- Hello Friends!
a bunch of us got together to do a pocket swap! We could make 18th century pockets, utility pockets, weird pockets, normal pockets, whatever! Here's my video of the pocket I made and then also the unboxing of the one that I got sent. Thanks to Jeanette for the idea (that's also my middle name!) and to @Dolthalion , who was the person who sent me my pocket - he really knocked it out of the park! Please go check out all of the people below - I can vouch for them all being really great humans! The videos for this swap are not all going out at the same time, so some may be up and some may come over the next few weeks, just FYI.
If you liked this video, please give it a thumbs up and if you are new here, please subscribe!

#Pocketswap2021
I ADORE the pocket you sent! And the little care package inside was just what I needed. 💕
Pocket-inception (pocketception?) has kinda been a theme so far... 😉
I’m so very glad you liked it!! 💖
"he is British as a human" - why it sounds so funny🤣
Same here..couldn‘t decide if I wanted to be offended as a German that his Britishness was worth the distinction… but knowing Noelle I think I‘m fine with it 😁…I still didn‘t understand what German word she was trying to say to the first chocolate, though?Anybody?
My sister-in-law was stationed in Germany for 10 years when my kids were little many, many years ago. She used to send my kids kinder-eggs and other goodies that I could not read the ingredients to because they were written in German. This was pre-internet in the early 80s. My kids loved kinder-eggs because of the tiny toy in it.. the chocolate was seriously awful tasting, even the kids didn't eat it. More than kinder-eggs, my kids LOVED this particular goodie called Nutella. Now they chuckle at the fact they were enjoying Nutella long before it was ever heard of in US pop culture. Of course I was just glad to read what the ingredients were finally.
I'm still amazed that egg got there intact! But I'm glad you liked it so much, I was so happy when I got you! You'll have to let me know how the milka is, I haven't tried that one before. (Also there's descriptions for the teas in there, I don't know if you've found them yet!)
I must know how you made that pocket! I've been looking for something JUST LIKE THAT for some time and was so excited when it popped up on my screen in prefect perfection. 🥰
💙💙💙
@@TruFlyFox The video's finally going up tomorrow!
@@Dolthalion I'm so excited! I was going to try and figure it out but this is better. Thank you.
The problem with gift exchanges is that no matter how awesome the thing you give, the thing you get is always way more awesome lol. I love both Maire and Gilbert and low key want to start a channel just so I can take part in these kind of exchanges.❤
Yay! A Noelle video! Stringchronicity is lovely. Pockets inside pockets...how Inception 😁 She will adore the pocket you made with all the treats inside. Gilbert is an wonderful person. Love the pocket and treats he sent. All the good things from all the amazing peoples. Thanks for sharing your swap!
You are NO slacker, girl! You are the bomb at prioritization and resource management. Loved the mini-apron. 😉 What nice gifts you added.
I watched Lady Rebecca's.... you all are awesome! Noelle, you have fulfilled many things and are awesome! No costume college or cocovid... you have made things great! Love the trip to NYC and Morgan's D&D characters.
Those were awesome! Morgan nailed Noelle.
Oh yay, Noelle content WITH GILBERT!!! And as soon as I saw the denim, I was thinking, "Mr Dolthalion, you frigging nailed it!"
Pockets! The BEST possible swap idea! What a fantastic thing for creative folks to send to one a other. The pocket you made is so awesome. The sewing fillers were super well thought out. Gilbert did such a great job too! Loved this video.
Hi Gilbert,
What a wonderful pocket & goodie box! I love all the denim, cat & treats.
Nicole, you made a wonderful pocket! So useful and tidy. I like that it matches one of your outfits from this year, and the alternate attachments.
Well made, Gilbert! That’s a beautiful pocket. And what wonderful goodies too! I admit that I was thoroughly amused that Noelle got something from the “animals of North America” set. I’m sure an alligator is far more exotic to the kiddos in Germany than to kiddos here, especially the ones who live in Florida or Louisiana.
And Noelle, don’t sell your pocket short. I think it’s beautiful! I love that fabric. I’m sure the recipient loves it.
