Dracule Mihawk's past is finally revealed in the latest One Piece spoiler. Dracule Mihawk or what we usually call Mihawk the eagle eye is the strongest swordsman in the world of One Piece. Mihawk himself was originally part of the Shichibukai who cooperated with the World Government.
However, with the Shichibukai system disbanded, he is now no longer a part of the group. As with some other great characters, Mihawk rarely appears in the story. That's why maybe many fans don't really know Mihawk.
Talking about Mihawk's past, until now it is still a mystery. However, with the story of the series coming to an end, it seems that Oda is slowly starting to reveal important information, including information about Mihawk's figure. This was revealed in the latest spoiler for One Piece chapter 1058, where Oda revealed one important piece of information regarding Mihawk's past.

What if Mihawk was chasing that gorosei swordsman? So he joined the marines to be closer so he could challenge him.
Why would the greatest swordsman on OP wants to chase a mere elder of the WG.
@@MarilaqueRider My guess would be that guy is from the void century and is possibly a legend from that era. That or he may have killed whoever trained Mihawk.
Mihawk went after the marines for all those swordsmen they brag on he just wanted a challenge and youd probably have to go hunt down all the good fighters
Nah I doubt he was hunting marines. Probably was hunting for them. In Marineford all the warlords other than Mihawk and Kuma hurt marines on way or another. He wouldn't care to avoid hurting marines if he was originally going after them.
