Do note that "easy to play" does not translate into "low skill cap" in Guild Wars 2. Classes like warrior, ranger and guardian are easy to pick up, but seasoned players can 'cheat' fight mechanics with timing and correct skill chains, without sacrificing damage. Overall, they're more timing-focused than the caster classes, who emphasize skill order.
If we're talking maximum efficiency and ability, there are NO easy classes in Guild Wars 2.

For those whos afraid of picking elementalist, there is several builds right there that makes the class really esasy to pick up. I disagree with Mesmer as "medium" difficulty -- it's a challenging difficulty since it's a class unique to Guild Wars, not a lot of players will be familiar how to play that profession. As for Ele-MENTAL-ist -- you have to be mental to play this profession -- it's in the name. Tagging it as "challenging" is putting it lightly. Great video as usual.

If your are leveling a necro you will succeed :) (mesmer can be a single target powerhouse obliterating any target with a combo burst out of stealth) necro was my fav class and was the class i started as well, when people would gank my condi rev i would swap to condi scourge even used the sand portal as a gap to hit on most range classes it was so fun and easy vs against several players they raged alot hahahaha but that is the balance of the game lol.... i assume that has been nerfed quite a bit atm since i dont play the game anymore, oh btw for fun check gunflame warrior i belive Anet will never fix that gimmick build you can one shot alot of players with decent damage setup and players cant block the damage as well :)

      @francisccsabaherpai7068 Год назад

If core necro seems forgiving to you, just wait until you unlock reaper, which has recently been buffed some more. Insane survivability and great damage too. Also scourge is nothing to sniff at either.
Mesmer is fairly difficult, especially core mesmer, but it's quite good too, shatter greatsword was always my go to dps. Virtuoso is a great single target dps, be it power or condition damage and Mirage is a good dps choice too, with the option to go support dps, currently running condi virtuoso for dps and double staff alacrity mirage for support dps.

I have played the game since around launch, however it's never been my main game. One of the things that impacts my ability to play is anxiety (Thanks wow) and the game's over reliance on rigid rotations to do good damage, due to past trauma my memory is very bad so I am unable to remember a complex rotation and I struggle to keybind due to the memory issues (and this also impacts my class choices too). My order of favourites below.
    1) Revenant - This is probably one of the more flexible rotation wise and has been one of my favourites since I picked it up a few years ago. The Renegade spec is a master stroke in my opinion and I perform the best with this elite spec over everything else, it's also got that edgy feel that I so love.
    2) Warrior - They pick things up and hit things... I love hitting things. I love spellbreaker as a theme, I love berserker as a theme and I WOULD love Bladesworn except that there is no way to change the appearance of the gunsaber, they really need to add this functionality. I love everything about the warrior and it's close to Revenant for me.
    3) Engineer - I dislike base engineer and I hate kits because you can't change the skin of the weapons, but I LOVE scrapper and I LOVE Holosmith. I also think that the sheer amount of Mechanists in raids on launch and how it was a meme shows how good Mechanist is. It's a great class because of it's elite specs, but as a technologist myself I appreciate this class a lot.
    4) Mesmer - I'm very bad at Mesmer because they usually have a complex rotation, but I LOVE the theme and I LOVE making gold with tips from ports. The time mage theme of chrono I like, the condi Mirage is fun and relatively easy to play, it's an all around fun class to play. I just wish I wasn't so bad at it :(
    5) Guardian - I want to love Guardian as I love the "Paladin" archetype, but they're really hard to play for me for some reason and I always perform worse than most professions. I'm also still salty that the longbow sucks on Dragonhunter which is my favourite theme in this entire game. Just buff longbow ANet please.
    6) Necromancer - In some ways I feel like Necromancer should be higher on my list, but every man and his dog plays one. What can I say, the theme is A++ and the execution for them is A++. I didn't think i'd like Harbinger when they announced it but it's some of the most fun I have had in this game, ever. Whoever designed the elite spec, hats off to you.
    7) Thief - Again I suck at Thief, but I like it's playstyle and if I wasn't such a scrub i'd really enjoy it. As a person i'm not much of a 'stealthy' guy and I almost never play assassin classes, but Daredevil and Deadeye are exquisitely designed. I'd love rifle to be better for deadeye, but both elite specs are amazing. I haven't tried spectre as it's isn't my jam tho.
    8) Ranger - In WoW I love the hunter, in FFXIV I hate the bard (because it's not a real archer) but in GW2 I find the ranger to be one massive missed opportunity. I wanted them to lean in to the bow style and have a good DPS spec that uses the bow but it's always rated so middling. I don't like Druid at all and I don't feel it fits the theme that much, I don't really like the weird glow that untamed has for their pets and I really like soulbeast as you can not have a pet (although you feel forced not to have a pet with that spec). I just wish it was better than it is, and it always feels like the bridesmaid to all the other professions.
    9) Elementalist - I hate dying, and I spend more time dead than alive with elementalist. The rotation and elite specs are far too complicated for me and so I just can't get into it. I wish I could, but I legit suck the worst at this class than anything else. :(
Thankyou for coming to my ted talk.

