Actually I wanted to do this challenge a long time ago which was like 1 month ago but I discovered this video and thought mine wouldn't really be an original video but I'd rather watch this insted.
That’s why I appreciate Hop as a rival! Everyone says he’s one of the worse rivals in the franchise and I disagree! Sure he’s not the best trainer, but his character development is great
Sobble was my starter on Sword and it was a brilliant Pokemon to use this was my team Inteleon Corviknight Toxtricty (Amped Form) (obtained at the Day Care on Route 5 in a Luxury Ball) Coalossal Greedent Thievul Scorbunny will be my starter when I get Shield and this will be my team Cinderace Corviknight Boltund Barraskewda Eldegoss Hatterene
Those are pretty solid teams! Honestly any team with Corviknight is going to be a good team! My initial Sword Team was Rillaboom, Corviknight, Toxtricity, Barraskewda, Grimmsnarl, and Coalossal, while my initial Shield team was Rillaboom, Hatterene, Dracovish, Runerigus, Centiskorch, and something else, I can't remember at the moment. And yeah Sobble might be an alright pokemon but design wise I just despise him with a passion lmao, his line just has no continuity, it doesn't make sense to me.
I've recently just finished a Fairy Type only playthrough of Shield and, considering half my team had been obtained through in-game trades, I saw this title and just thought "Isn't that pretty much just a Mono-Fairy run??" Was not surprised to find out that half your team was fairy by the end of this lol, I'm happy you got as much out of Snips and Candyfloss as I did in my run!
Oooh I legit did a mono fairy shield run like a month ago (It’s my favorite type and was my first of many consecutive personal challenge runs. And my final team at Leon was a unfortunately dead after Leon Sylveon, Mawile, a random level 35 Klefki (Don’t ask) Azumarill Alolan Ninetales (The MVP) and I think Whimsicott? I don’t remember. But I recently started a Mawile only run (it’s my favorite mon ever) and Kabu was so easy somehow so I think it’s legit possible
Thanks man, I appreciate you! Don’t get me wrong I think Cinderace is pretty cool all things considered. But as a drummer and also being very disappointed in Sobble I had to go with Grookey, you know? But I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
My starter was Grookey(the best) and my final team was Rillaboom Orbeetle Drednaw Steelix Hawlucha Gmax Pikachu Bought Sheild recently and my starter will be Scorbunny
Man I’m so glad that they made a great First Route Bug, I love Orbeetle but was always so sad I could never fit it into my team! That first team looks really solid though! What do want your team to be for Shield?
Sobble was my starter on sword and when you evolve it to Inteleon, it can learn good moves and do decent damage. My current team on Sword is: Zacian Eternatus Gengar Goodra Inteleon Leafeon
So Stomping Tantrum is a 75 base power Ground move that doubles in power every time the move used prior to it fails. So since Swallow automatically fails if you don’t have any stockpiles set up, you get a 150 base power ground move every other turn!
Murphination: Grooky is the best gen 8 starter Me: OBJECTION scorbunny is the best starter because it's good against the first gym where you have few choices for a team and It's also super effective against the fairy and ice gym and still good against the rock gym assuming you have double kick or some other fighting type move. Also, it's the cannon option that the protagonist chooses thus the protagonist prefers scorbunny. I also just think it's a great Pokemon being fast and powerful when fully evolved and that can stick without status moves or ev training.
That's definitely a fari argument! But Rillaboom to me is just a very balanced Pokemon, pretty great stats all around aside from Special Attack, but when are you going to see a Special Rillaboom anyway? I've never been one to choose the "canon" starter because every since I was a kid I always went with the water type starter anyway! But I think you've got a great variety of Pokemon to choose from before Milo. You've got Sizzlipede, Rookidee, Blipbug, Carkol if you evolve Rolycoly quickly enough, and you even have accessto Alolan Meowth for bulk to resist Milo's entire team!
