After finding your video, I looked and sure enough, her microphone is in front of her face and mine was off to the side - just like the "First Lady's" . I fixed it. What a difference. After my first ride with my cardo it was so quiet that I was almost regretting buying it and I got the JBL one too After seeing this I tried my helmet on without the padding and realized my speakers were about an inch away from my ears lol Now it's incredibly loud and having it at full volume is too much. I can't thank you enough!
Having the speakers in the correct position makes a massive difference to the level of sound volume. I just installed a Packtalk Edge JBL speakers in two HJC RHPA 11 and one AGV K6 helmet and the cutaways for the speakers in the liners we not in the optimal position in all three cases. When the speakers are not in the correct position i.e. directly next to your ear) you can have the volume up full and it won't sound that loud. Get the speakers positioned correctly and even at 20-25% of maximum volume it will sound loud.
The only issue I have is the holes where speakers go are not very good placement for speakers so I had to move them. After that volume was no problem. Guys I ride with do have to adjust the boom mic to get good volume, but it’s a directional mic. The fixed mic I use in my full face was great til yesterday where it was stuck on driving my buddies crazy. I have now switched to boom mic to see if that solves it.
I was having the same problem with my microphone volume. I went into the advanced settings and turned off intelligent noise block. I then restarted my unit and reset my app. That resolved the problem for me with the low microphone volume. I think whatever program they are using to block out wind noise is also affecting the voice level. Hope this helps
Great information! My bike came with 2 helmets, but I need to purchase one that fits me better. I will use a full face helmet as I will want the protection. I don’t have any problems hearing my wife speak to me as we ride, but I think a headset is still in our future.
Jenn- Hopefully those helmets were new when you purchased your bike. If not..Never, ever wear a second hand helmet. Always buy new and buy the best helmet you can afford that is both DOT and SNELL certified. Safety is non-negotiable and absolutely paramount and your brain is not something you can ever live without. A quality helmet is critical to injury management. That’s my spiel and I’m sticking with it.

hi! I have a problem: when I hear music alone everything is going fine but when I connect with another cardo, the volume of the music minimized a lot, even when we are not talking... BTW we hear a lot of noise from the street... anyone can help me please? Is a packtalk bold duo
@@andylew5965 in the app it’s automatically set to have music volume go to 50% or so of what intercom volume is. To change this go to Settings>Audio Settings>Volume Levels and it will be labeled “Background Music”
Thanks for making vid but you are incorrect to turn all the volumes and sensitivity up to full. Why do you think they are adjustable? They are there to BALANCE the inputs and outputs from the different sources. Comms with other rider, music, announcements, etc all need balancing.
I agree the place that my speakers are supposed to fit are not in a good place making it very hard to hear. I have to place my speakers in better position to my ears and then I have to adjust all volumes accordingly.

The microphone is just too bad. I took it off the helmet and tested yelling right into the side that takes the input, was nothing compared to a regular voice volume on my phone
@@malivuk007 what I did was put it like right on front of my mouth, as close as possible. At first it was weird but now I even forget is there. Downside is that is so close to my mouth that when not riding other people can hear my breathing sometimes By the way, don't take the spongy protector off the microphone, I tried that and experienced too much background noise but no volume improvement
@@OverBanned I faced the yellow arrow towards my mouth but nothing helps. People I talk to can barely hear me. It's terrible. Now I see that many people have the same issue. I contacted their support center. I am disappointed.
@@martinchristorin1016 Hey bro, you won't believe but it's fixed by itself. When I tested it I was indoors and must have been some king of interference. When I'm out in the open I am heard loud and clear.

Same issue here.. It's in mesh mode, in BT mode all music etc is fine
Get the cardo app. There's some setting in there that lowers music volume when you connect to other riders

Don't buy it. Its microphone like garbage and very bad! Its like police radio with always low volume. Im regret in order to buy it.
