I have an idea of course someone may have already said this I don't quite feel like searching the comments though but as an insurance if you're painting a car I would go out and buy some three-quarter inch PVC piping and slip together a frame that you can push against the walls and semi attach it that way if you lose air the system won't come crashing down on your freshly painted cars or parts....would be very simple to build basically a PVC box inside of it that way you can cut the air and let the thing droop down on it without damaging your work.... but don't permanently glue your PVC piping just slip fit everything together
100$ for 1,000 square feet of strong poly..same thing marijuana growers use for grow rooms. then like 30-50$ in wood and you have a paint booth. and plenty of poly... can make it so you can take it down and reuse it too.
Wow Gary, we think the same. I just read your comment and it's almost exactly the same as mine. I didn't steal your idea...honest. It just made common sense to me to suggest the pvc. It was something I had thought of immediately after he erected the booth. It's what I would do... Great minds think alike.
or use guide ropes via some d-rings that any doofus would have specified to be integrated in a custom build like this. this guy is beyond doofus level though.
yes, a few poles, and ropes on outside ...to support in case of power failure, and to tie the darn thing down so the wind doesn't lift it (those little stakes he put in, aren't going to help much)
I was thinking. Put this aside ur university and forget hostel rooms live in there just put some solar panels on the roof buy a small car to park inside (optional) and ur good to go
I bought the same one but I don’t have a inflator so I had to blow it up the old fashioned away .. I’ve been at it for years... and I’ve lost a whole Lung.
When you take it down, make sure it is completely dry and then invert the blowers. They suck out all the air. It works for bounce houses. It should work for that too.

Why not much room? Unlike a solid structure, you can press your back into the entire structure to create more room. Also the windows are offset giving you additional space. What a great idea!! Unfortunately, I have no use for it.
Tie a stick to that front zipper. Why are you climbing around on ladders to get the door opened and shut? Run PVC pipe across the booth, and tie them to the D-rings. That will give you additional support, and a place to hang light objects. Use lights on stands... Don't tie a hot a$$ light to a D-ring, it will melt a hole in the plastic support.
Fold it and roll it toward the end with the hole in. Then use ratchet straps to hold it together. I used to do this every weekend with bouncy houses and inflatable race tracks.
Better to build a simple rectangular PVD frame will pull pins, for the inside of booth. You can simply assemble once booth is inflated and then take down if you decide to deflate.
Samcrac, IMHO what you need to work on now is your spray technique when you paint. How far to hold the spray head from the work surface, how to adjust the spray for the smoothest paint flow, etc. The hardest thing for me to master when I started painting cars was to have patience and not spray the paint on too heavy and get runs in it (like the ones you showed). Always spray the longer length of panels like those bumpers. As you make your spray pass, start beyond the end of the bumper about 8" and spray down the length of the bumper plus about another 8" past the other end before you release the trigger. Never start your spray somewhere on the panel, always start and stop your pass off of the panel. Practice with primer and then work your way into your color coats and clear coat. When I was a teenager I used to go to the dealerships body shop after school and sweep up for the guys, clean their paint guns & stuff and they would stay a couple of hours once or twice a week and teach me how to weld emblem holes, do hammer welding, mix body plastic the right way, mix paint correctly, blend panels and lastly how to paint an entire car in just an hour or so with a perfect smooth and even finish. I probably spent 40-60 hours learning and practicing and I was capable of doing professional work on my own cars.I think it would be worth your time to find a body shop that would let you help them/practice a little as they teach you the tricks of the trade. With that spray boot and some good prep/painting techniques you are going to be able to do some impressive repairs and even complete repaints that won't break your budget! Will be watching you! Oh yeah, PROTECT YOUR LUNGS MAN! You only get one pair and they need to last you a long time....
Spraying 8" past either end is kind of wasting paint, spraying it in the air. Also, if you have to start beyond the end and end beyond the end, what do you do when you spray the side of a car? Do you run from one end to the other with each stroke?
Sam, hook up your shop vacuum to the structure inflation ports first thereby knocking down the booth. Then apply vacuum to the fresh air input port. That should take it down to foldable. In the bag it goes.

