your curls look amazing! one thing - with scrunching out the crunch you can just use your hands, a towel might make it frizzier, and a lot of people do it with a bit of hair oil on their fingers which sort of locks in the moisture and makes your hair shinier :)

Hiii Holly. For shure your hair is wavy or curly. You look amazing with that volume in your hair. I think If you want to do your bun, maybe you should try yo do it less tight so you can have some volume around the head and less baby hairs on the front ^^ It would also prevent your hair to broke easily. Have a nice day and best regards from Spain!

If you want more volume, I highly recommend you doing the conditioning and styling process with your head down. I personally don't use gel on a daily bases, normally I just use a leave-on mask so my hair doesn't freeze and I dry it with a difuser.
Doing all the process of styling, crunching and drying with the head down definetely upgrades it ;)

You can also refresh your hair between washes to keep your curls nice without rewarding! Dampen your ends, add a bit of leave in, a bit of oil, and a bit more gel and let it dry again! You can also use a mousse to reinvigorate them, but they can be a bit drying just as a warning but good for events etc

YASS HOLLY!! been a subscriber for a few years now and so excited you finally tried this :)) - two tips: try using a leave in conditioner (it will work wonders and help reduce frizz and add moisture to your hair) and when styling you might want to try a denman brush (this really helps with definition and enhancing curl pattern, watch a few videos on if if you do try) - your hair looks so gorgeous even on the first try tho so happy for you hol✨x

Also I don’t like having my hair down all the time, so I put it in a loose low bun (there are bands that are special for not leaving the hair tie mark on your hair after) or loose braids so the curls don’t get ruined. Good luck 🧚🏻✨

  • @TashaHillDW
    @TashaHillDW 2 года назад +5

I will also say that the curly girl method is just a framework, some things don’t always work for everyone. For example I used a shampoo that was sulphate free but did contain silicones and it really messed up my hair for months before I figured out the problem, however I have been using a hair oil that I believe contains silicones for years and it’s never caused me any problems. So yeah, try things out and figure out what works best for your hair!

If you want to increase the frequency of washing your hair, to prevent them and your skin to become too dry, it helps to first use conditioner/mask/oil - everywhere including scalp, and then shampoo (and conditioner can be used afterwards too, for length and ends).

With time you will do your hair way faster. I have soo many tips for you.
    1. Put olive or coconut oil in your scalp, it doesn't need much, a little bit is enough
    2. You can spray your hair with water (don't soak it) and put some hair cream/moisturizing cream in it everyday or when you feel like it. It will bring the curls back
    3. Everything in curly hair is from the bottom up, squeeze your curls up
    4. Don't be scared of the wind or rain, your hair is natural and the frizz will go away
    That's it for today 😂😂

OMG this was me after middle school, i didn't know i had curly hair, no one in my family had them, but a friend of mine noticed once how my hair kind of curled sometimes, and dared me to try mousse and diffusing. Woah was it a shock for both of us when i returned as a poodle XD I think we have similar hair texture, probably 2c-3a. So if i may give you some tips to start: invest in a universal diffuser attachment, speeds drying time, and gives us wavy-curly girls more volume, also try finger coilng to start or if you want to invest buy a denmanbrush (yt is full of tutorials on them).
Also a great tip to help distribute products is to section your hair and style section by section, that should also help with the definition, and the curls should last you more days :D hope this helps!

Dandruff isn’t always caused by dry scalp. It’s often caused by your sebaceous glands producing too much oil which causes an imbalance and the skin starts to exfoliate excessively. That’s why many people have both dandruff and their scalp gets oily quickly.

Also as for the hair washing- curly girl method suggests washing your hair once a week.
You can refresh it as needed, or adjust the frequency of washing to your needsp but you're right- hair (curly especially) shouldn't be washed too frequently because it dries it out which makes curl pattern disappear and brings out the frizz, it can even make your hair super greasy because it has to overcompensate the oil you strip away by washing too frequently!

Your hair is 100% naturally curly. It probably looks frizzy because you brush it when it’s dry. I have curls as well, and if I brush it, I will look like Hagrid as well. I think the more you do it, the better it will get and your hair will get used to being curly. Also, I don’t know if it’s approved according to the curly girl method, but for me if my hair gets frizzy after going out or a few days after washing, I will like rewet my hair a little and scrunch it, and it works getting the curls back, cause water makes it to to it’s natural state. But good luck with your curly jouney! 😍 Curls can be a hassle, but once you get the hang of it it’s so worth it

I also have a very dry scalp and it took me years to find a shampoo that didn’t let my scalp drier. I currently use the la roche posay’s kerium shampoo gel extra gentle and it’s not bad at all. Just bear in mind that you do need sulfates and parabens in your products: sulfates are surfactants and they are needed for washing your hair (actually for washing in general) mostly if you are using products like gel that will stay on your hair for days and will build up with the oils you produce and the dead skin from your scalp and all this build up can actually worse your skin condition (I think that it’s better if you use this method once in a while and you wash your hair the day after so you don’t leave all that gel for days in contact with your skin and hair and you should definitely go to a dermatologist) and parabens are just preservatives and they actually are less sensitizing than other preservatives-> keep in mind that there must be some kind of preservatives in products that are in contact with air and the new preservatives that they put in products are much much more sensitizing than parabens.

You look beautiful 👏🏼 I have been trying the same method ;) the second or third day I apply water and cream to my hair again (I kind of repeat the process) so it stays nice longer (After repeating the process my hair actually looks better because it has more product on it) 🤩 It is great you tried it 🥰 keep doing it you look gorgeous.

The curls look so pretty they suit you so well if u want more defined curls u should twist ur hair when it’s wet to make more coils

Hi! I knew your hair was curly! So I have a lot of frizz too and I recommend applying gel when your hair is soaking wet, like if it’s starting to dry add more water. Then when you gel, I split my hair in over my shoulders and lean to to side. Look up the praying hands technique since I find that that causes less frizz and if you want more volume you want to lean over to gel it away from your scalp. I hope this helps and good luck on your curl journey!

you have to try the linseed gel, my friend used to have her hair same as yours, but the gel helped her a lot because it hydrates her hair!

this video put such a smile on my face! I too had a similar epiphany a number of years ago about my hair actually being curly. Curls can be a bother, but your hair looks great this way, and its lovely, thick and healthy :)

One thing I do as a curly girl is putting my hair in a braid every night and it improved my curls and prevented them from being too frizzy

Holly, I've started to put Almond Oil in my hair instead of coconut oil,
And omg I genuinely love it.
Like it's much lighter than coconut oil if you know what I mean,
    But do try it,
I mean I genuinely love it
And it just leaves my hair very soft and feel very nourished.
    It's just idk
My Opinion on Hair Care I guess 🌚
PS: omg I love your hair....🧿❤
