can convert the eod strike currency into ibs strike currency too, so it should add up decently fast) there are a lot of ways to get gold. gw2 just doesnt like giving raw gold, so ppl thinks its super hard to get gold. i honestly play pretty casually and my gold was just adding up without me realizing. if you own heart of thorn, the first map verdent brink have a bladed armor exotic set that are stat selectable. you get the chest armor box from doing the map meta (make sure to wait on map til morning), and can buy the rest via airship parts (map currency). i fully geared an alac heal tempest this way on the cheap. if u enjoy pvp, the glorious armor pvp reward track gives stat selectable exotic armor pieces too. goodluck, cheers

that expansive Axe is a precursor its one of the things u need to make a Legendary weapon
