I've had the pillbox for 3 years, it's held up very well. Hazard4 released this for the Jeep back in December and there's been a grand total of... 1 review prior to Eddie. I haven't seen anything in forums either. I'm amazed they released this with next to no word and no previous product tie in. As for these, they look great. I would 100% not trust that velcro though. The OEM mopar headliners have a hard time staying up in 90-100 heat. These hold their own weight, plus whatever you put in it - they even market it as a gun holster overhead... I do not like the idea of the little baby elastic cords that hold it up if the velcro fails. Their whole marketing shtick is having "hardpoint ports" on their gear, to hard mount stuff to it with plastic bolts; they could have easily made a rigid formed plastic bracket that keeps this bag safe. However, they're also marketing this as a grab and go bag.. and if I buy it, I can't see myself ever taking it in and out. It's likely to never be removed onced installed.
Exactly what I need. Immediate access to an emergency ifak, seat belt cutter, whatever little odds and ends I need for overnighters camping in the wrangler.
One can also spray the roof side down with some 3M automotive headliner adhesive or equivalent to give added adhesion between the tape areas.

Love the mod ideas and Wayalife installs! They are the best and most concise I've seen. Any ideas for a Driver's seat mod to lower the front edge? Jeep designed these seats like an Adirondack chair with your butt down and knees up putting us shortys too close to the steering wheel trying to get a heel on the floor.
Sorry, I'm not sure that I can help you there. At best, you might be able to raise the rear up a bit to help give you the same results. Some large washers should help make this possible.

These look pretty Rad to me! Thanks!, new sub too! I was checking out a 2021 Willys today at a car lot and the inside of the freedom top was so hot I couldn't leave my hands on it for more than a few seconds. It was white with a black top and I'm sure the black exterior of the freedom top had a lot to do with that along with the 95 degree heat and full sun. I wonder if would help to also have the exterior top painted to match the body as well as a headliner to help with the heat transfer.
Any updates on the velcro strips staying attached to the top? Been reading reviews and hear people say that after a month or so it falls off. Wondering if I do these if I should just get some 3M automotive tape to attach the velcro strips
I don’t know if it’s possible, but if there’s anyway you can do a review on the Baxter oil filter adapter it would be awesome. I would really like to hear your opinion.
I wonder how these will do in extreme heat. I know you're in Az and I'm in FL. The extreme heat has always been difficult with any adhesive not melting off where it was once placed. I guess we'll find out when the heat really hits for the summer. I'm still on the hunt for a hardtop for our JT build, but when I do finally source one, I'll most likely do this upgrade if they stick.

Great review! I picked up a set of these after i saw your SEMA video showing them. Sat in the preorder line for a while but it was worth it. As a note, go ahead and order the highest temperature velcro you can now. Ive had to replace the stock velcro already.
@SoloTotoCoyote if you're looking for a permanent solution perhaps. One side of the velcro is sewn into the headliners so it may just cause more of a mess.

they are a great idea but they need better velcro. mine hasn't even lasted the start of spring in Florida. have to find some high heat velcro to replace it with.
I don’t know about having junk hanging over my head because I’m a few inches from 6 foot. But I don’t like hard top jeeps. But if you’re an under the average height and you do like hard tops. It is a somewhat of a good idea. But I don’t know about roll overs would it save you fiber glass from poking holes in you or the packs hit your head?
I don't know, of the friends that I have who are really tall, one who's almost 7ft, they all sit as far back as possible and with the seat reclined. Their heads are typically under the roll bar and not the freedom top panels. But, I'm under 6 ft and so none of this is an issue for me 🤪
You could be right. I'm in Nevada and it may not even work here but I'm hoping they do because I do like them. Either way, I'll be sure to let you all know if they don't.
Hey there. Great video! Unrelated query. Got the WAYALIFE windshield decal. No instructions. Haven't put one on before. Don't want to mess it up. Link or instructions available? Thank you! 🇨🇦😎👍🏻
My JL lives outside all year & sees temps of 110+ during the summer. I imagine these would be fine as long as they are empty & you don't pull on them - but I wonder if they'd start to lose adhesion & shift or droop if you start to weigh them down? Anybody have any experience with these? I like the idea and think theyd be great to store some items like a leatherman skeletool, small handheld radios (ie: TidRadio H3), or a small flashlight (surefire, olight, etc).
I live out in Nevada and we've been seeing temps in the 120 range over the summer. So far so good, they're still staying up but then, I don't have anything heavy inside of mine.
I want to buy this but oddly enough my Gladiator has a roof covering the rear seats as well. I do not see much benefit with heat and sound if I am only covering half of the roof.
I am fortunate in that if there's something I think is really great and I absolutely want on my Jeeps, I get. This would include a V8 or trailing arms or coilovers or 1-ton axles, etc. Needless to say, none of my Jeeps are running Portals. If I really thought they were so awesome, they would have been on all my built up Jeeps and over a decade ago and way before it became social media trendy. $25k is a LOT of money to spend just to still ride on factory axles and run on crappy stock suspension. Me personally, I'd much rather buy 1-tons and use the left over money to get wheels and tires and more. Yeah, they offer more clearance under the axles but if you're doing it right, your tires go on top of rocks and obstacles and not down the middle of your Jeep. But then, that's just me.
