I like the simple stitches that you teach us, or remind us of. These easy and quick stitches are delicate and work up fast for baby preemie blankets. Thank you for this beautiful stitch.
Tbh I mainly watch your channel because of your scottish accent, I just love it SO MUCH 😍😍🥰🥰 Your teaching skills are also awesome though. Keep up your great Videos!
What a simple yet lovely stitch. I just used this stitch to make a beautiful little newborn pixie bonnet. It turned out beautiful with the little ruffle effect around the face opening. Thank you Alison for another wonderful, practical, simple and lovely crochet pattern. ❤️🧶
Thank you so much for this beautiful stitch. My daughter is expecting a wee girl on January 6th tho she will come early because of pregnancy complications, and after a run of 8 boys and 1 girl, I’m so excited to be making a blanket for my 2nd wee grand daughter, I have been a silent watcher of all your tutorials and love them so much. I have arthritis in my hands so I’m a bit slow but I get the job done in the long run. So Alison I really appreciate your Chanel’s as I’m partially sighted too. I can’t thank you enough. ❤️🌸❤️🌼
Very pretty and easy stitch pattern. Open and airy for single stitches. Would also be nice with a slightly larger than suggested hook size. Love how stretchy it is. Thank you Allison. Take good care!
I Love watching your videos!! You are soooo good at explaining the stitch and showing what it should look like. I have been crocheting for a very long time but I don't like reading a pattern. I have made quite a few of your blankets. Thank you for doing an awesome job of showing us! 💕💕
Thank you so much! not had much of manicure as they are my own grown nails and often break i started taking extra vitamins to help i seems to be working a little bit.
In case someone wanted to make a border all around, I'm thinking there must be a way to make a top edge that's straight across - - have to try a little swatching, I guess.
New subscriber here. Love this & your charming accent! I could crochet all day with you by video. Question though: on the foundation chain are you skipping 2 chains and going into the third? Or going into that 2nd one. I've watched it 5 times and expanded it (I have terrible vision though & double vision so its not you, it's me) but it looks like you're going into the third? Sounds like you're just skipping one chain and going into the next. Id appreciate your help understanding if you can. Thank you SOOO much for this love video! I found you looking for how to make the fringe on a men's scarf. Also fabulous!!
Lovin this!=the look of your blanket and the ease of this stitch pattern 🤩😍. Gonna make a scarf for family and friends for my Christmas stash, & for my niece and nephew's babies 👶 😊😉🙃🥰
My goodness Allison I don't know how you do it your a gem coming up with all these. Lovely. patterns and stitches. Thanks so much. very pretty. Happy easter 🐤🐤🐤
I hope you are well Deborah. I have my channel 8 weeks in advance so what you see was done at least 6 to 8 weeks ago wait until you see what's coming up soon... My arthritis is playing up so I have had to do smaller samples for a while which in the long run is quicker for me to keep the cannel going.
Just had a quick look on Amazon as you say for it as I’m in the U.K. as well. Have you seen how much Allison?! £22 for a 6oz ball 😱 I will definitely be sticking with my Caron Simply Soft as an alternative 👍🇬🇧
yes its imported into the uk I bought it when i was over there in Uk money it was around 2.85 a ball i was dancing with delight and filled my suitcase hahahah
Lacey email me at allisonrussel@gmail.com (watch the spelling) I will let you know when i go over again soon. Im going to a few youtube conventions that are in the process of being set up. I am taking an empty big suitcase hahahah
Thank you Allison. That's a very pretty stitch. I shall try this for sure. What was the bigger stitch project called that you mentioned at the beginning of this video Allison? 💕🧶
Here in the US the UK "double crochet" is what we call a "single crochet" (I know you know this). My question is, out of curiousity.... what does the UK consider a "single crochet" stitch? I've just always wondered, LOL.
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel As I said, I knew you knew that a double there is a single in the US (and I know that as well). My curious question was what does the UK consider a "single crochet"... or do you just not have a "single" crochet there? And yes... I wish they would be called the same all over, LOL, but I've gotten used to it.
Thank you for clarifying. I'm still a fairly new crocheter(?), and I was like umm I don't recall that being a double crochet. I'm still excited to try this. My youngest nephew is about to be a father and I would love to make him a blanket for his baby boy.
@@amydavis4945 we don't have a single crochet in the UK, I much prefer using the US terminology maybe because there are more videos that use it so I learnt it straight away.
@@sarahknell8494 Ohhh, that makes much more sense now! Thank you for explaining that Sarah! I watch crochet tutorials from around the world (some where I don't even understand the language, but can follow along, lol) and it's so amazing that no matter where we come from, we all share this love of crochet!

Lovely stitch, I remember the larger one and have it in my library on here. Love your nail colour too.
Hi Babs. Could you possibly tell me the name of the larger one please? I've looked for it but can't find it. Many thanks. Sue 🧶
Again, another easy stitch. I will use this stitch to make a prayer shawl. Thank you 👏👏👏
You’re welcome 😊

Michael's is a very expensive hobby and craft store. Hobby Lobby is a little less and JoAnn's Fabrics is so so, sometimes they have good sales.
The Loops & Threads is a Michael’s store yarn (their own brand), so it will not be in Joann’s or Hobby Lobby 😕
Absolutely! Caron is a great brand and you’re never going to catch me paying $$$ for yarn!

Hi! Love this stitch! How do you end the blanket? (With a single crochet)
This is one of my favorite stitches to make headbands. Its a simple stitch that works up faster than you would think. 😁
yes and it has that little it of stretch to suit headbands too
Thanks
Welcome
Another to put on my list to make. I tell everyone about you.
Me too!
thank you Xxx
I was wondering if you could slow down when you are doing your projects
Hi this wool looks like Caron wool which is sold in the uk 😍
What hook size did you use for this blanket please? 😘
Is that a "double crochet" or a single crochet?🤔

What size needle did you use?
I think you can use any yarn and use the suggested hook size. I'm sure DK would work lovely for this stitch x
These are single crochet's if I use double crochet stitch then it would look way different.
the US and UK call them different but its the same stitch. In the Uk they are a double and in the US a single (same stitch)

uk 4.5mm
Hi how much chain for a blanket
