I ADORE the pocket you sent! And the little care package inside was just what I needed. 💕 Pocket-inception (pocketception?) has kinda been a theme so far... 😉
My sister-in-law was stationed in Germany for 10 years when my kids were little many, many years ago. She used to send my kids kinder-eggs and other goodies that I could not read the ingredients to because they were written in German. This was pre-internet in the early 80s. My kids loved kinder-eggs because of the tiny toy in it.. the chocolate was seriously awful tasting, even the kids didn't eat it. More than kinder-eggs, my kids LOVED this particular goodie called Nutella. Now they chuckle at the fact they were enjoying Nutella long before it was ever heard of in US pop culture. Of course I was just glad to read what the ingredients were finally.
I'm still amazed that egg got there intact! But I'm glad you liked it so much, I was so happy when I got you! You'll have to let me know how the milka is, I haven't tried that one before. (Also there's descriptions for the teas in there, I don't know if you've found them yet!)
I must know how you made that pocket! I've been looking for something JUST LIKE THAT for some time and was so excited when it popped up on my screen in prefect perfection. 🥰
The problem with gift exchanges is that no matter how awesome the thing you give, the thing you get is always way more awesome lol. I love both Maire and Gilbert and low key want to start a channel just so I can take part in these kind of exchanges.❤
Same here..couldn‘t decide if I wanted to be offended as a German that his Britishness was worth the distinction… but knowing Noelle I think I‘m fine with it 😁…I still didn‘t understand what German word she was trying to say to the first chocolate, though?Anybody?
Yay! A Noelle video! Stringchronicity is lovely. Pockets inside pockets...how Inception 😁 She will adore the pocket you made with all the treats inside. Gilbert is an wonderful person. Love the pocket and treats he sent. All the good things from all the amazing peoples. Thanks for sharing your swap!
I watched Lady Rebecca's.... you all are awesome! Noelle, you have fulfilled many things and are awesome! No costume college or cocovid... you have made things great! Love the trip to NYC and Morgan's D&D characters.
Well made, Gilbert! That’s a beautiful pocket. And what wonderful goodies too! I admit that I was thoroughly amused that Noelle got something from the “animals of North America” set. I’m sure an alligator is far more exotic to the kiddos in Germany than to kiddos here, especially the ones who live in Florida or Louisiana. And Noelle, don’t sell your pocket short. I think it’s beautiful! I love that fabric. I’m sure the recipient loves it.
Hi Gilbert, What a wonderful pocket & goodie box! I love all the denim, cat & treats. Nicole, you made a wonderful pocket! So useful and tidy. I like that it matches one of your outfits from this year, and the alternate attachments.
That pocket you got is amazing..A real kinder egg👏. So far I've only seen real ones in Hispanic stores here. Regular stores carry weird ones with cream in cups . Milka is the bomb. Enjoy your goodies.
Pockets! The BEST possible swap idea! What a fantastic thing for creative folks to send to one a other. The pocket you made is so awesome. The sewing fillers were super well thought out. Gilbert did such a great job too! Loved this video.
Maire is pronounced mare, is a needlewoman (crochet, knit, sewing etc) and offers lots of insite with humour - worth checking out Stringchronicity. I love your take on the pocket, allowing for carrying choice. Birdy
Very cool! Got to the end with you playing with the alligator and all I could think (and say out loud!) was his cool jaw action was all wrong! Lol... their lower jaws are fixed and they move their upper jaw. I'm such a nerd! 🤓🤣
That IS interesting! Is it same with crocodiles?! I am NOT up to speed on either species ! I am a fan of the little "Caiman's" cause they are smaller (and less likely to bite me! Lol !)
It is like that for all crocodilians (alligators, crocodiles, caimans, etc). Also their jaw power is predominantly for closing their mouths, this is why you see handlers easily hold their mouths shut with just their hands as well as to why simple electrical tape is used for safety and handling and easily keeps their murder maws shut!
@@drywdanner6896 I DID wonder about the electric tape ! Thought they would have stronger jaws ! I guess the majority of their prey is attacked from below, so makes sense that their jaws open this way, but now I am going to have to check out a skeleton & look at the mechanics!
I love your pocket and the one you got! The kinder egg you got and the egg shaped kinder joy you can get in the US are not the same. The egg you got has the toy inside. The joy has 2 halves and one half is the toy and the other is the candy. And as you said the chocolate here sucks.