Thank you for the video! I just have been returning to gw2 and have been figuring out what classes i like.
I created my first character 9 years ago now, but i dropped the game shortly after the fall of Lions Arch. At the time I played a Norn Ranger, which was a great intro to the game and allowed me to play solo even though i had no idea what i was doing.
Then i returned after 2-3 years and created my Sylvari Mesmer.. this is when i got OBSESSED with gw2. I played through all the expansions, cried during the story, and got really into chronomancer builds and group map and world boss events. I sadly dropped it again because my computer broke and I was starting a new job in a new city... but my icon in some social media is still of my mesmer.
And now im back with a human revenant and sylvari necromancer (though i return to my mesmer often). I cant leave this game forever, and so happy that it still has such an active community. Ive gotten my FFXIV friends to try it out and get into it. They introduced me into high tier play there, and now we are learning together in GW2.
Ill send this vid their way when they start asking about classes.

Love the video! Very concise yet sufficient introduction to the feels and style of each class.
Personally, I love the elementalist, it is one of the most fun and rewarding mage gameplays ever.
However, if it were up to me I’d have to put the difficulty as a bit easier than the Mesmer. The clone mechanics of sticking only to one enemy makes clones die out too quickly to protect you, whereas for the Elementalist you have more adaptability and AoE damage to survive any situation.
Maybe I just haven’t played Mesmer long enough to be skilled, but I like the Elementalist a lot more.

For those that want to try elementalist but are thrown off because of the difficulty. As a newer player who's starting endgame content and going throw the expansions right now, here's my take. I've always been a fan of Magical dps classes in MMOs and I love games to be somewhat challenging. The ele caught my eye because it seemed to fit the criterias. I found that it's difficulty depends entirely of yourself. I had a lot of success early in the game using the staff and just maneging distances (also using ele summons) and It honestly wasn't even hard. As I got to understand the basics of the class I swapped to mid-short range weapons and a faster paced gameplay (and I continue to do that since I'm loving sword/dagger Weaver spec). Yes, it's hard, but I chose it. So the moral of the story would be: don't fear the ele, just make it easy at first and go as far as you are confortable. The ele is a dope class, best magic type class i've seen in any mmo

Probably why I have 12 characters. :) Even when you pick a specific profession there are so many different ways to play it that you'll spend a lifetime mixing and matching.
I guess currently Guardian is the one I play most often. Even with all the people playing high burning firebrands and DPS Dragonhunters, I still get the most joy playing my little core guardian buff bot with 100% concentration and 8 different buffs running.

Honestly, I’ve played this game on and off since release, many even a few betas. Played GW1, or rather tried it, never really liked it.
But I have yet to finish a story, for a single character, do end game or fractals, which is the part that I am really looking forward to. I love the game play, and the system, had some issues getting used to not having the trinity, but it makes it a whole lot more interesting.
I love exploring the game, do jump puzzles and platforming. I really enjoyed the first dungeons, the story part, never got past that. There is such high variety in this game. What I loved about wow was the dungeon aspect of it, 5 man, not raid, did the raid, it was just never really any fun. And everything is in this game, great story, easy to have fun solo, exploration that is rewarding and fun classes. Love my engi, difficult to play, so I take it slowly, I don’t mind that much, not as mind nummingly slow as my holy priest.
But his dammit, I can never pull my self together and really play this game, I have no idea why or for what reason. I love this game, and I really do want to play it. Might just be patient friends I lack, to tip me over 😂

@@CaffeinatedDad yea but on the other hand if you.. just run around and avoid stuff, without contribuiting to the damage, then you're just useless.
Yes it's important to do the mechanic, but what i've learned in my .. 20+ years of MMORPG playtime is that Damage is the MOST important thing.
If you have good damage, you clear the boss 99.9% of the time.
First of all, if your players in your raid are doing GOOD damage, that also means that they are good in the game..
Second, more damage = less mechanics anyway.
So by doing damage you LITERALLY avoid mechanics.
third , Faster clears which is very important for the mental state of each player as well as people not getting angry during the raid.
Even if u wipe once or twice, if your damage is GOOD and u just failed 1 or 2 mechanics, that's fine... you'll still clear it for sure lol
Yes sometimes people will "Greed" for better dps, but that downside is very small compared to the downside of having an afk dodger in your raid.

In other mmorpgs (be it eso or wow or the like) necromancer (or DK for wow) is just a food coloring of "skulls appear when you use your skills" or "when you use your skills skeletons appear. Spoooky". Meanwhile GW2 Necro is just a spam of AoE on Aoe with a side of AoE and serving of minions for apetite "Yo dawg, I heard you like AoE circles, so I put AoE circles on my AoE circles", pretty much a (mouse) point&click adventure game