Go watch Marie’s video. She got Noelle’s. Marie also added an interior pocket to her pocket. Great minds…
@@sarahrosen4985, I did. The pocket she made was cool too.
Yay for working thousands of projects at once!! I'm in love with this fabric 🤩🤩🤩
An 18th century pocket made from multiple jeans pockets and belt loops? Brilliant! I have old jeans I've been wanting to make something from.
I love the pocket Gilbert made for you! And all that chocolate! This is a great collab. Can't wait to see all the pocketsssessss
I NEED to see how he made it ❤️🥰
I love your pocket and the one you got!
The kinder egg you got and the egg shaped kinder joy you can get in the US are not the same. The egg you got has the toy inside. The joy has 2 halves and one half is the toy and the other is the candy. And as you said the chocolate here sucks.
Oh no, I did not mean kinder joy. We also have straight up kinder eggs now! Chocolate still sucks.
that snack box is BOMB gilbert is the mvp 😭 and both pockets are amazing, the one you did and the one you got wow!!
That pocket you got is amazing..A real kinder egg👏. So far I've only seen real ones in Hispanic stores here. Regular stores carry weird ones with cream in cups . Milka is the bomb. Enjoy your goodies.
Maire is pronounced mare, is a needlewoman (crochet, knit, sewing etc) and offers lots of insite with humour - worth checking out Stringchronicity. I love your take on the pocket, allowing for carrying choice.
Birdy
If you were Irish and were called Maire (Mary in Gaelic) it would be pronounced Myra.
Very cool!
Got to the end with you playing with the alligator and all I could think (and say out loud!) was his cool jaw action was all wrong! Lol... their lower jaws are fixed and they move their upper jaw. I'm such a nerd! 🤓🤣
That IS interesting! Is it same with crocodiles?! I am NOT up to speed on either species !
I am a fan of the little "Caiman's" cause they are smaller (and less likely to bite me! Lol !)
It is like that for all crocodilians (alligators, crocodiles, caimans, etc). Also their jaw power is predominantly for closing their mouths, this is why you see handlers easily hold their mouths shut with just their hands as well as to why simple electrical tape is used for safety and handling and easily keeps their murder maws shut!
@@drywdanner6896 I DID wonder about the electric tape ! Thought they would have stronger jaws !
I guess the majority of their prey is attacked from below, so makes sense that their jaws open this way, but now I am going to have to check out a skeleton & look at the mechanics!
Hi Gilbert! This is a wonderful pocket!!! And a very good selection of goodies!
Dear Noelle, the first thing is also chocolate 😋 love you merida pocket too!!
Yes I have discovered this!! 🤣😂
Wow both pockets are amazing!! I must go find the play list!!!!
Really nice pocket you made there! Maire should be very happy with it. I did get the pocket you sent to me. It arrived this week and I can't believe how soft it is. I made the ties longer and I use it almost every day around the house. Thank you so much. I hope Maire likes hers as much as I liked mine. The pocket you rec'd was very cute and all of the goodies too! Lucky you! Take Good Care...
Gilbert's pocket, and package, was awesome! What a fun idea, can't wait to hunt out all the other pocketses!
That was awesome, but the final “rawr” GAVE ME LIFE!
Omg, how fun! I need friends who do fun things like this.
This swap was such a great idea! And I love pockets in pockets. XD
And funny that Stringchronicity also posted her video today!
Putting internal pockets into pockets is soooo smart why have I never thought of it!! Also I really want Ritter Sport and Lebkuchenherzen now!!
Enjoyed watching you make Stringchronicity's pocket (I watched her vlog today and saw her opening it) and really liked the one you received too. I look forward to watching more of these swaps.
I started cackling when you started singing the alligator song! I learned it at girl guide camp a long time ago and haven't found another person who knew it since (the arm actions are fun too!)
Yes! I learned it at Girl Scout camp!
I am so happy to see the Merida fabric again. The design is much more visible in this video. Your pocket may look simple from the outside, but the hidden pockets are clutch!!
my favorite part was definitely the sneaky smuggling of a giant kinder egg
Loki-gator!
