Oh man, how i've missed your watch buying videos from japan! Just about a week ago i've been to the same SWATCH shop in Ginza 1:12 and bothered the girl whether a "misson to Uranus was possible"! I swear i thought that the girls there heard this line like a miilion times before, but never could i have imagined an asian person turn so red so fast! Had to settle on "Mission to Pluto"instead! )
I never understood you Austin, you are clearly an out and out watch guy but not an Omega fan, who sort of make watches for watch nerds. I get guys not liking the 300m, PO and AT but how can any watch guy not love the Speedmaster based solely on looks and design. Maybe your not a watch guy but a Rolex guy.

WOW, I was totally not aware of this progression to the Moonswatch. Apologies if you have already covered this in other videos or this one, but I must ask: is the seconds hand the only difference between this and the non "moonshine" versions? Also, are these exclusive to Japan? Thank you for sharing this video, it was very helpful. This is my first time here, deffo subscribed. Keep up the great work.

Hi TGV, thanks for watching. The second hand and the box/papers are the only things that differentiate them from the regular Mission to the Moon. They aren't exclusive to Japan, and are sold at select Swatch stores in major cities for a 24 hour period (or until sold out) the day of the full moon each month. The next one is November 27th.

Nice to see you back… I’ve commented in the past on the Moonswatch and will say it again… it’s a toy and a gateway drug for the real thing. For the cost, I would choose a g shock square over this any day.

Yes, helpful indeed! But not my 16700, like he assumed. A viewer is eyeing it, and wanted to know what I thought about his perspective purchase. Anyway, that video will be coming out as soon as I can put it together. I'll be sure to give you both mentions in it!
As a teenager, on a vacation in Switzerland I was shocked to see a swatch store as I had bought one many years ago in the Caribbean. Interested, I walked in and they told us about the moonswatch gold (the Swiss lantern one). So the next day my parents and I waited and hour before it opened and got it! Now despite your negative view on it, I love it especially because I was having so much fun in Switzerland, and it was very nice to get a good watch that commemorates Switzerland in a sophisticated way. That’s my opinion but it is great to hear others (like yours) as well.
The Swiss lanterns version makes the perfect souvenir for you! Great timing!

Great question! No, there's really no place I'd worry about it here in Japan, as long as you have your wits about you.
And by "wits" I mean that you are conscious. There's a big drinking culture here, and it's not uncommon to see people passed out in the street drunk. And that's when people have their watch stolen. So, if you are going out for the night, and you know you're going to hit the bottle hard, I'd leave the watch at home.

It's personal preference. I like that bit of pink in the lume, but having the very first iteration would be nice too.
Could have had one in Taipei last month but decided to pass. I'm happy with my Ultraman. Will probably look for fugazi Moonswatches in China when I go in a couple months. Should be more fun.

Pretty much don't care about Omega. The seamaster stuck in the 90s like Ebel. The moonwatch is that watch everybody buy as present or if they don't what watch to buy, just to sell it a year later. It is boring, the other type of boring, not the Rolex boring. Any way have fun with the plastic hype train.
Omega sucks. Gimmick brand. Joke is on the fanboys.