I guess....but, how long will the adhesive last in the AZ heat. Looks cool, and im sure you like it for the price you got it...but, at least review it after a year.
What I can tell you is that your concern in legit but since installing it on my Jeep, it's been able to survive Vegas heat just fine. Maybe in a year, I'll do a follow up review.
How tall are you? My head doesn’t have a lot of room to the roof now. I would think you could only attach very slim items, as my head would be bumping into them and driving me crazy if you used the molle, so I feel that is useless.
Yea I have these was one of the first to order them waited like a year and a half to get them after they kept pushing back the ship date which i would only find out if I bugged them. finally got them put them on and as soon as we had our first real hot day they were hanging off my roof and they had nothing in them except one had a pair of gloves. pushed them back up because I didn't want a roof covered in glue and there kinda staying on but I left them a review. they Did give me a call and told me if it happens again maybe they can send me new glue strips.
I purchased the 2 piece headliner from Hazard 4 a few weeks ago. I installed them as per your video and their instructions. Everything was great until it got really hot here in the Arizona desert. They started to sag. I contacted them about using Gorilla Mounting Tape or Duck Nano-Grab to reattach the headliner. They just responded. They repeated installation instructions and said they "offer" VELCRO® BRAND ADHESIVE 19 HOOK FASTENER (2-PCS) as a $12 replacement for one headliner. So, I have to double that amount. I am so disappointed. I will somehow get them reattached because I like how they provide useful storage space and reduce the heat radiating from the Freedom Panel but I am not interested in paying $24 for more sticky stuff that did not stick long.
Sorry to hear things didn't work out for you. Since posting up this video, I can say that mine are still holding up just fine and this in spite of the Vegas heat we've been seeing as well.
@@wayalife I wanted to give you and the other subscribers an update on my Hazard 4 two piece headliner. I completely removed both headliners from the freedom panels. What I saw was an incomplete seal between the headliner and the freedom panel. This was partly my fault for not getting enough pressure applied when installing the headliner and partly the install instruction that had me pushing through the top side and the bottom side of the headliner. I removed my freedom panels, placed them on the floor and installed Gorilla double sided tape where the headliner attaches to the freedom panel. When the backing for the adhesive was removed that was the glue side of each Velcro strip. The Velcro strip is attached to the headliner. I removed the Velcro strips from the headliner and placed the back side "glue side" on the double sided tape and rolled it down tight with a small roller to get a really good seal. That worked much better than leaving the Velcro attached to the headliner and then pushing it into place as I did on the initial install. Then I unzipped and opened the headliner and placed the portion of the headliner that attaches to the freedom panel into place on the Velcro strip that is now tightly attached to the freedom panel. I used hand pressure to attach the headliner and the Velcro strip together. I used the roller to ensure a complete attachment of the headliner and the Velcro. I zipped the headliner back up and reinstalled the freedom panels on the Wrangler. FYI, the driver side headliner was the one that came completely detached before. The passenger side stayed mostly attached but sagged and hit my wife's head. IMHO, the instructions should have been to attach the Velcro strip (removed from the headliner) to the freedom panel by removing the backing and then the headliner attached to the Velcro. That way I was able to get a complete seal between the glue side of the Velcro strip and the freedom panel because I did not have all the padding on the headliner to push through. So, if anyone has a problem with the headliner sagging or coming completely undone, try what I just described. I am now more confident mine will stay in place even if I attach several objects to it.
To be fair, I don't think I stated as much but on their product page, it is. That's what makes it useable as a 'portable' first aid kit or 'go bag' as I state in the video.
The top of my head is an inch from the foam headliner, so putting anything up there to add thickness or storage would no good. I really wish the seats went lower.
I've been using these for 3 months and the glue has stopped holding up with the summer heat. This is without any load. I mean, I have zero items in the units or hanging off of them. Despite this now every other day that I get in the car the droop off, yet hanging on from the bungies. Sometimes when I drive, they'll droop down and hit my head. Each time they come off, I just make sure to press them back on and they hang on for a while but then fall off. When I initially installed them I followed the instructions to the T. The cleaning, the polishing of the ceiling before applying the adhesive - basically followed the instructions to the T. Very disappointed after spending $200 on these. :(
Because I wasn't sure I wanted to apply that much force on the Freedom Top panels. But, to your point, there's no reason why I still can't if I wanted to do more 😎
Don't waste your money on these headliners. I've replaced the velcro 3 times. I've never been able to put anything in them. Mine are going in the trash!
Here are very pricey for what they are. My mountaineer backpack isn’t this costly and does more. I’d rather have a basic headliner instead of over priced stick on slim bags with Velcro mole.
@@stevedickerson5447 so far so good. I don't know if maybe I did a better job of cleaning the top and installing the velcro adhesive strips or if they changed them to something better but mine have been holding up well and for a few weeks now.