Hi Gilbert! This is a wonderful pocket!!! And a very good selection of goodies! Dear Noelle, the first thing is also chocolate 😋 love you merida pocket too!!
I am so happy to see the Merida fabric again. The design is much more visible in this video. Your pocket may look simple from the outside, but the hidden pockets are clutch!!
Really nice pocket you made there! Maire should be very happy with it. I did get the pocket you sent to me. It arrived this week and I can't believe how soft it is. I made the ties longer and I use it almost every day around the house. Thank you so much. I hope Maire likes hers as much as I liked mine. The pocket you rec'd was very cute and all of the goodies too! Lucky you! Take Good Care...
Enjoyed watching you make Stringchronicity's pocket (I watched her vlog today and saw her opening it) and really liked the one you received too. I look forward to watching more of these swaps.
Love the alligator bit at the end :) A pocket swap seems a lovely idea, too. I am making things for people, too, this holiday season as my friends are difficult at best to buy for and my budget doesn't really allow for that anyway, but making things....I have lots of supplies to make things out of. Gotta love a maker's stash. :)
I started cackling when you started singing the alligator song! I learned it at girl guide camp a long time ago and haven't found another person who knew it since (the arm actions are fun too!)
That pocket is so you, Noelle! All those delicious goodies, darn now I want something sweet. I would not mind if the pocket you made found its way to my house. :P xoxo's Sandie
You unpacking all the German treats made me a little home sick! I'll go visit my parents in Germany for Christmas though, so not too long! Thanks to Lidl I can also get German Lebkuchen in Finland as well and enjoy the nostalgic flavour. Your and Gilbert's pockets rock! Very cool idea!
I'm excited that you got someone who knew you so well!! From what I have seen on this channel I don't think there could have been a better pocket made for you!
What a fabulous pocket. I'd watched Lady Rebecca's one and was thinking how I could incorporate extra pockets into the one I'm planning to make and here you are with some answers! This swap is amazing and I'm looking forward to seeing everybody else's pockets.
I used to live in Germany, I’m over here drooling. Nice job on the pocket! Kinder eggs are still illegal in the States, you’ve been seeing Kinder Surprise eggs which are less of a choking hazard. The Maxi might be fine because that yolk is huge. That winterzeit tea is speculoos cookie flavor 😋 Like biscoff and cookie butter! (It’s a Dutch cookie, but they have them in Germany also.) Oh! And lebkuchen is like soft gingerbread. Enjoy your goodies!
In Europe, Kinder Surprise is the kind shown here, with the chocolate eggshell and plastic yolk with the surprise. The kind that’s legal in America is Kinder Joy.
I'm still at the start of the video, but yesss pockets-in-pockets is the *best* and I've been wearing 18c pockets-with-pockets (so my phone doesn't roll around, etc) over whatever I'm wearing for months now!
Your pocket is awesome, I love it. The one you received is also great, just totally different, and that is part if the whole deal. Thanks for the list.
I liked the fabric and design you used for your pocket. Was hoping you would model it. Gilbert's denim version great. Try not to eat all those goodies at once lol
We have food laws that inedible objects can't be completely covered by edible ones , so american kinder eggs are this weird egg shaped container with hazelnut crunch goo and a paddle to eat it with on one side and the toy sealed into the other
@@Dolthalion I’ve had a Kinder Joy once. It was good (or so I thought at the time, at least), but it’s _very_ different from a Kinder Surprise, so liking one is no guarantee that you’ll like the other.

Never heard the alligator song - super cute! - but I live in swampy SE Georgia, and there's currently a 4' gator in the pond in my front yard. (At most 2 football fields from my front door.) Born and raised here, and lived ~2/3 of my 43 years here, so I feel I have a healthy respect for them, but not outright afraid. Some years we have one, some years we don't. I liked your super functional pocket for Maire, and Gilbert definitely nailed yours, especially with the embroidered cat. Watched Morgan's D&D video earlier, and I have a question: on saving things from burning house, you said "a" cat, yet you've told us you have 7. Which is the lucky feline 🐈🤔?

I think the Kinder eggs in the states are Kinder joy, not Kinder surprise. Kinder surprise is still illegal as far as I know. The one you got was a big one which are the most fun!
We still don't have kinder eggs in the USA because of a 1920s (I think) law, but we have our own version in which the chocolate does not go around the toy, but it is split into two sides, the chocolate side and the toy side. Jealous of your massive egg.
