03-09 Mercedes E Class Parasitic Battery Drain - Passenger Seat Module Going Bad

- Quick story, my trusty Mercedes had a hard time starting the day after Christmas and was thinking the battery was going bad. The next day it was completely dead.
Bought a new battery and the next day it was completely dead again. Well, I should have known better and done some research or diagnostics first.
Through this video I confirm with my multimeter, by looking at the amp draw with the car off and key not inserted.
This problem is common over multiple platforms and not limited to the W211 E-Class
I have the same color, diesel. My battery is dead now but I did notice that the voice tel system message popped up, that was a tell tale that my battery is becoming weak
Thanks bro! It worked for me, just pulled the fuse.
Glad it helped!
Your a life saver 🙏🏾
I believe that this has worked for me, but doesn't this fuse control airbag deployment as well as the seat adjustment? If so, I suspect that I will put it in back for long road trips, and just remember to remove it again at my destination.
Not to my knowledge that that fuse also controls the airbag. But I would have to double check the wiring diagrams.
Thank you!. I will look into this.
You're welcome!
i will try this too, we have almost thesame car
So if you pull that fuse then it negates the draw until you buy another computer for the car? You can do the same process for driver side if it failed also right?
I've had the fuse out since I've made this video. Haven't had a problem since. Haven't had the time to replace the computer.
So did you like replace the passenger seat module?
@@philemonkoikoi2639 yes.
After you had temporarily removed the green fuse?
@@philemonkoikoi2639 found the issue to be the passenger seat module, I pulled the fuse as a temporary solution, I was eventually able to replace the passenger seat module. Then I put the fuse back in. And all was good
@@WJsLifeonaBoat thanks a ton bro, mine is stalled currently moreless similar problem. Will try that and perhaps give a feedback.
Do we necessarily have to change the battery because it wears out over time?
Yes.
I removed the fuses for the seats but it still drains the battery, do I need to change the battery which is 4 months old or is there some other problem
Thanks
Hi. So I disconnected the negative battery post and the negative cable. Now, when i touch one electrode of my multimeter to the negative battery post and one electrode of my multimeter to the negative cable the reading it shows me is O.04 A. Is this ok? Or is it a parastic draw? Because whenever i check my battery voltage in the mornings it shows me 11.94 V.
That seems okay. I had 4-5 amp draw and that was too much.
WJ's Life on a Boat - i guess the problem is with my battery itself. Its a brand new battery not even a month old.
@@delaguiar that's interesting... Maybe try getting the battery load tested.
WJ's Life on a Boat - Just tested the load. When i start the vehicle its going down to 9.80 V. Does this prove its a bad battery?
Mine did the same thing. It read 0.03 but it dies in a day. I must’ve been doing something wrong idk