Man…. I love the idea and concept…. But without the back panels I can’t justify it…. I can’t buy just a back headliner, and I don’t need two front sets….. ugh what a conundrum
What is the weight rating before the summer heat and that thing falls on your head while your driving and get knocked out? Does the warranty cover the lawsuit? Dude, you really need to think about the products before you start hawking them on RUclips. C’ mon Man!
LOL - umm, this is just a RUclips video and one that nobody made you watch. Don't like what you see, DON'T buy it. Well shoot! Thank you for the heads up. I really do appreciate it.
How tall are you? My head doesn’t have a lot of room to the roof now. I would think you could only attach very slim items, as my head would be bumping into them and driving me crazy if you used the molle, so I feel that is useless.
Well, if you feel that this is useless, you best not buy it 👍
Very good Job Keep it Up 💯❤👍🙏
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video.
pretty sick!
Glad you like what you see 😎
Why does it have a handle if it is stuck to the panel? 🤔
The headliner is attached to the Freedom Top panels with high tenacity velcro adhesive strips. As in, they can be removed.
Sorry to hear it and hope the new strips help out.
great video , thanks
Happy to hear you enjoyed it 😎
Fabulous.
Glad you enjoyed what you saw 😎
What wait is that JET??? I thought you sold him when you got the first gladiator. I feel like we need a new family pic of the jeeps haha
This is our 392 ruclips.net/video/siJWI3ql9ZU/видео.html and we've had it for a while.
I don't understand the purpose of the carrying handle since the headliner is permanently adhered to the roof panel.
Not sure where you got the idea that they're permanently attached being that the adhesive strips are VELCRO
@@wayalife Ah! I missed that part. I saw the adhesive strips and thought it was permanent.
To be fair, I don't think I stated as much but on their product page, it is. That's what makes it useable as a 'portable' first aid kit or 'go bag' as I state in the video.
If you glue them to the rooftop, what is the handle for? Makes no sense to me why don’t you velcro them to the panels, too pricey
ummm, they are velcroed to the panels.
The top of my head is an inch from the foam headliner, so putting anything up there to add thickness or storage would no good. I really wish the seats went lower.
Bummer these wouldn't work out for you.
👌
Wow, bummer and I'm sorry to hear it. I don't know what I did differently but mine are still up on my top and without issues since making this video.
I would cut those handles off, I wish they offered them without the handles. I would not take them down once they are up
I'm sure there's nothing preventing you from doing just that if you were to get them.
A Eddy why not take your shoes off and stand on it for 1 minute when you have to push down on it
Because I wasn't sure I wanted to apply that much force on the Freedom Top panels. But, to your point, there's no reason why I still can't if I wanted to do more 😎
@@wayalife it’s hard plastic I think it’ll be just fine but was just a thought 💭 you got it!
Don't waste your money on these headliners. I've replaced the velcro 3 times. I've never been able to put anything in them. Mine are going in the trash!
Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with them.
Here are very pricey for what they are.
My mountaineer backpack isn’t this costly and does more. I’d rather have a basic headliner instead of over priced stick on slim bags with Velcro mole.
@@wayalifeDarn. I was getting ready to pull the trigger on buying them. @wayalife - how are yours holding up? How long have you had them?
@@stevedickerson5447 so far so good. I don't know if maybe I did a better job of cleaning the top and installing the velcro adhesive strips or if they changed them to something better but mine have been holding up well and for a few weeks now.
@@wayalife Thanks for the feedback! I still think I am going to give them a shot.
Cool product. Garbage adhesive tape.
👍👍😁🍺
Happy to hear you enjoyed the video.
hi what about the jeep gradiator
If you're asking if this will work on one, yes.
👍
Glad you enjoyed the video 😎
Jeep = Just Empty Every Pocket
WHAT!!Dang I shouldn’t have opted for the overpriced mopar liners 😢
The Mopar headliners are still nice.
Velcro will need to be replaced after 3 weeks, Cali weather 😁 just saved you $225
You could be right and if it does, I'll be sure to share that with everyone 👍
@@wayalife we counting on you ! 🫡
Man…. I love the idea and concept…. But without the back panels I can’t justify it…. I can’t buy just a back headliner, and I don’t need two front sets….. ugh what a conundrum
Does not seem like an exact fit
I may not be but I've never noticed.
すぐ剥がれそう
It's going to peel off soon
What is the weight rating before the summer heat and that thing falls on your head while your driving and get knocked out? Does the warranty cover the lawsuit? Dude, you really need to think about the products before you start hawking them on RUclips. C’ mon Man!
LOL - umm, this is just a RUclips video and one that nobody made you watch. Don't like what you see, DON'T buy it. That said, if this thing turns out to fail the way you just described, this in spite of the safety straps I show in the video, I can guarantee you that I'll be making a video about it. Now, do yourself a favor and have an ice cream or lay down for a bit before you fall and hurt yourself 👍
Love it! @@wayalife