Make sure to test the plastic and internal air for possible surface static buildup. If static does become an issue you might have dust and paint spray problems. At the very worst, you might have an explosion hazard from the paint air mixture being ignited by a static spark. If it is an issue you can have the interior lightly premisted or have a humidifier set as high as the paint conditions allow. You can also run a grounding wire from your spray gun.
Nice thing actually! But use the small room when you enter the spray area, not a good idea to keep open up to the outside all the time.I think reversing the fan when deflating the thing would make it a lot quicker and completely empty it out, although getting it back in to the small bag probably won't happen anyway =)Manufacturer and cost?
When deflating those bounce houses they have reversible fans that suck the air out of em. Even an old shop vac could help. Once again with an air line fitting that would also help you could use a foot pump and pump the air out like that as well.
U need to learn how to paint before u go wasting money on a booth. My cousin is a professional and paints outside at home all the time. U obviously don't know how important prep is over an inflatable spray booth
and only real fail though is the car entry....you should just have to unzip it to 8' and then roll it up. Shouldn't have to need a ladder to undo it. In fact, they could probably have just put velcro down the sides and left the top attached.
Lol I was sitting there screaming this in my head as he sat there forever talking with it open and driving cars pointlessly in and out. He's a smart guy, but, everyone tends to not think things through sometimes.
Lynne Dunlap the filter is so there isn’t overspray in the booth and to clean the fumes from getting overspray outside of the booth most booths are inside a shop not outside.
@@stony62ss10 I've painted in paint booths before, I know what they are and how they're used, and how they operate. I was addressing the filters he showed behind the Velcro that he lifted.
@Lynne Dunlap. Yep. Not to mention you could get fined for using this in residential areas not zoned for this type of thing because of that. I used to be an auto body repairman many years ago, as well.
I mean, it certainly should have an easier life than a similarly built bouncy castle , i've seen multiple adults jumping in one at once before, that's gotta put a lot of stress on the seams but they last year after year under commercial and rental use...
I find your application technique a bit weird dude. Don't know if you're a pro painter, but I've always been taught to do long continuous strokes from side to side with a 50% overlap rather than stopping and starting at a mid-point on the panel. I only got a bit of you painting the blue on the rear bumper, but it would surely end up patchy spraying like that.
Mr. Pecker here is 100% correct. There is no way to properly spray any finish starting & stopping in the middle... if you dont spray it like a machine would, you're doing it wrong
I bought one second hand $800, for all you nay sayers they work great. I use to build my own out of plastic, conduit, and A/C filters, to time consuming. Lay it out, Plug in (2) blowers and in 3 min you have paint booth in your yard, if your concerned about elect cost , you haven’t priced paint have you!!!!!!! Buy one you won’t regret it.
Pretty cool idea 👍.. But imo the filters are not under vaccum so they aren't filtering anything coming in bubba..it's probably carbon impregnated filter material to capture volatile organics going out into the atmosphere..If you have fresh air blowing in it's under positive pressure and forcing air out..
The air goes into the booth through the side by side filters and exits on the 2 filters opposite each other, that's how spray booths work, clean air in through filters and dirty air has to go out through filters because it's "better for the environment"
I'm two years late, but have been playing with the idea of getting an inflatable booth and this video was super helpful to see how it would work for me. Awesome video!
Two things that would be a nice feature for this booth. One, is a way to shut those blowers down and booth still be inflated. Two, a way of reversing the blowers to draw all the air out of the booth. If it does have those two options, I sure didn't notice it.
What I did for painting outside on many cars that I done and was told many years ago is to add a little liquid off to the paint before you spray it.. works great without any problems at all
Why do people feel the need to pee in this mans cheerios and constantly be negative? Everyone is aware of the consequences of the scenario you mentioned. And if a tornado comes down your street when your inside your real official $100 thousand Dollar paint booth , You'll be equally as f***** ? So what's your point?
That's why you have a plan B. PVC pipe inside to hold it in place or some rope on the outside to hold it in place. Just in case breaker pops or power goes out
@samcrac There are 2 relief zippers on each side to quickly deflate the paint booth. Check the bottom right and left edges for a a 4 foot velcro strip that is covering the zipper.

