    Excellent work as always, Joe. The rock is a bit peepee shaped, but that's OK.. 😁 Please add more rock types, pebbles, boulders etc. I'm buying it.

    Simple, as animation should be. We can start telling the story, not fight the software ... please make more of these kind of addons in Blender.

    Hi Joe, can you add some instructions on how to create normals etc and a material in blender itself please?

    Have you considered adding a Erosion setting to this? Usually a noise & Caustic noise (cell noise in some cases) wrap will work with a simple pass two, unsure how that translates into blender.

    • @HavokSage
      @HavokSage  9 месяцев назад +3

      There’s already erosion built in, however the parameter isn’t currently exposed. For the initial release I wanted to keep things as simple as possible and streamlined.
      For next release I might add an Advanced settings shelf for more tweaking.

    Any tips on setting collision? I bought Brushify, Rockify and the Cliffs package and any time my player gets near the cliffs things go haywire. I have a basic understanding of collision and I’m able to get things working on other meshes and with foliage. I seem to just struggle with Rockify based assets.

    • @HavokSage
      @HavokSage  4 месяца назад +1

      Have you tried setting 'Complex Collision as Simple' in your static meshes collision settings. That will set it to use the Render mesh for collisions. Once that's working, you can decide whether you'd need a custom collision mesh for CPU optimization (these days it's usually not necessary).

    Another great tool, Joe. Not surprised at that, as your UE5 Brushify tool is amazing! Can I assume that if I wanted to, I could texture and refine inside Blender and get excellent results? UE5 is terrific, but I'm not currently using it. Thanks a bunch.

    • @HavokSage
      @HavokSage  9 месяцев назад

      Hi yes, once the modifiers are applied it's a blender object like any other. You can tthen sculpt, UV, texture etc to add more unique details.

    When pressing create ice, there will be two messages "Cube Object Has modifiers
    , All Modifiers will be removed" and when remesh, the Modifiers will be deleted and the stone will still have less geometry and lose the detailed shape of the stone.
    Not knowing how to fix it, I tried adding a manual remesh tool but the results were okay, not as beautiful as your instructions if adding a manual remesh.

      The plan for the next version is to gather all bug reports , feedback and feature requests and decide what is most important. Then implement those.
      More presets and more advanced setting control is a top priority.

      The plugin is very blender centric as it requires the underlying geometry nodes system to function. At this point the focus will remain on blender for the time being.

    • @HavokSage
      @HavokSage  Месяц назад

      You need to use the Remeshing feature to create Game-Ready meshes. Production of assets vs real-time performance are two separate things.

    Honestly AI will soon do this for you and all this hard work and wasted time will be a thing of the past. Those of us who do not have the time to learn, will have AI to time hack our lives.

    • @g10118
      @g10118 9 месяцев назад +2

      No, it really won't. AI still fails at handling relatively basic organic structures in 2D, let alone 3D. Stick to your area of expertise (roblox) and stop spreading misinformation about artist workflows and tools that produce believable results and actually work in the here and now. You are an underage child (quite literally) who doesn't have any knowledge or experience with this subject. Or AI.

      @@g10118 I think you are imagining I am my son who does the gaming. I have done plenty of work in this area and development in Unreal Engine. You have no idea, AI is just around the corner with creating this stuff. I am not spreading mi's-information, lol. You use that term like Trump uses fake news... are you by any chance a new age social justice warrior? I have also done plenty of programming and I work as a Scientist and with Crypto assets. @@FesteringRatSub Should probably use your own youtube account like an adult then and not post childishly naive comments that expose an obvious lack of applicable knowledge. Anyways, in your example, the only thing of note is entirely reliant on NeRFs. In other words, asset specific, real-world data inputs and not drastically removed from photogrammetry workflows that we've had for over a decade without any 'AI' involvement. Actual, fully AI-hallucinated geometry is terrible once you really inspect it rather than just looking thumbnails in a clickbait youtube video. The second video is just using displacement maps from AI-generated nonsense, a 'workflow' that isn't tangibly improving on basic sculpting and also produced messy, basic mirrored mesh nonsense geometry that isn't really suitable for a real-time rendering engine outside of one-offs rather than practical application. it is not AI generated geometry and it shows nothing revolutionary while greatly lacking in tangible artistic merit due to being a random mishmash of nonsense.
      Show your actual work, something you've done and implemented, not clickbait youtube sensationalist nonsense from people who don't have any clue how this all fits together. Unlike trump, I use misinformation correctly by applying it in reference to misrepresentations of reality.
      You are free to sit back and wait for the AI-hallucinated future where you don't have to do any work. Meanwhile, people that are actually making stuff in the here and now will continue to use the functional workflows that we have to produce useable results with tangible functionality.
      I think we are done here, 'scientist working with crypto assets', 🙄might be the least credible way of asserting professional experience that I've ever heard. You clearly lack practical experience with DCC and don't have any idea what you're looking at in the video you linked.

      I’ve no doubt that AI will make significant advances in the coming years. But there’s still a huge amount of ground for it to cover before it can replicate results like these. In the mean time people need solutions like Rockify.
      There’s also the possibility of Rockify and similar plugins incorporating AI in the future. This is something I’m actively researching on a daily basis.
