I was at Hemel Hempstead model club (Shenley) the other day and I'm pretty sure I got you and other chatting away and receiving my messages on Saturday. Great coverage that way...!
Love my tdeck plus but really need the new gui firmware haven't got it to install properly yet on the plus. Manuel is brilliant been at least throwing him a bit of cash to help develop it.
I was disappointed to hear about that T114. I have a Heltec v3 and the charge circuit quit working. So I think I'm done with Heltec devices. I think I'm going to start using RAK devices. What kind of luck has other folks had with the RAK devices?
Can’t recommend RAK enough, highly dependable and customizable. If you are looking for something that works out of the box, check out the WisMesh -if you want to build your own, consider the RAK19026 and print AlleyCat’s MeshPack.
@@zandermcnabb7779 I run a car node, it's just always powered up and ready to go. It has successfully made contact back to my home node roughly 30km away, which I was quite surprised by. Extending the mesh anywhere you go is a plus in my book. Not to mention the fact that it allows devices like the T-Echo (with a poor stock antenna) to transmit much further
I've heard about that proposal, I don't think you'd be losing it but there'd be a lot of interference if approved? Honestly in the US I'd be using 433mhz anyway I think. Bit better long distance, bit better with obstructions. Not used in the UK because it's already got interference but I don't think that's the case in the US
Meshtastic was such a failure at Burning Man that it’s pretty clear that until message delivery assurance is implemented, it will just be a fun toy. Looking forward to future advancements !
Thinking from a different angle, without the kind of limit testing BM provided, there wouldn't have been the same efforts and direction to get the fixes and changes implemented. The real failure was the people who expected a system to scale to previous untested limits, and didn't prepare a backup method for comms. -73

Yes! Finally! One of my 'Live' messages made it into the video! - Kind of want a T deck now
🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@andykirby - This is some Fanshtastic news! :D :D

Yep we got your messages! I replied to some.👍🏻
I'm getting one of these soon. Thanks for sharing this video and info Andy 👍🏽
Great Channel,very useful and insightful.
I purchased a T114 because of this channel, why tech gods, why do you do this to me.
I think I’ll get the t beam now after this video. Thanks Andy
Why didn't you notice the T114 didn't work when you did your first review?
They work, but not for long messages, from what I understand. So it seems as though it works until you try to TX a bigger message, which then fails
@@dylan_00Kirby can only make short sentences, so probably not an issue ;-)
Does anyone know the effective message length of telemetry or location? Might be able to salvage some tracker or sensor use.

yes I hope they fix the 114 board... I really want meshtastic to be bullet proof!!!
Some new about reticulum ?
I don’t remember the reticulum very well, but the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell.
@@glass4600 reticulum network stak... No biological stuff

Where can I get acquainted with other firmware that I could use boards like V3 and T114 with?
Noticed one or two mesh users in my area. Haven't made contact yet. Just powered down my t114...
Test the new version, there's a Revision 2.0 out now.
That explains why mine was failing to send messages. Honestly, I gave up on mine.
😅its just really crap , unfortunately...
Great video as always andy x
So, there's a few nodes in the city over from mine, but should I consider setting up a few in my city?
Id technically be hosting the first few nodes, but ill do it once I can get hardware, but should I open up mine as one?
Also for those who have them do tall have "car nodes" that go live when the car is stationary?
Are they good? (youtube broke on me)

Are you aware in the US we may be losing the most 900Mhz band?
Yeah I had heard about this...

Loosing, no. Sharing possibly. However the ISM band (Industrial, Scientific, and Medical) is very busy already.
Having tested my T114 at 5dBm output using the test rx and tx scripts, it still fails 90% of the time with a 255 byte packet. So no, it's buggered
