- So I bought the Note 7, I mean Note FE (Fan Edition). It was a pretty penny but I want to have it to compare to the Note 8 when it comes out! Here are my thoughts about this phone and some things I noticed so far!

Do you notice that the fan edition is the last phone with a physical home botton.

TheMoises1213 that's the biggest problem with Samsung.. It slows down terribly in course of time.. Might be it's because of storage after frequently writing over it is causing the device to slow down..
Ronin R OnePlus made a phenomenal job with the 5s performance. I still cant see why Sammy can't do the same. The Note 8 is gonna come 6GB RAM standard now so will we FINALLY see a speed improvement? I sure hope so 😞

I prefer this over the Note 8. I remember holding a dummy version of a Note 7 in a carrier store and thinking, wow what a beautiful device!

Atheon, Time's Conflux The iphone models were change since the era of 6 and 6 plus. So it has been 3 years since apple updated their iphone design. Samsung however has the same similar design since the first galaxy series. Even the note series have the same design since the old model. Looking How the 7 and 7 plus works. I say it's a lot of difference from the old model when it comes to sound clarity. Meanwhile, when it comes to sound clarity, storage wise, and a good software support. Samsung doesn't have them.

If I choose between Samsung Galaxy Note FE and Samsung Galaxy Note 8, I would go for the Note FE.
Because the Note FE is much cheaper than the Note 8, which Note 8 cost around $1000.
In my country, Note 8 cost less than MYR 4,000, but the Note FE cost MYR 2,599. I avoid the Note 8 because of the price.
EDIT: The price of the Note FE is reduced to MYR 2199-ish now.

Ashoi F This doesn't run the same TouchWiz as before at launch. It runs Samsungs new experience software 8.1 as shown above so it should be as fluid as the S8........what a joke😂😂i think we know phones that have 'samsung experience' are one of the slowest phones out there

twoSalty No, less bezel is actually practical. For one it allows you to have more "watchability" from screen. It also helps you get a bigger screen in a smaller body so you don't end up with a phone like the iPhone 7+ that is massive but only has a screen size of 5.5 inches. The s8+ has a bigger screen despite having about the same form factor and on top of that a higher resolution and pixel density
I'd take this over the S8, because I prefer the fingerprint scanner on the front and also don't see the point in having a screen wrap around the sides. I prefer a wider vertical screen over a super narrow screen.

Please comment on the battery life (after you've used it for a while). I think Samsung wouldn't want to do this, but I'd be willing to consider one of these rather than a Note 8 if there was a significant enough price difference. The S8 definitely looks more modern, even though I personally do miss having the "old-fashioned" capacitive buttons and fingerprint sensor on the front. :-P

Steven James DeBlasi the battery life on this is awesome actually.. I get a day and a half.. When i had my note7 I did not make it through the day. Don't know why the note fe has better battery life even tho it's a smaller battery!
Erica, maybe the reason why that the note 7's older case is not working with the note fan edition is because it doesn't have the NFC reciever like the case that comes with the note FE, fe's case has NFC reciever built in, I have the fan edition and I really love it, it's so sexy
This is the kind of review that i've been looking for on the FE. I have a soft spot for the Note series and i was so sad with what happened with the old Note 7. I think the FE is a fantastic phone. I'm getting one next week in Black. I love the accessory cover they provided as well. It's beautiful. I live in Malaysia btw...they sell it in all the Samsung stores here 😊 thanks, Erica.

One of the reasons I always preferred the Note series to the S series is because of the screen size. But now that I have the S8 plus I don't think I need a Note anymore, not the Note 7 FE or the Note 8. Am very much satisfied with my Galaxy S8 plus. Nice review though. Erica's videos are the best review videos on any smartphone. God bless her and her husband.

That tint to the display is the exact reason why a lot of people like me want apple to stick with IPS displays. Why some people want OLED on the iPhone is beyond me. You can't beat IPS for color accuracy.
I still got my Note 4 black and my Note 5 white and i really need this Note FE in coral blue.
I owned the OG Note 7 for all of two weeks. While I admit I missed it, life moved on and then the S8+ entered the household. I wouldn't consider the Note FE, especially at it's price point. Rather, if I didn't own a 8/8+, I'd wait till 8/23 to see if the note 8 is viable. I will be getting a Note 8 , pass the 8+ on to a family member

I loved my Note 4: Didn't get the Note 7 for obvious reasons: Will be getting the Note 8... The Fan Edition is, well, a reissue of the past. It will be good for people who don't like change, or have a hard time moving on.
Great video. It's made me so nostalgic for my Note7. I'm waiting for Note8. I would be tempted by the Note7 if it was released in my country, except for one thing, and buyers beware! I love Gear VR games and the Note7 no longer is supported by Oculus and Gear VR will not work..