Aaand even if someone doesn’t like cinderace. You need to remember that you will be able to get incineroar if you choose scorbunny which you can’t do if you choose the other starters. If you play competitive, then you know that incineroar is pretty good so this and your points, I think scorbunny is the best starter to pick in sword and shield
Thanks man! Yeah I struggled with him a ton in the other challenge run I did here on the channel but his music was so freaking weird and ominous, really gave me Ghetsis music kind of vibes!
I literally sweep every trainer team on my no Dinamax Run Boosting moves are OP My team Rillaboom Corvinight Boltund Excadrill Gyarados Centiskorch Try to guess who are the two who sweep everything

wait... really?? i never knew that! Not too sure how well it would have done seeing as Greedent's Sp. Atk isn't great if I recall, but that's good information to know for the future!
If you have the time, I'd recommend doing a run with only gift Pokemon. The only pokemon you'd be using are your starter (not sobble), Pikachu and/or Eevee from the wedgehurst station (you can only get them by having Let's Go data) the toxel from the day care and one of the Galar fossil Mons (preferably Dracovish for Shield).
@@xy_metaknight_yx3901 oh facts! I didn't even think about that. I would personally exclude Kubfu to make it harder, but I think that would be a fun way to incorporate Isle of Armor to the run
@@tyair7834 I just am not a fan of the evolutionary line itself. I think it makes absolutely no sense, why go from a crybaby lizard, to an emo gecko, to James Bond? To me it doesn’t seem right at all. If they wanted to make the line resemble James Bond, making it a cry baby was not the way to go in my opinion. There’s nothing wrong with the line itself. People love the line for obvious reasons. But I just feel it was executed very poorly, and that design wise it’s very lackluster. But all that is just my opinion! If you disagree then more power to you! Would you say he’s your favorite starter in the entire franchise?
The first time I beat Pokemon Sword, I chose Grookey. this was my team: Rillaboom Corviknight Hitmonlee Octillery Dusknoir Ninetales Im currently playing through the game a second time, this time I chose Sobble. This is what I plan my team to be: Inteleon Haxorus Braviary Shiftry Claydol Centiskorch
Great teams all around! I think my initial team was Rillaboom, Corviknight, Coalossal, Barreskewda, Grimmsnarl, and something else that I'm totally blanking on at the moment. When I tried using Centiskorch he didn't really meet my expectations combat wise sadly, but what are your thoughts of him? I'd love to hear what you think!
Oh god! What kind of move did it go for? Granted Cinderace is a bit frail but I’m curious what move he went for! And yeah Rillaboom is just very balanced, and I like that about him. Great bulk, HP, attack, and decent speed! Swampert is like that too and that’s why I love him Lmaooo
Fun fact if you pick scorbunny Leon get his strongest team Because your starter you choose depicts what 2 pokemon leon will get If you pice scorbunny leon gets Mr rime and Intellion If you pice Sobble leon gets Ryperior and Rillaboom If you pick Grookey leon gets Cinderace and Seismitoad People who only play the game once or always pick one of the starters instead or choosing other dont notice this
@@zenethehero5527 I did actually know about that! I've never experienced it because I always went with Grookey, but I'm doing a challenge run on Twitch right now where I had to pick Sobble so I guess I'll deal with Leon's most difficult team at the end!
Loved the use of P5R's final villain battle theme for the last fight, top tier choice and totally didn't crush my soul by reminding me of P5R's ending. Not even a little....... I swear
YESSSSSS Oleana theme love! Legit it’s my favorite songs in the game and prolly in Pokémon history. I legit will not even start battling her and just jam to her theme. I might love it cause it reminds me of a Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Song and that’s my second favorite game and Pokémon is my all time favorite so it’s like a match made in heaven. People need to talk about this theme more.
"Sobble is the worst starter to ever exist." Rifle, the Sobble that I got from Pokémon Home and then evolved into an Inteleon (who is also notorious for OHOKing Dynamaxed and Gigantamax pokémon): "Hold my Mystic Water."
I don't deny the Intelleon is good competitively. I've seen it do some great things from some competitive youtubers I watch. It's the design. I absolutely hate it and the continuity of the line just doesn't flow with me. Why does a crybaby become a spy? I just don't get it.