I mean, if you are going to do that, you might as well avoid buying the booth altogether. Just create the PVC box and lay down your own plastic on it.

Just make a PCV skeletal structure on the inside to protect it from accidentally collapsing. Should only cost a few bucks.

J Blob No but one of the Model 3 assembly lines is in a massive tent like structure outside.
Keyring and slide in pole
Fold it and roll it toward the end with the hole in. Then use ratchet straps to hold it together. I used to do this every weekend with bouncy houses and inflatable race tracks.

i would install an aluminum frame inside the Tent, and fix it at the hooks. for secure and better nerves
I gotta call BS on being able to paint an entire car in an hour
Y'all just blow in from stupid town
This was insightful. I've always wanted to paint but never wanted to waste the funds on senseless parts
nothing humble about you why profess it?
Spraying 8" past either end is kind of wasting paint, spraying it in the air. Also, if you have to start beyond the end and end beyond the end, what do you do when you spray the side of a car? Do you run from one end to the other with each stroke?
Should probably get a vacuum to help deflate
My air mattress runs the pump in reverse for this. I'm surprised they dont have the same thing.
@@n01928 you just attach it to the inlet - thats why its the same shape as teh outlet

Sam, hook up your shop vacuum to the structure inflation ports first thereby knocking down the booth. Then apply vacuum to the fresh air input port. That should take it down to foldable. In the bag it goes.
or maybe the fans could be wired to reverse.. thereby creating a vacuum.

That thing is sick man! You could have a party on there.

Fold the door over itself so the wheels don't tract dirt into the booth.
Use a shop vac to remove the air and help to compact it for storage.
So tell us more about the bounce house manufacturer that’s building one for you at a custom size...
Surprisingly well thought out...that’s pretty impressive
and only real fail though is the car entry....you should just have to unzip it to 8' and then roll it up. Shouldn't have to need a ladder to undo it.
In fact, they could probably have just put velcro down the sides and left the top attached.
@Matt if he tripped a breaker with the sprayer, since most circuits are 15 amps, I'd say 5 amps each, or about 550 watts (watts = amps x voltage)

The filter is to keep the paint fumes and from getting into the environment, it's not to keep stuff out.
Lynne Dunlap the filter is so there isn’t overspray in the booth and to clean the fumes from getting overspray outside of the booth most booths are inside a shop not outside.

You have a great attitude and independent spirit. Keep up the good work.
Oh yeah, just sayin'
Not neccesarily true, depends what line of paing you are using. Solvent base paint is applied differently than waterborne paint.
Just saying
All about feathering the fan at the end of short strokes for an easy uniform blend. Just my opinion based on experience of spraying.
Mr. Pecker here is 100% correct. There is no way to properly spray any finish starting & stopping in the middle... if you dont spray it like a machine would, you're doing it wrong
Your acually supposed to go over a lil bit on each panel, so you dont get thick paint pile up on the edges or doors or panels
Daniel P was thinking the same thing so they need a filter on the air inlet to prevent blowing in dust and bugs into the booth.
Yep. And yep.
Not sure which but i saw a company made one of these with built in air exchanger Although im sure it cost much more than this
The air goes into the booth through the side by side filters and exits on the 2 filters opposite each other, that's how spray booths work, clean air in through filters and dirty air has to go out through filters because it's "better for the environment"
Forced air units work under the same principal, they filter particulates fairly decent.
That vintage polo tee tho is fire
The cool thing is when it deflates ...... and lands on your pain job , it leaves a really cool psychedelic pattern on your pain job .