Now that note fe is released for other countries as well..me for instance, in malaysia using this phone without any problems..totally loving this device. Visit sammobile and flash a rom of another country for this device, maybe that'll have the samsung pay work for ya.

Matthew Dooley I would of Pre-Ordered the Note 8 with my eyes closed but after using the OnePlus 5 and being honored to experience what it means to have the fastest android phone out, now im extremely hesistant. I sent it back for my refund after my 15-day trail and i miss it already😭😭

I had the silver note 7 and loved that color. It kind of had the holographic look to it in the sun. If samsung offered that color again, I would be all over it!

Erica Griffin I could not agree more when you said the Note 7 is you're favorite phone of all time. While I never owned or saw the Note 7 in person before it's untimely demise man did it seem like an amazing phone from what RUclipsrs showed online. It had everything I could ever ask for in a device. Perhaps I might just get the Note Fan Edition. It is supposed to be cheaper than the Note 8 I believe.

Thanks for the unboxing Erica. Obviously, it makes more sense to see the Note 8 before making a buying decision. However, I was disgusted at NGP Store's $810 price tag. In the age of OnePlus, there is no need to spend that kind of money on a great smartphone. Especially one that has been refurbished. I suspect I will prefer this model since I much prefer a front facing fingerprint reader and the infinity screen does nothing for me.
Good looking phone. If I were going to buy a new smartphone I would probably stick with Sony though.
Trusteft i don't know why people still go for Sony. They don't even know how to optimise the software for their high end rear camera, they have the most boring and useless launcher, their phones are incredibly overpriced, and the design simply seem lazy. I don't use samsung either but at least they try to make great phones

The reason why they will probably never update it to work with the Note 7 accessories is because they all contain the Note 7 branding, and they want to separate the FE branding from the Note 7 branding so that they can move on. Also the Note 7 is still banned on flights in some countries so while your phone maybe the FE edition, if someone sees the Note 7 branding on the case then it could cause a commotion.

TheMoises1213 maybe maybe not... I change phones a lot figured resale value won't be too bad on this and I don't have interest in the note 8. Right now I'm carrying a Huawei mate 9 and an iPhone 7+...
The phone in Korea is $600 but customs fees can be over $100. Amazon selling them for $800 eBay even more than that and some sellers from Korea in eBay are charging $800 plus custom fees. So if you cruise over to XDA or ask around most are paying close to 1,000 or more.

Unfortunately, for ALL the people, (including myself): waiting for the note 8,.. Will be very disappointed. The note8, will be nothing more than a GS 8/8+,but with a pen,& a higher price. I don't get caught up with all the hype about phones, I simply just wait for it too come out. But I will always stand up for, what I know that's fact. Not everyone are impressed with Samsung galaxy phone's. There's plenty other phone's that's just as good. But people are letting their brain,too convinced them that the N7, is out dated. I got the Note 7 on launch and it was a disaster all the way. I ended up with the 6S+... yeah an iPhone. Definitely make more videos about S-note and the gif tool. Also sound performance of the 3.5mm jack :)

I'm really worried about the note 8 leaks... I need a new phone pretty badly, but everything I look at just feels terrible compared to my Note 4.
I got an LG G4 to try and tide me over and see if I could get used to the back controls and on-screen controls... I still hate them.
If I could get my note 4 with an updated chipset, I'd be over the moon! It's the perfect size, has all the buttons I want and in the right place, and has a removable battery (which would have made the note 8 recall waaaaaaay easier had Samsung not gone all in on planned obsolescence).
Everything else on the market right now looks like I have to pay a thousand dollars for a compromise.

My first ever "Flagship" smartphone was a silver Note 7. I was super excited to finally have one. I wanted a Galaxy phone ever since the S5 first came out. Then the S6 Edge came out and I wanted it super bad, but by the time I could actually afford a pricey phone, the Note 7 was out. So I bought the last one Verizon had. I loved it to death. The only phone I ever bought a case for too. I had it for a week before Verizon made me trade it for a downgrade. I got a black S7 Edge. Great phone, but I always saw it as a downgrade, so I never really loved or even cared about it. Two years later the screen broke, and I had to buy a secondhand Note 5 which I'm till using as we speak. Here we are two years after my Note 7, and I'm a full blown Samsung Sales Representative now. The irony is I don't even like Samsung anymore, or Android for that matter. Hell must be freezing over, because I'm about to buy a IPhone X s when it releases. Strange. But to me, even though I only had it a week, the Note 7 will always be super nostalgic. The FE is super cool, but now, you can buy a Note 8 for the same price, so the only reason to get one is nostalgia, which isn't worth almost $800.