Okay but like, hear me out real quick: What if I told you Sobble himself is the reason he starts crying in the cinematic where Leon introduces the starters to us? He hits Scorbunny with a water gun which causes him to hit his head on the tree knocking Grookey’s sitrus berry off the branch and into the pond, scaring Sobble, causing him to cry. My man can’t deal with the consequences of his own damn actions
Actually kind of wild how many supporty pokemon the game gives you through trades. Although they can serve multiple purposes its kind of funny how that pans out
Yo big fan of content like this and I watch I religiously so I’m not in any way shape or form in the position to tell you what to do. But 1. I really like your vibe and I liked this video I feel like a play through on another game with the same rule set but nuzlocke would be more intense but idk if that would be too much and make it too hard. If you don’t want to do a nuzlocke try and implement hardcore rules eg no items, set mode and level Really enjoy the content and the no face cam vibe. also sun and moon and usum is doing good on the algorithm rn 😃
Hey man, glad to hear you liked the video! I’m definitely down to do more hardcore type games, so I’ll keep your comment in consideration when planning my next video!
Because he is lmao. No other starter in the game has as much attention to detail as his line. He’s not the superior starter though, that title goes to Mudkip
@@YnashaTMC well I can’t deny that at all seeing as Mudkip is my favorite Pokémon. But again I’m not talking about type matchups lol. What I’m saying is, in terms of concept as detail, Grookey is the best starter out of Scorbunny and Sobble. I didn’t mention any other starter in the game lmao
But those ideas don’t flow well together, with the ideas of starters and their concepts being much more in depth and creative, there is absolutely NOTHING that connects Sobble’s crybaby aesthetic to Inteleon’s spy/assassin trope. The ideas don’t mix. If Inteleon was an actor inspired by Shakespeare like intended, I probably would have loved it
you are wrong about Sobble. It means Hop gets Scorbunny in a mirror to his brother's Charizard. And since it's a water type, it learns Ice Beam which allows it to deal with grass types.
Okay, but you’re talking competitively. Hop having Cinderace really has nothing to do with Leon having a Charizard either, that argument doesn’t really make sense to me. I’m speaking conceptually, they’re bad. A sad, crying lizard should not evolve into James Bond. As a concept, and as an evolutionary line, it doesn’t work, and it makes no sense. I don’t doubt it’s competitive prowess, I know it’s good in game and during wifi battles. But you can’t tell me going from a crying lizard to a spy works and makes sense. There’s no connection between the two.
@@TheMurphination I see nothing wrong with looking at it competitively. The reason I bring up Hop picking scorbunny is because it's the same type as Leon's charizard and I think Hop's decision to pick scorbunny shows how much he looks up to Leon. And finally I, personally, disagree about it's evolution making no sense. Sobble starts out as a total crybaby and when it evolves it becomes emotionally distant, keeping its sadness bottled up on the inside. But through hard work and effort it manages overcome it's mental hangups to become cool and self-assured by evolving into Inteleon. It's evolution shows emotional growth alongside physical maturation.
I got a tip for u Instead of waiting until late game use a Pokémon with pickup Even if u can't catch the required Pokémon for the trade That way u get the Pokémon as early as possible
It’s a great tip no doubt. But that would have been going against the rules of the run, don’t you think? I can see the argument for your claim and I’ll definitely keep it in mind for next time, but for my first challenge run I wanted to follow the rules as much as possible!
I went with Sobble simply because Scorbunny reminds me so much of Charmander who reminds me of Charizard who steals the spotlight from other starters with his dumb nostalgia factor. At best, Sobble was a satisfactory damage-dealer, but it wasn't until I saw his Inteleon form that I truly fell in love with him.
Did you know that froslass fits the pretty on the outside ugly on the inside motif? It is in fact based on a yo Kai that is an elegant lady in a white kimono 👘 (sound familiar?) That (in some stories) asks you for some tea, and if you give her the tea, she immediately kills you with frostbite (you need to give her water instead if you want to survive). And in other stories she just skips the middleman and freezes you solid apon sight.
