Eventhough LCW haven't clinche as much major title as LD, we owe him so much to carry our flag. LCW is a national hero but he represents the defeated and corrupted Barisan national party. yes, Lin Dan was absent for almost an entire year and he participated in the World Championship 2013 by an issued green card (i.e. by special arrangement) since his points did not qualify him for the tournament.
I am not saying LD, but I think the green card is very unfair to the other players who have played very hard in the Super Series in order to win a seat in the WC.

Nguyen Tien Minh- Viet Nam. I'm so proud of him. His highest ranking is the 5th and he did this based totally on his passion and dedication. I mean back then in 2010, Viet Nam was still a backward country which was busy eliminating poverty. Therefore there wasn't much investment in sports in general and in badminton in specific. Minh had to put his own money for his training, practice and travel fares for competition. He competed with no support from the homeland. However he had able to overcome every thing by his pure passion and talent. I feel so pity for him because had he received a much more decent investment, he might had a much more glamorous career now. He has huge respect and he is an inspiration about the power of passion for me.

LCW is a national hero but he represents the defeated and corrupted Barisan national party. Since the opposition party won now, they will do everything to keep LCW under a relative low profile and potentially force him to quit before the next olympics. But top 10 in other games are still possible.

yes, Lin Dan was absent for almost an entire year and he participated in the World Championship 2013 by an issued green card (i.e. by special arrangement) since his points did not qualify him for the tournament.
I am not saying LD, but I think the green card is very unfair to the other players who have played very hard in the Super Series in order to win a seat in the WC.
I am Indonesian and remember back before 2012 I and my friends play badminton and we are be like, "I am Taufiq Hidayat, Lee Chong-wei or Lin Dan."

Nguyen Tien Minh- Viet Nam. I'm so proud of him. His highest ranking is the 5th and he did this based totally on his passion and dedication. I mean back then in 2010, Viet Nam was still a backward country which was busy eliminating poverty. Therefore there wasn't much investment in sports in general and in badminton in specific. Minh had to put his own money for his training, practice and travel fares for competition. He competed with no support from the homeland. However he had able to overcome every thing by his pure passion and talent. I feel so pity for him because had he received a much more decent investment, he might had a much more glamorous career now. He has huge respect and he is an inspiration about the power of passion for me.
You know LD and LCW played 40 official matches between 2006 and 2019, LD win 28 loss 12, that is ~70% win rate. LD attended less international competitation, that's why he ranked lower
