When a company provides you a sample of their product, along with a sample of their competitors products, tells you they are very confident in their product. Love the look and construction of the Hotheads liners. Buying a set today for my Gladiator Mojave.
I have HOTHEAD Headliners in my 16 Unlimited and never sanded the panels. Still holding today very good solid product. No complaints from me. Good video Brother.
I also had the same issue. But, hotheads took care of it quickly and professionally. The product itself is really good, jeep now is much much cooler and sound has improved. yes install a little pita to install but worth it and easy to do. I love mine and yes they do look really good. I'd recommend them in a heart beat.
Thanks for the review. I have had 2 sets of Hotheads and enjoyed them. Added the Sound Assassin as well. You should call Hothead headliners directly, they are very good about warranty issues and send new tape or panels if needed.
I tried them, but the odor was terrible. I was not about to put them in my new Jeep. I'm told they have had a lot of complaints and are sourcing new adhesive to solve this issue. I also had exposed stapes coming through the face of the headliner. Not for me.
Had Hothead headliner in my JK. Decided to try Design Engineering Inc(DEI) 50184 Boom Mat insulation in my Mojave. I feel it performs a little better, especially for noise/heavy rain/thunder.
Understanding that you would not be able to remove them i would consider using permatex when applying the velcro or whatever is attaching the brand you choose and also removing the panels from the jeep and applying with tjem flipped over and letting them cure for 24 hours before putting back on the jeep.
Just purchased a set for my 2022 JL. I appreciate your pioneering the Hotheads and breaking trail for me. Any chance I can get you to 'spot for me'? Just kidding. Now I know to sand the hardtop, wipe it down, wipe with acetone THEN install the sound attenuation strips and then the headliners on a warm day. Preferably in the sun?
I have the mopar on the s, they seem to work well. They came with my jeep for free otherwise I would have made my own. I do have bedtred for my flooring. Its great and easy to clean after my two German shepherds take a ride.
at the end of the day, who, out of the five products presented, offered the best value AND performance for the dollar. The MOPAR stuff looks like typical OEM supplied accessories with the OEM price. The other products looked like they tried to go a step further and offer some heat reflectance. What about rain? How well do these panels cut down on rain noise hitting the roof?
TBH the hotheads is very cheap, but ingenious. The multiple materials offers multiple medium changes, which is good for sound and temperature. And they use mass loaded vinyl strips too i think. All in all like 100$ worth of material but great use. That being said boom mat and mopar brands just need some vinyl strips too and boom.
When your panels failed to stay up why didn't hotheads customer service step up and provide you with the new tape? Why did you have to do it yourself? And the rear panel didn't really fit either. Looks like a FAIL to me especially at that price yet you gave them a positive review?
@@Berserkeroffroad Yea I know now but what happened was I might of accidently unsubscribed when you posted the video of your jeep engine dying, I missed at least 9 months of content. 😅
2 things: 1) your instructions you showed clearly stated 'no sanding required'. but included sandpaper?? they weren't missing a step, they were just bad instructions... 2) your head actually touches the roof when driving??! damn. lower your seat. you know the handle that people put the 'pull to eject' sticker on... that'd be the one.
Big thx for ur hardwork by Trying to help us ,,,, for me the look is the last thing i'd care bout bc a Jeep needs to be naked most of the times,,,,, a lot of people make reviews on headliners i feel it would be 100000000000 times better if most of them bought a Laser Gun to check the TEMP..at the end of the day we matter or Temp and noise,,,,, a laser gun before and after installation would be great that would help us to know where to put how money ,,,,,but by just saying ,,it feels better so n so ,,,,not enough in science world,,,,........ nice video thx again for ur help
Great Video... Thanks for the Review.... Got to remind you, using any Headliner outside of the Mopar (# Youpayforit) you will Void the Warranty on Your Top... And They’ll claim Your Engine Failed because of the Non-Mopar Approved Head Liner 🤔

Would it possible to use multiple headliners, like the hothead with the bedrug on top of it?
Shopping around for some liners right now, appreciate the thorough video.
What did you get

Can you put patches on the hothead headliners?
now that you had the headliners for a few years. how are they holding up? Would you still go with the same headliners?

where in Colorado are you from?
Great review. Although there's no way in hell I'd sand my panels
I have the mopar ones installed from the factory but they keep falling down. Seem cheap and thin. I wouldn’t recommend.

Thank you so much for this presentation!! Great video....
Thanks. My hotheads are on their way, and you just made me take the preparation more seriously.
How are they?
Is the jl road noise less than the jk

great video - anyone use the Hotheads along with the Toplift Pro - any issues?
Do you think hothead liner are better than the mopar ?

Great job! I sure wish the Mopar headliners would actually stick. Mine are all sagging even after cleaning and reapplying the tape. Very irritating..
Same with mine. Defiantly not worth the money.

Bedrug is likely the best value.
@@Berserkeroffroad value aside, which performed the best in sound reduction?

Why the plywood ? Seems a waste of weight.

same thing happened to a friend. He converted them all over to velcro and hasn't had an issue.
BTW the Rubi on had 25K miles on it when I got it.
The video sound is pretty good, beyond my imagination
thanks for the great review and laughs ! subscribed for the JL content 🤘🏻
0:13 where did he go , this new guy step in the video
My HotHeads fell down after about 5 years despite ample prep.
Nice thorough video, thanks !
I noticed that you haven't made a video for around a year until I realized I was no longer subscribed. I missed alot

How many years till your son turns 16? You planning to give him the jl and getting yourself a 2030 something jeep?. Wonder how they'll look in 2030.
9 short years- it's his if he wants it!

laser gun = Infrared Thermometer
Comparison? What comparison? Thanks...i guess
Nice job.
Excellent
So many options all expensive af
Agreed. I'm yet to find an inexpensive option that isn't DIY.
Thanks for sharing your videos again brother!!🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Thanks for your continued support!
Dig the channel name :D
Or buy a white Jeep with a white top if you live somewhere hot;) otherwise, well... your personal decisions have consequences.
What if your wife is hot all year 'round? Or worse...what if she's never been hot at all?
Looks like a garbage product. Thanks for the tip, lll go w Mopar.