That pocket is so you, Noelle! All those delicious goodies, darn now I want something sweet. I would not mind if the pocket you made found its way to my house. :P
xoxo's Sandie
Love the alligator bit at the end :) A pocket swap seems a lovely idea, too. I am making things for people, too, this holiday season as my friends are difficult at best to buy for and my budget doesn't really allow for that anyway, but making things....I have lots of supplies to make things out of. Gotta love a maker's stash. :)
Very awesome pocket! Well done Gilbert! That tea looks interesting. The container would make a beautiful pin cushion 😃
I’ve seen two pairs of pockets so far. Really great fun!
Watching this process and your thinking about the different sections, I'm realizing vintage pockets are just fanny packs you wear under your dress.
Yes indeed. Actually it’s the other way around, but yes. Also, LOTS of people wore their pockets on the outside too!
What a fabulous pocket. I'd watched Lady Rebecca's one and was thinking how I could incorporate extra pockets into the one I'm planning to make and here you are with some answers! This swap is amazing and I'm looking forward to seeing everybody else's pockets.
A pocket in your pocket... that is amazing!!! 🤯🥰💕
What a wonderful video!! I do love watching these swap videos so much. It warms my heart and you are all just amazing. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🖤🖤🖤👍🏽😊
Hi Noelle, I came back to watch your video after Gilbert posted his. He did a really great joy. Those tasty treats are a big bonus.
Ooooh, how exciting!!! I can't wait to see the rest of the pockets.
I loved the picket you made and adore Gilbert's too. I have several pairs of jeans that will be going under the scissors very soon!
I’m loving watching all of these. Thanks for sharing. I’m looking forward to the rest.
Yes, I know the alligator song.
That’s awesome!
The pocket you made was really pretty Noelle, as was the one Gilbert made you! I loved this collab
I used to live in Germany, I’m over here drooling. Nice job on the pocket!
Kinder eggs are still illegal in the States, you’ve been seeing Kinder Surprise eggs which are less of a choking hazard. The Maxi might be fine because that yolk is huge. That winterzeit tea is speculoos cookie flavor 😋 Like biscoff and cookie butter! (It’s a Dutch cookie, but they have them in Germany also.) Oh! And lebkuchen is like soft gingerbread. Enjoy your goodies!
In Europe, Kinder Surprise is the kind shown here, with the chocolate eggshell and plastic yolk with the surprise. The kind that’s legal in America is Kinder Joy.
@@ragnkja you're right! I'm sorry! I realized my mistake hours after I posted
Hi Gilbert! You're awesome!
You nailed it perfectly for her; So thank you from me because she deserves it. You
I'm excited that you got someone who knew you so well!! From what I have seen on this channel I don't think there could have been a better pocket made for you!
It’s so cool to watch you open Lübecker Marzipan Tee! Lübeck is about 10 min from where I live. 😄
lovely goodie box, the jean pocket is so cool, enjoy your day love
This swap is such a cute idea! I'm excited to watch all the videos and find some new channels in the process
You unpacking all the German treats made me a little home sick! I'll go visit my parents in Germany for Christmas though, so not too long! Thanks to Lidl I can also get German Lebkuchen in Finland as well and enjoy the nostalgic flavour.
Your and Gilbert's pockets rock! Very cool idea!
These pockets are so much fun!
I am loving these pocket videos. What a great idea 😁
Wow Gilbert made you an awesome pocket, and made of jeans so Noellle.
Awesome pockets!!! 🦘🦘🦘
Great job Gilbert!!
I LOVE MAIRE!!! THIS IS SO EXCITING!!! Hi, Gilbert!!
It's almost like secret Santa. 👍 Of not so long ago .
I'm still at the start of the video, but yesss pockets-in-pockets is the *best* and I've been wearing 18c pockets-with-pockets (so my phone doesn't roll around, etc) over whatever I'm wearing for months now!
Your pocket is awesome, I love it.
The one you received is also great, just totally different, and that is part if the whole deal.
Thanks for the list.
I liked the fabric and design you used for your pocket. Was hoping you would model it. Gilbert's denim version great. Try not to eat all those goodies at once lol
I love this idea! What fun!
