"Regenerative braking, so standard, lift off and it applies the breaks for you", um, no, it removes power from the motor, so it becomes a generator and feeds the battery; Quite different from turning motive force into heat...

No, generally RUclipsrs have higher production values, a LOT better sound, more charisma and a decent script. This was.... just crap. Despite being interested in the car, I couldn't make it to the end of the "review".

This isn't the proper Top Gear programme. I may be wrong but I think this is content made by the team who produce the Top Gear magazine.
Car Throttle, Mighty Car Mods, Doug and RCR make significantly better content.

This is a fake. the real Top Gear is on Amazon and is called The Grand Tour.
You had 7 hrs with the car but only showed 6 mins of driving. Most useless review of this car. Topgear you've gone so downhill, Clarkson would of tried doing some donuts in it and seen how many grannies fit on the back seat while doing 100mph.

It seems that Tesla fanbois only will accept fawning without question adoration for Elon Musk as a positive review.
He mentions he would buy one but there is a 15 months to two years wait. In these entertainment reviews it's also about the feeling that the presenter is showing A T T H E. P U N C H L I N E. Also he was saying praise like it was dragged out of him. Why every tg review of Tesla cars does not mention the money you save from driving such a long range electric car with other cars in their category. Maybe because Shell sponsors them?

5 years ago or now even you would or should have been drooling dude. The guy is not impressed in the way he talks. I would be amazed driving that. It is a real feat and just reminds me of startrek or something. 300+ miles on battery. You even know how incredible that is.

Gordon Warlow sorry if the comments Irritated you, but the absolute frustration that goes into being so incorrect about presenting information on a car that you didn’t study at all (which is abundantly and Indisputably clear you didn’t) but pretend to be knowledgeable about it. And then try to pass it off with the presentation of accuracy is intolerable for such a prestigious series. I also feel like maybe there is some corporate backing that may have led to this. But idk just a top gear fan speaking...

Yes there is. They are taking orders for the performance version now.
They'll never build them ,,, or return your deposits ,, Tesla will be bankrupt in a year ,, 15 years and never a profit... and no more government handouts to them or their buyers... The Jaguar ePace will destroy this $55-$65K piece of vaporware in the market.

There was a time when i watch TG episodes over and over again trying to figure out How they plan filming and editing their stuff as they’re always top notch. But seeing this now is just too sad. Probably awful lot of crew change.

This is fake Top Gear
It has a semi-autonomous system, which still requires you to pay full attention to the road and doesn't make you any less responsible as a driver.
Oh, would you like to explore all of these easter eggs in the menu of this giant screen while using said system?

The car more than capable to drive without the driver paying attention, it just makes the driver pay attention so that when an idiot like you crashes into it, you can't sue tesla.
And the Easter eggs aren't for the driver, it's for passengers to play with.
Mainly for kids to play with.

Plus 1thousand something for insurance per year..
pay off in 5 years with deposit so it's like 45 thousand actually , but..
I mean BIG but..No gas fuel costs no oils to change no radiator to worry about..
That's at least $1500 or more per year saved..

Plus if you get a government kick back it be even less..
If you had a solar array or with a Tesla Wall battery you could charge it with no fuel burning fossils at all..
I would totally consider this car my next new car..

Yes, but the car is going to get cheaper too. Remember this is just the beginning not the end. The development of new batteries and new cars are coming. This will be a proper car company soon instead of a tech company building cars.
But long can those government tax cuts last And most people don't factor in fuel costs or other things like having no radiator or oil changes they want a $35,000 car without the tax breaks because they know what the government gives they can take away.

Yes, and no. Battery prices will go down within the next 5 years. However, that doesn't mean that other companies just starting out are not going to raise prices.

Just want to point out (and in no way am I defending this), but this editor and the review came off of TG Magazine. The TV show is relegated to death. This was the nail in the coffin.

Funny. I love the part where he forgets to put the card on the start car spot. Im sure there have been people who have done just that. Playing with the Easter eggs while in self driving mode it probably against the EULA you just signed. Oh and every human being wants a model 3 right now. Including me who will hopefully be getting one in a few months.

