Hey mate, i really wanna box and i've been running and using the jump rope alot getting fit, but as soon as i start hitting the bag my left rear delt flames up straight away with pain! So annoying because i'm not tired, and i've been hitting the bag for awhile now but i have to stop cause the pain gets so intense... have you had this? Cheers
@@rgwergegcx yeah i'm orthodox throwing jabs with my left hand, hooks don't affect it as much, mainly throwing jabs it flairs up... probably after like 2 minutes, then i push through and it just gets worse..
@@BOXEO1 make sure your shoulder comes up to your chin right at the end of the punch and that you're measuring the shot so that you get full extension without pushing the bag. The sound the punch makes should be like a gunshot not a dull thud. Aim for speed and snap the fist back to starting position immediately as it connects. Its a complex movement. Theres alot going on in a tiny fraction of a second. Concentrate on getting the jab right first before you mix in any other shots and get the shot right punching air before you work the bag.
@@rgwergegcx appreciate that bro, but have you had this pain?.. ive had shoulder injuries from playing rugby my whole life and still play at a high level now, but it only gets sore jabbing and i wanna switch sports now to boxing or muay thai, hopefully it will go away lol...
@@BOXEO1 well I've had niggles most places and it was so long ago since I took up boxing that I honestly cant remember whether that was a particular issue for me. What I always say to guys starting out, especially to bigger dudes, don't worry too much about power, because if the shot doesn't land then its just more waste. Try and see a physio if you can because shoulder injuries are the worst. If you have pain stop. It is impossible to overtrain footwork and that is what wins fights in boxing.
Brilliant workout!!
This was great. THANK YOU!!

Are you a right-hander throwing jabs from an orthodox setup? Or are you throwing more heavy hooks? When does it hurt?
