Really pleased to see another vid out and this is a great subject. I have just bought Shadow of the Eagles by Keith Flint, but Lasalle is high on my interest list.
Thank ou for the well presented explanation. I'm tempted to buy it now to use with my WG Epic toys. Lols the bucket load of dice for the skirmish phase!
Wee error in the French army structure. You can't integrate Guards units into a Infantry Brigade. Infantry (any) is referring to Infantry category and the sub-types of either Elites, Veteran or Conscript quality. Guards are their own category which have their own brigade options delineated by their 'oval' shape which Infantry have a 'rectangular' shape. This also dictates what options are available to those essential brigades. This is to represent an Infantry Division or Guards Division army structure. The Russians and Austrians have a similar army structure whereas the British and Prussians integrate their Guards into normal Infantry Brigades. Great vid introducing the concepts of the game in a really friendly manner and really glad I stumbled upon your channel! minis and table looks great. When Garrisoning buildings you can choose how many bases are formed in each side of the town as long as the bases connect. So you can do a 2 &2 or; 1 & 2 & 1 or; as you did 1 base on each side.
Hi there, a few things, Troops in march column get no skirmish value, a reasonably common way to lose them. The unit in Garrison needs to have bases in contact (which you can move to juggle, a bit, thereafter) things like shooting arcs are from the actual position of the bases and enemy must contact bases. So BUA defence is not really area defence. A Rally away from the enemy is shifted up, but your dice still gave the right result. Reinforcements is not simultaneous - so if the both come on the same turn they guy deploying second can see what the first has done. Not really an issue in a solo game. The rest looks correct. Albeit explaining moving into near is easier with a diagram than reading it out.
Thanks for the feedback , I picked up the "rally away from enemy" rule too late, but luckily I rolled a 6 and a 1 to rally , so it didn't make any difference , I will get it right next time I rally someone. I will adjust my Garrison position of bases , well spotted , the village will be assaulted soon I think.
@@davidbrown4849 thanks , oops, my mistake , I will have to keep playing it wrong for this battle as the French Dragoon’s have arrived in mass formation. I’ll add a correction in the notes and fix it up on video 3. Turn 2 video being processed.
It would be great to see a little tutorial on how you base and flock your units bases (Like the Russian Opolchenie unit's base at 7:52 and the Russian unit to their left).
Great video was wondering what sort of magnetic movement tray thing you had their, it looks great could you tell me where you got it from/ how you made it?
May I please ask about the basing for these? Looks like 15mm (?) with four per square base, and eight square bases per unit? (or eight per oblong base and four bases per unit). Are the bases 30/60mm or 40/80mm frontage please?
@@CreakyGamersHistorical I’ve been playing a lot of it and think it would be great to see what experienced wargamers like yourself think about how it compares.
There is “Sharpe Practice” from the Too Fat Lardies. I haven’t played it though. Their games usually involve card activation and/or lots of dice rolling. There are a lot of videos about it.
you pronounce "opolchenie" pretty well! just spell "-niye" instead of "nee" at the end of the word. something like "oh-poll-chen-e-yeah" should be in result :)
Great video, love how you did the visuals. I'm also really enjoying LaSalle2, great game!
Appreciate this walkthrough of the rules! Sam Mustafa has put out some interesting rules, and it's helpful to see how they work.
Thanks 👍

Cool , let me know how they play ? I have played so many different rules , nowadays I like simple , easy to understand and less charts. 👍

Yeah the skirmish phase is a little abstract , it does the job ,but I'd rather have them on the table .

Great tutorial. But I really liked the beautiful terrain and figures. Excellent video.
Thanks 👍

@@CreakyGamersHistorical also reserves must come on in march column or limbered formation - unless your scenario says otherwise.

As in the David Brown who wrote General d Armee?
@@reddsaxxmike2865 no, one of the other ones.

Very Nice table👍🏼🇫🇷
opolchenies were not cossacks on foot but militia units like Landwehr or National guard Battalions
Excellent video
Thank you for the video.
Is Lassalle using unit cards, as Blucher does?
I dont have any experience with Blucher , Lassale is a lower scale , but you could use unit cards if you wanted.
Appreciate your effort to demonstrate these rules, thank you. Are you planning to play your scenario out further with an additional video or more?
Yes I will finish the battle , I have it still set up , will get back to it later today.
Great video was wondering what sort of magnetic movement tray thing you had their, it looks great could you tell me where you got it from/ how you made it?

The movement trays are just some sheet metal I cut up and bent in workshop at work.
Please do more lassalle!
Done ! , Check out the 6 battle reports on the Battle for the Fleches. I'm testing some AI rules and it was good fun.

My guys are 15mm based on a 40mm frontage.
Have you ever played Fields of Glory: Napoleonic ? I would be very interested to hear a review on it from yourself.
I don’t think I tried FOGN , I played a bit of FOG ancients a while ago

Is there a skirmish type game using around 40ish miniatures for either nepoleonic's or pike & shotte???

@@CreakyGamersHistorical Cheers mate 👍
I've also just found Chosen men as well for small scale skirmishes.
I think "Pikeman's Lament" for pike ans shotte-era is a skirmish game.
Blücher is my favorite Napoleonic game, so this should be good!
Are these models 15mm?
Hi , yes 15mm 👍

Thanks , I had some Russian students once , they tried to teach me some Russian phrases , I found it very difficult to pronounce .
