I learned about the Thunderbolt 4 cable when I bought a Universal Audio Apollo interface, which requires said cable. And yes, it makes a difference. Without it, the interface simply won’t function. Same principle here. Great video.
Yeah it said it was up to date when I ran it so hopefully it's good. I know most of the issues with the sandisk ssds have been with the 4tb, but they mentioned to update to a latest version to curb the likelihood
I’m trying to figure out how to transfer from my windows 10 to my Mac the down load you are suggesting, should I down load in old computer or new computer? Thax
When you plug in to your Windows computer, you will see the Sandisk SSD pop up in your files. Drag everything you want to transfer into the SSD, and then you are going to eject the SSD (do NOT format if it shows that option) After ejecting, you can plug it into your Mac, and you will see the SSD on your wallpaper, or under Finder @@rosecowan1556
Thanks for your review. I have been trying to look up the firmare, but it's keep telling my seriral number is incorrect. I am not sure if i am using the correct link. And yes my sn is correct, and I registered it with Sandisk already.
Were you ever able to install the password software onto your Mac? I'm trying to install it on my M2 Macbook Air to no avail. I clicked on the Extreme SSD, double click "Install SanDisk Software for Mac", double click the SanDisk icon that says "Install SanDisk Software", and then nothing happens. I don't see any SanDisk software in my applications folder either.
I wasn't but I THINK it might be because I have file vault active. I have to have it on due to encrypted and sensitive documents for work on my laptop. If you see my other reviews I also did one on a Samsung SSD and a lexar SSD. They both have encryption and fingerprint and neither of those would also connect. So what I'm thinking is file vault is realizing it's an external plugin so it's not going to allow it. I'm switching jobs so I will be deactivating soon and reporting back to see if that's the issue
Same problem here. Been trying to double click on the "Install SanDisk Software for Mac" a couple of times, but nothing has changed and it just stayed idle. Have you managed to fix the issue on your end, @JacksonWalter735?
@@jaykodonuts from further research I don’t think the software is compatible with Apple’s M chips. My friend has an older one with an intel chip and the software installed on there
@@eduardomarcos5216 I haven’t tried it again, but I’ll try when I get home. I remember when I was doing research most people who had issues were the ones who had Mac’s with M chips so I ended up giving up. I don’t know if SanDisk ever started supporting M chips yet
Thanks! Good question. I got rid of my 8 Black so I don't have a way of testing. I know the cams are smarter now, but I don't know how many settings there are. 1 thing that can be done is connecting the camera, and SSD to a computer and drag and drop. It is one extra device but that should for sure work
Yup, I'm surprised I didn't mention it in this video, I mentioned it in my other one It's lame that they nerf the cable. Samsung and Lexar both gave good ones
I’ve been seeing that they’ll crash unexpectedly, disconnect randomly, or will delete everything in it out of nowhere. Has anyone else had this issue before?
I believe you're referring to the issue that was being reported on the 4TB model. While concerning, I don't think it happens often enough to happen with high probability. This model has worked fine for me

@@markcook2980 It certainly does make the difference initially I was transferring without that cable and the speeds were incredibly slow
Good job you updated the firmware

The cable is exactly 6 inches excluding the connectors.

Yes 👍 you will most likely need an adapter or USB C to lightning cable however

You'd need an adapter since the iPhone 14s have lightning ports not type c
