Can’t get enough of this dudes voice. Love how there’s crisp, clear sounds from the drums and sax merging with that rough, almost sinister feel from the voice and bass. Just so damn good.
Not sure why the producers of the studio albums can't capture this type of sound on the records, something is missing from the album's compared to this amazing live sound
Yes, agree completely. I do love the albums as well - this song particularly stood out as exceptionally good live though. Everything just flows… and it’s more gritty, which I love

t was all a dream But it was so nice I had a nice house And such a loving wife We had a little dog Such a little dog Oh but it reminded me of a large dog Just in miniature size And I saw life Without upset family members It was so clear I still remember I’d risen from the fiery embers Risen from the fiery embers Well, I could see That in this dream I did it all with the help from my peers And I said all I got I got from the Help of this wonderful society I want to thank you For all your love and support I never made it No, my father never made me do sports And I’m so glad, I’m so glad I never wandered down the wrong path And ended up some kind of addict Or a loser or some kind of some kind of Some kind of psychopath Just like you I could have ended up just like you But I woke up from this dream I realized I was still sitting right here In this same chair With the same fucked up people That surround me
The narrative of this song is great; it describes a life of dreams with a beautiful house, a loving woman, a cute dog, a happy family, and friends who have helped him achieve everything he has. It expresses immense gratitude for the love and support received during that process, and despite his father not having taught him discipline or not being present in his life, he managed to move forward and didn't end up as an addict, a loser, or a psychopath like other people who took the wrong path. But then, it takes an unexpected turn and mentions that it was all just a dream, and in reality, he has nothing, only an infinite hatred for that materialistic and unscrupulous society that's messed up. It also talks about not finishing his studies and being glad he didn't, because had he accomplished it, he might have become an addict, a loser, or some kind of psychopath like those messed up people with airs of perfection that surround him.
Yeah I love this song and these lyrics. Little note: In the first part, he has actually does have the discipline and competitive streak, and thanks his father for it. "I'd never [have] made it, not if my father never made me do sports."
what I love about it though, is that it isn't just this black and white division, but you can also hear him expressing a true longing for the things he describes in the first part, even while he tears them down in the second part, it still feels like in the end remorse and nostalgia are the strongest emotions.
I cannot get enough of this song!!!! My boyfriend and I listen to this song all the time!!!!! Best lyrics: we had a little dog such a little dog. But Reminded me of a large dog, just a miniature size. His voice is so raspy and clear!!! So jazzy sounding!! Love this group!!!!! I need to see them soon!!!