Hi,I've seen a few of the pockets now but yours is the first utility pocket,💖
I only had to see cute embroidery and german chocolate and knew it was from Gilbert :). And Lebkuchenherzen are the best!
Maire is all kinds of awesome!
Never heard the alligator song - super cute! - but I live in swampy SE Georgia, and there's currently a 4' gator in the pond in my front yard. (At most 2 football fields from my front door.) Born and raised here, and lived ~2/3 of my 43 years here, so I feel I have a healthy respect for them, but not outright afraid. Some years we have one, some years we don't.
I liked your super functional pocket for Maire, and Gilbert definitely nailed yours, especially with the embroidered cat.
Watched Morgan's D&D video earlier, and I have a question: on saving things from burning house, you said "a" cat, yet you've told us you have 7. Which is the lucky feline 🐈🤔?
Whatever cat is my cat in Morgan’s fantasy world!
@@Costuming_Drama 😂🤣
I like that your pocket has pockets
The Alligator song!!!! It's by Dr. Jean and is "The Alligator is My Friend"! I had it on an old tape
I love this idea :)
Just got to love pockets. :}
Me - Yah Pockets, then OMG Lubkuchen Herzen - I hope they are the ginger ones :-)
And I need the bear! So cool!
We have food laws that inedible objects can't be completely covered by edible ones , so american kinder eggs are this weird egg shaped container with hazelnut crunch goo and a paddle to eat it with on one side and the toy sealed into the other
Ooooh you get kinder joys not kinder egg. They're like the disappointing cousin of kinder eggs.
@@Dolthalion
I’ve had a Kinder Joy once. It was good (or so I thought at the time, at least), but it’s _very_ different from a Kinder Surprise, so liking one is no guarantee that you’ll like the other.
@@ragnkja That's very fair! Different strokes for different folks and all that.
Manner wafers are the best, lebkuchen are gorgeous
I've gotta go watch Gilbert's video!
It's not up yet! I'm working on it at the moment, so fingers crossed it'll be up this or next week!
Super Nice!
This is the most planned out well organized 18thc pocket. I've only made one and considered adding compartments but thought I was being extra. Clearly not! Extra Pockies For ALL
you are NEVER extra. You add exactly as many pockets to your pockets as you need. No more, no less. You are essentially a pocket wizard.
I’ve been familiar with Kinder Eggs all 35 years of my life, and I was today years old when it dawned on me that the toy capsule was the colour of an egg yolk…
Inception pockets...it's brilliant.
Also...is there a mystical place where one finds out about these swaps? I love participating in this sort of thing...or is it just who you know/luck/Top Secret?
It's just friends talking to friends who are youtubers, honestly! :-)
Would I have eaten all the candy so fast that it would have just been a blur on the screen? Why yes, yes I would have. 🙃
,INCRÍVEL..ESPETACULAR..
omg i need a friend like Gilbert!!!!!
I’m drooling over the kinder egg. When I looked for a friend kinder surprise are still illegal in the US. :/
Oh man, I miss German herbal teas. I feel like in the US you mostly find two standard flavors (mint and chamomile) and a couple of really artificial sounding ones. A word of advice though, don't use the German teabags more than once, unless you want very mildly flavored hot water.
Hi Gilbert!!
🍀
Is the fabric somehow called Maire or are you saying Maire’s fabric…🍿🧙♀️
Those pockets are awesome !! Ima copy both!
Maire got fabric from my Merida Dress :-)
I sang the alligator song along with you :)
Hi Gilbert
(And her best Bad French John Cleese accent) it’s just one wafer thin mint.
It’s a YOLK! Lol
We still don't have kinder eggs in the USA because of a 1920s (I think) law, but we have our own version in which the chocolate does not go around the toy, but it is split into two sides, the chocolate side and the toy side. Jealous of your massive egg.
I think the Kinder eggs in the states are Kinder joy, not Kinder surprise. Kinder surprise is still illegal as far as I know. The one you got was a big one which are the most fun!
JUST A THIN MINT WAFER!
I almost choke on my tea with camel honey xD
If this Playlist isn't titled "Thankssss it has pockets!" I am going to be most disappointed
😃
