    • @backyardchevy328
      @backyardchevy328  2 года назад +2

      Well p0158 is normally related with an issue with a oxygen sensor on bank 2 sensor 2..but if the purge solenoid triggering code p0497 is stuck open that could cause a vacuum leak causing the voltage on that oxygen sensor to be high in response..so i would focus on code p0497 first

    • @backyardchevy328

      That could be many reasons, very unlikely itd be a purge valve to be causing those issues, for it to be causing that it would trigger a check engine code...i would lean towards a sticking idle air control valve..i have a video that explains how it works and how to check em..and that could make it hard to start

    My 2005 Honda Civic lx will turn off if I open the gas cap while running. It takes a while to start every time I fill up. Do you think this is the cause ? I replaced the whole canister assembly. • @backyardchevy328
      @backyardchevy328  3 года назад

      Yea that might be an issue with the purge valve..as u fill up if the purge valve is stuck open itll allow all those vapors into ur engine basically over riching the fuel mixture making it hard to start or not wanna start at all...also if u open the gas cap ur allowing it to create a huge vacuum leak so yes thatll also cause it to stall