Piers never sends his ace out last because obstagoon is used for killing the Pokémon and when he dies his skuntank comes to pick off the weakened enemies
I actually have Peepers on my team! The rest of my team has been caught by me and nicknamed by me, and then there's just peepers. If I was a gym leader I'd definitely have one on my team. A side note though, videos like this kinda change how I play the game, when I was nine and just started playing pokemon I kinda just threw my strongest mon out and push through. Now I actually look at what moves I teach my mons. Like my Levanny named Euphoria- Her ability boosts bug type moves, and I gave her a miracle seed to hold to boost the power of grass type moves, and since she's a pokemon that evolves via friendship, I taught her return.
So once I was battling the champion and I wasn't paying attention and most of my team died. I sent out my ninetails and it endured the hit so I would be sad twice In a row. I was so shocked. It honestly saved me. I was overleveled too...
Btw something I've realized while playing Sw&Sh is that Nessa is the worst gym leader in Galar (personality wise). After you defeat her the next time you meet her is in the "elite4" battle in which her Drednaw now is able to Gigantamax. This means after loosing to you and some other trainers she either threw her old one away or gave it the Max-soup from the isle of armor. Considering she isn't part of Mustards dojo I guess she boxed her old one to get a Drednaw that can Gigantamax. There is even a "good" reason for her to do it. In Galar Kabu is considered to be hurdle for young trainers and he is also the first gym leader to use a gigantamax pokemon. Nessa probably thought that to become the new Kabu the new hurdle for trainers she needs gmax pokemon and then just caught a new Drednaw using it to replace her original Drednaw. Meanwhile Milo just who also wanted a gmax pokemon just caught a new pokemon one of the Applin line and used it as his new ace while keeping his old one in his team.
excellent type versatility! I think mine was Rillaboom, Corviknight, Coalossal, Toxtricity, Barreskewda, and something else I can't remember at the moment lol

I never expected this video to give me a newfound appreciation for Greedent of all Pokemon, yet here we are.
right?? he literally carried!
Can someone explain to me the Swallow/Stomping Tantrum Combo??
So Stomping Tantrum is a 75 base power Ground move that doubles in power every time the move used prior to it fails. So since Swallow automatically fails if you don’t have any stockpiles set up, you get a 150 base power ground move every other turn!
Cool challenge! Glad this popped up on my recommendations!
Glad to hear you enjoyed it!!
Murphination: Grooky is the best gen 8 starter
Me: OBJECTION scorbunny is the best starter because it's good against the first gym where you have few choices for a team and It's also super effective against the fairy and ice gym and still good against the rock gym assuming you have double kick or some other fighting type move.

Reason why the Sobble Line is Good. Sobble: He a Cute Boi. Drizzile: Emo and it has a water Balloon. Inteleon: Epic Looking spy and it has a gun
I got a tip for u
Instead of waiting until late game use a Pokémon with pickup
Even if u can't catch the required Pokémon for the trade
That way u get the Pokémon as early as possible

It is in fact based on a yo Kai that is an elegant lady in a white kimono 👘 (sound familiar?) I actually have Peepers on my team!
Like my Levanny named Euphoria-
Her ability boosts bug type moves, and I gave her a miracle seed to hold to boost the power of grass type moves, and since she's a pokemon that evolves via friendship, I taught her return.
So once I was battling the champion and I wasn't paying attention and most of my team died. I sent out my ninetails and it endured the hit so I would be sad twice In a row. I was so shocked. It honestly saved me. I was overleveled too...
Sobble isn't bad cause It's final evolution SLAYS, It's so gorgeous even a girl can't comprehend.
Pretty good observation! It’s possible she had a secondary Drednaw that can gigantamax though, don’t you think?
My Sword and Shield team was Rillaboom, Corviknight, Centiskorch, Drednaw, Toxtricity and Grapploct
