I've had the T7 touch for about 2 years now and I love it. It's been very reliable and I use it pretty much every day. When this is plugged into a USB 3.2, transferring files to an internal ssd is very fast. The Cons that I have found is that if you are running multiple applications or doing multiple things at once, it will lag or freeze up. I've never tried gaming on the T7, so I'm not sure how it would perform. Something to note, if you shut down or restart your computer. As long as the T7 stays plugged in, it will not require a fingerprint to access. Unless of course you deactivate your usb ports from getting power while your pc is off.
the SSD Samsung software does this until you reboot in recovery mode and change the security settings to allow lower security. then enable system extensions from privacy menu and the ssd shows up!
The t7 actually gets 900 MB/sec in certain situations. I have a few I use to run test OSes from like Linux windows but not macOS. macOS has an issue with Samsung’s firmware when it comes to TRiM so it’s better to use western digital if you plan to use a usb drive as a macOS boot disk.
Thanks for the info! I got slightly higher speeds with the Sandisk and lexar that I reviewed as well. Mid 800s for the Sandisk with the M2 MBA. Do you know what software I can use on a Windows laptop to run speed tests? I have my HP Spectre laptop I can run them on as well to see if there are any notable differences

Man that sucks, it was the first video that poped up. was looking for that finger print test and going all the way to the end and saying thanks for watching but i am not gonna test it. why even bother to upload the video if its not complete.
4:26 and 5:40 I mention that I am not able to succesfully pair the biometric to my Mac devices. I tried to install on both Mac Mini and MBA, with no success. I also mentioned that I have filevault enabled for both devices due to work. I tried testing it but was not able.
California requires packaging to state when items made use materials that can be harmful. While it's a help, it never says what specifically it is. It could be the paper, metal coating, SSD inside But at least they give a heads up. A lot of other states don't have that warning
@@Striker50_ Wow, thanks man never knew Canada had such laws, But its still baffling how a simple external SSD have risks of cancer and reproductive issues, I would've understood if it was some chemical related thing like cleaner or thermal paste or the likes of these, but a thing made of metal and circuits to have such risks....... I don't know but I think I'm gonna be paranoid by many things now 💀💀💀
@@vavlo813 Canada has a similar law as well? Yeah you'd be surprised. A lot of times it's the cheap materials that contain a residue on them that can rub on to your hands McDonald's Fries 🍟 and hash browns literally have this warning too lol because of Acrylamide so McDonald's food has this warning as well but the restaurants hide it well

Nice! That's good to know. What operating system do you use it with?
@@Striker50_ I use windows 10.

Portable ssd or ssd (nvme) with enclosure? I will use it only on my phone. (Samsung s21 fe).
Will use it as external storage for video recording.
@@CijonsGaming yes that's a great option and that's what I do.
Nice review ❤
Thanks I appreciate it!
Update it on a Windows PC.. You need a firmware upgrade on the SSD to support M1, M2 Macs

Sounds cumbersome lmao. Would you be referring to recovery mode being set for the PC/ Laptop?
@@Striker50_ on the mac. Shut down then keep power/touch id pressed until the recovery mode loads. There are youtube videos on how to do it.