Oh right, I forgot about what happened to Top Gear. Got my hopes up for a second there, good on you guys at the BBC for that!
I was surprised at the high thumbs down percentage. But I get it now. People came to the video expecting to see a Tesla racing a Leaf pulling trailers or some such thing and this is not that. I used to enjoy that part of Top Gear as well but I guess I've aged out and I now find a sober review of an interesting car more entertaining than watching a combine clearing snow in Scandinavia or similar stuff. I'm an old fart now and I'm coming to grips with that.

What bad has that poor screen done to you? You are literally trying to break it with hard touches (or should i say, hammering). It is not crappy afterthought display in some other car, it's an elegant piece of tech. You should use it gently as you use your phone.

They took a whole bunch of orders without having the capacity to fulfill them. Company in big trouble I would say. Slapping the cars together as fast as they can.

You need a sound guy that knows how to NOT clip the signal, using a collar mic or whatever the speaker is using. If it's deliberate "style," it's idiotic. Stop it. It just sounds bad, unless it's in certain music.
Some serious distortion there, and can't blame the speaker cuz it's not his job to keep levels in a decent range.

id like to add one more thing. That touch panel is one hell of an eye sore, but I suppose it could make serviceability a lot faster and hopefully cheaper because its not integrated into the dash.

I’ve drove a Tesla model S60 and I did enjoy driving it especially the acceleration but the range isn’t that good and they take way to long to charge. If they could make a quick charge that took say 10 mins and I would by one in a heartbeat.

I watched a lot of videos on Tesla model 3, he almost spoke non of it's advantages, I guess feature tech/progress will always face people who want to still live in past tech and hate to look into the feature, I think in 1 year or 2, the difference between Tesla and old style gas cars will be like the difference between smart phones and older phones with buttons!!
Forget all the hate filled comments. I loved the review and even learned some new tips along the way. The Best Complement any Car Review can get, is when in the end he asks himself if he would buy one for himself? This is the third reviewer that said he would buy it for himself.
I came into this video expecting an overly biased review against the model 3. I was not disappointed
No sense of humor, hands down without Jeremy, Hammond, and James this channel is horrible.
I could want one, but so disappointed that they built a hatchback shaped car but given it a saloon boot. A hatchback would be more practical and surely have a wider appeal.

There's a reason why displays are the way they are in normal cars. 1. You can read them under adverse lighting conditions. 2. You are not blinded by light reflections. Consider that.

UK RHD Model 3's first deliveries this week, so months not years if you place an order now. Company car drivers get 2% BIK tax rate from April 2020 not withstanding the (lack of) petrol costs. The Performance model is quicker than a BMW M4

The card is the spare key. The primary key is your phone. With your phone you just walk up to it and it unlocks, then you push the brake pedal and it’ll start up
Great Fun Review. Don’t mind all all the nay sayers about not enough drive time. There’s about a million other videos on Model 3s on RUclips. This one was different and informative.
I see a lot of accidents happening with how much time people will spend looking at the screen like this guy.

He said it's top spec but has a 5.5 -060. That is the standard range rwd time. If he was in the p, he would realize it's sub 3 second and blows the doors off an m3.

So what about the ''top spec car'' has the glass roof.. Did he do any reading up on the model 3? The base spec car can be specced with bigger wheels. Only thing missing out on, apart from battery/speed, is a lesser soundsystem, no rear heated seats (available though update) and foglights.
TheStraightPipes review of Hyundai is more exiting than today's TopGear video with Tesla... btw. you could learn how to do effects from those guys.

the interior is minimalist but the touch screen is maximalist ... the traditional automobile is almost universally intuitive, or otherwise, you'd be crazy to ever let valet parking drive it ... what the hell is more clever about the technological heart of this device being anything but intuitive and actually a distraction that apparently you have to think about where your finger touches before you drive off ... why is it smarter to make things with so many smart functions it overwhelms the mind when the basic function of a car is to get in and drive from point A to point B ... the radio, the heater/ A/C, the wipers, the mirrors, the seats are all just accessories that were universally separated and easy to spot quickly in any car, and now these cars it's like you need the manual in the passenger seat!
