@@generalzod2479 She wrote it for Port Wagoner when she wanted to continue her career as a solo artist without him (they performed and recorded together a lot before that). How do you know she’s cheated on her husband?
Dolly's version and this are tied for #1 in my book!
That literally made me cry 😢 my husband sang rock and roll, and he’d get up in the morning and play the piano and sing to me while I was getting ready for work. He has stage 4 cancer and has only weeks left. Oh how I wished I could hear him play and sing again
I grieve with you. 😢
Praying for your husband and you ❤❤❤

YES!!!
He is just MAGIC!!!!! In the 80is, Im not so god in english, but I LOVE ERIK1!!!!!!!!! He is a STAR!!!!!! Love his voice and songs!!!!!
Never heard a male rendition of this song. The range of his vocals was amazing… kinda like a mix between Whitney Houston & Steven Tyler. ❤ it!
A mix of Whitney, Steve Perry, and Skid Row. Or maybe just all Erik. Perfect.
Ultimate compliment - thank you!
So true!! My first crush was Steve Perry 🤣🤣 I’m old. Skid Row is as epic as Dokken!
@ErikGronwallOfficial ❤
The guy can sing, no matter the genre. Wow!
I`m Sooooooo proud to be a Swede!!!! He is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is now Erik's song. He's made the definitive version. Absolutely sensational! ❤ from🇦🇺

😂😂😂 Not a chance, Dolly wrote it and Whitney perfected it.
@@undersiege1346he blows Whitney out of the water, and doesn't even need cocaine to do it. 😅
Awesome, check
Out Josh weathers for another killer cover, him and his tele Kessler theatre
wow, a male rock singer, it blew my mind
Does anyone have doubts that wherever they are, Whitney Houston gave him a standing ovation (Proud, certainly)?
Ask Dolly Parton
Dolly one who wite song.so it Dolly give the ok
Your comment gave me chills. No doubt at all ❤
@@itsjustme7979, Thank You.
Dolly Parton might!!
Wow, you have an amazing voice. My aging metalhead husband was listening to me playing your various covers. When I started this Whitney Houston cover he said, "no way that's the same guy". By the end he was asking for your name. It's so rare to hear a great rock voices in (Dec) 2024. I hope at some point you tour Texas. I miss great concerts with real voices not using auto tune. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Happy New Year! And, may 2025 be your greatest Year of monetary rewards and success!
Dolly Parton NEEDS to see this. She would adore it
Why Dolly Parton?
@@tashashouse she did the original.
She wrote the song.
Beautifully done! Great to hear a male version of this classic song! Thank you! 😎🎙🎶
Kenny Rogers.. just saying..
thank you!
I think this version is by far the best. That's just my opinion though.
I too love his version...it's my favorite of all the renditions out today!❤
Wasn't expecting such a good performance on this one. I am baffled. He nailed it.
This may be the ONLY time I thank the YT algorithm…you sir, are a phenomenal singer and performer! A real powerhouse… Truly incredible!
I'm 61 and that was the best male vocalist I've heard in my life.
Yeah, I'm inclined to agree.
he won Swedish Idol way back if i remember correctly. I remember one of the judges said he would give his arms to sing as good as this guy. And i can tell you, he is even better now then back then. Simply wow!
Check out Tommy Johansson as well. Former guitarist from Sabaton. Multi talent. Vocalist, Guitarist, Base, Piano and drummer.
Steve Perry destroys him
I'm 61 also. This man is very good. You should check out Dan Vasc.Metal covers of a wide range of genres.
Best rock singer of this generation. No doubts. I am just absolutely amazed.
the guy is a great singer but if you want the best rock singer of this generation> Dino Jelusick..check him out
@@borisjavor4059 Tommy Johansson and Dan Vasc are still alive
Erik, the most beautiful song that shows every strength of your voice ❤️ Powerful! I had chills through this entire song.😘 You are more talented than you know ❤. XOXO keep SMILING!!! (The ending of this song, you really show the power in your voice!) GOOSEBUMPS!!!
You again!!! THANK YOU!
LMAO 🤣 Me again!! Is that a good thing or bad thing 🤔🤔 Well regardless you'll get to see miss Late and always goofy! I'm not going anywhere 🤪🤪 xoxo keep smiling 😊
I have said since the ‘70’s, when rock singers sing ballads, they are AMAZINGLY INCREDIBLE! You sir have mastered your singing abilities. Well done!
yes and thank you Erik Gronwall, how I miss rock vocalist who are real singers... been a ling time
He did great! Dolly Parton seems to be happy if anyone takes one of her songs and does it their way. She is a very gracious lady.
In the 80`s I LOVED Whitney but this guy!!!!!!!! OK I`m Swedish and soon will be 69 years old
Wow….just wow. I am a 53 year old widow. Lost my husband of 38 years suddenly a few months ago. This just made me smile and my heart race. What talent and mastery. Thanks for sharing with us.
❤
Hello Kristy, how are you doing hope your staying safe?
Amazing job. He’s not the first metal singer I’ve heard who can do an amazing ballad. The roughness to his voice takes this to the next level.
If you want to hear another great one, Disturb's version of Sound of Silence.
@@tracyperez1755 yes, I've listened to that one many times. Great one.
...and here I thought only Witney could bring me to tears with that song. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent.
Oh my goodness...this is just stunning. Will never listen to any other version again. So powerful, passionate and emotional 🙏❤️❤️
I am sure Dolly is proud to see how far this song has come through in the decades.
It’s touched every genre.
Beautifully done,Eric. ❤
