Synthesis Pod works with Tasha, the Witch Queen. You cast one of their already exiled spells with her -3, trigger her demon ability, use the Pod to exile their spell (that you control) and dig for something else from their deck, and trigger the demon ability again. And you can get a permanent spell off of the pod instead of just instants and sorceries.

    • @weirdo82
      @weirdo82 Год назад

Commenting even further in the future, seems like a slam dunk in Saruman of Many Colors too. You cast your spell, activate the pod, getting a higher cmc card and triggering his "2nd spell" clause, potentially casting a third spell from a graveyard for just 1 more mana and 2 life!

The gaining life on White Sun's Twilight seems pretty relevant to me. If you do it for more than 5, especially 10+, you've you just board wiped, put down creatures that can be lethal on a player and the life gain swing are all things that when come together become a lot stronger.

Synthesis Pod is actually interesting for counter spell protection. You don't always have a counter spell in hand but this artifact can sit on the table, and then later if someone is countering your spell, you use this on your own spell, get something, and then their counter spell fizzles because it's target is gone.

I feel like I see so many people missing what I *think* is the best use-case of Synthesis pod. It's a great counter to counter-spell. If you intend for a spell to go off, and it gets countered or will fizzle, you can add this to the top of the stack for 1 and a tap and still get value out from under your opponents ~counterspell.

I think The Eternal Wanderer is absolutely insane. For six mana if it just gets to -4 that's already incredible, but then it just gets to stick around and pump out 2/2 doublestrikers or blink/remove blockers! It is going to be very hard to get rid of because you keep your strongest thing and everyone else gets something that almost certainly won't attack through your creature. I expect that card to skyrocket in price shortly after release.

I might try Blue Sun’s Twilight in my Lucea Kane deck. I learned from playing Yarok that when you can double up your stealing effects (especially ones that aren’t removable once they resolve), they get pretty good. Lucea ramps hard, and getting four bodies while removing two looks like a deal to me. Even stealing a commander while also getting its ETB/LTB as one of your options can really disrupt someone.

I honestly think Fire and Ice is in a tier below Hearth and Home and Forge and Frontier at this point. People remember when it was really really good but I don't think it holds up as much anymore. It sort of acts as the gatekeeper sword where a new sword has to be better than Fire and Ice to be able to hang with Forge and Frontier or Hearth and Home, but it itself is not in the same tier as those.

Just what came to mind when I saw this card.

Synthesis pod is useful in, say a Mizzix deck. Where your spells are cheap and you know your opponent's combo pieces. You can cast your X spell, then use that to take their combo piece out of their deck and use it against them.

Verinclex + Vraska = Instantkill: Vraska enters with 12 Loyalty Counters, immediatly ultimates, then puts 18 not 9 Posion counter on a player to kill them. If you now in a Deck with at least Black and Green can blink booth at the same time, you can take out all 3 players in 1 shot.

I could see putting Capricious Hellraiser into my Jaya (creature not planeswalker) deck. Good targets would be wheels, etc. to get extra value while putting a 4/4 flyer for 3 red down as that deck always has a full GY. I use Invoke Calamity and similar effects due to Jaya’s discard requirement and this feels like another flavor of those effects on a creature. The right discards could make this like a mulldrifter.

I definitely think Venerated Rotpriest has a place in infect decks--I play an Ezuri, Claw of Progress infect deck that runs it and it loves effects like Open Into Wonder, Thrive, Silkguard, etc. It really helps with stacking poison counters and I'm never unhappy to draw it at any point in the game. Very flexible both as a wincon or as a way to just get the poison counters started so you can proliferate them, similar to a T1 Glistener Elf. At worst it gets me an experience counter and one poison counter on someone, at best it wins the game.

I will be putting Conduit of worlds and All Will Be One into my Lord Windgrace deck, where I am already doing Dark Depths shenanigans. Conduit will get my vampire hexmage out of my graveyard over and over again while Wingrace or Conduit brings back Dark Depths time after time to always keep a Marit Lage on the battlefield while also perhaps dinging opponents for 10 damage every time Depths hits the field. I am salivating right now.

I think im trying synthesis pod in my pako and haldan deck.
I sometimes have cards in my hand, that are simply dead in some situations, since i focuse on playing my opponents cards anyways.
And for obvious reasons have a lot of ways to play with the top cards revealed and top card manipulation in there anyways...
so yeah... might be okay... but still a lot of mana/life and setup...
But can be crazy good if you know your opponents decks to an extent: If they have an Avacyn somewhere in there, and it's their only 8 cost for example.... youcan go for it.

I agree that the mites from white suns twilight loose points for not being able to block. But in my unlockable token decks, it's another wincon if not dealt with. The decks main focus is to get combat damage triggers, so I'm replacing it with martial coup which was in the deck. The life gain is extra gravy for me, I'm using lifelink as a main combat damage theme anyway.

with Venerated Rotpriest and Djinn Illuminatus on the battlefield, cast Slaughter Pact for 0 targeting Venerated Rotpriest and then replicate it enough times equal to the required amount of poison counters needed to win, and boom game over and you don't have to worry about the upkeep cost.
