  • @7spower998

Hi Cory, excellent how-to video. European car engines don't use PCV but CBV/PRV - Crankcase Breather Valve/Pressure Regulating Valve aka CCV - Crankcase Valve. Both function identically, but they have different designs and shapes. A PCV has cylindrical steel or aluminum inside with a spring-loaded piston valve that regulates engine crankcase pressure and housed in a metal body. On the other hand, CBV/PRV is a complex design that uses a cylinder or box shape with a spring-loaded rubber/silicone diaphragm to regulate the pressure. Some of them are integrated into the valve cover.

@@chrisgaulding4820 No, VAG cars use CBV/PRV. I have an Audi A4 Avant quattro turbo, and it has a CBV/PRV. You can only get the CBV at the dealer or European car parts store. On the other hand, you can buy PCV valves at any automotive parts stores. The CBV/PRV is usually 2-3 x the price of the PCVs.

@@babagandu It should be fairly easy depending on what year you have. The later models had the two piece manifolds like all of the 3.6's after 08 so no need to put the car in service mode. Pull the intake, coil packs and a few odds and ends them remove the manifold and valve cover. If you buy the entire valve cover you get the PCV so its a direct swap. If you get just the diaphragm you have to remove the PCV from the valve cover. Its doable but not easy as it may be stuck due to age.
