Pollys are great locos that always seem to run well - I've driven a few. But for me their small diameter wheels spoils their looks. Why are the wheels so small?

They always go well. The 5/6 and now Atlas have 1” larger wheels. But i guess cost is a factor? But it does let them pull surprisingly well for their size and weight
