I have a 50 state collection of bicentennial coins. Back in the late seventies they sold these green coin holders for these coins. It took me a while to fill mine up with the right coins and of course I only used the cleanest coins I came across. I think I may be missing just a few as unless you were in those states they were hard to get. I got mine because I was an over the road truck driver back then and every time I went into a state I did not have a coin for I seemed to always get what I wanted and all are very nice. But there were a few states I did not get. I also had a lot of bicentennial coins dated 1776 - 1976. Don't know why I just liked them. Every time I found a nice one I just kept it. I used to have lots of old coins but ex-wives tend to take their toll. These however I still have and of course silver dollars and stuff like that. I am 63 now, have not looked at them in a while. Not sure why I still have them, but I do. Never gave any thought to getting rid of them. Just kept them with me everywhere I went. Back when I start collecting these the thing to collect back then was silver coins. Have a few of them too. lol. Thanks for the video. Never realized they were worth anything.

Good afternoon folks. So I’m trying to sell my ungraded collection of coins. It’s not a very big one, but I do have some interesting pieces. My father and I used to collect, and once he passed, my son and I carried it on. Unfortunately my son has passed as well, and we were more into the history of them, rather than collecting. As you can imagine, I’m reminded of my dad and son every time I see them, and I’m just ready to let them go. I don’t have the funds nor the time to have them graded, so I figured I’d reach out to the community to see if someone wanted to look them over and possibly buy them. Anyways I don’t expect much, just thought I’d reach out. I do like the channel over most other coin channels. Yall seem kind, patient, down to earth, and I can tell the desire is there. I guess I’d prefer if they went to a good home so to speak. If anyone has any advice, I’d love to hear it. Thanks everyone.
I have 7 bicentennial quarters. 5 of the Denver mint and 2 of the Philly. Never have considered myself a coin collector, but have always held onto anything unique becuz I thought they were “neat”.
I've been saving my bicentennials and I was wondering how I could figure out how much they're worth and where to sell them? I also have a error bicentennial
Of all the quarter designs, this is my favorite and I have saved every single one since 1976. Sometimes I’ll get one and it’s in terrific condition considering how old they are
I am obsessed with these quarters, recently started to relook into grades and things watching videos I've found a good handful I'm hoping to get graded :D
I was born in 1976 too, I have been keeping any 1976 quarter I find since I was about 5, have a bunch of other bicentennial commeritave stamps books coins etc. Kind of neat to be connected to an event in history that way.
I am also into what us considered being an "exo-numinist". I collect, bicentennial themed commemorative tokens, wooden nickles, medals, mardi grass coins, buss and toll booth coins etc. from 1976..... There are so many types and variations seems like every town or city had their own designs made to celebrate the occasion. Franklin Mint made some neat ones with great engraving, I usually check through the "junk coin bins" coin dealers have, you also see them at antiques malls, or flea markets. Most are $.25 to $1.00 since "real coin collectors" dont pay big money for them😉👍.
When I was a kid my favorite aunt was a coin collector and always told me to save all my bicentennial quarters. That is actually how I got started collecting.
I learned much from the segment. I am in possession of a few of the bicentennial quarters described, as well as 1963 and 64 nickels. I am new to coin collecting, but have a few nice coins.
I've been finding a lot of bi-centenial quarters lately in my change!! I've been putting them back and checking them. One of them has a San Fransisco mint mark and still has some "mirror-like" finish to it!! The back of it is flawless but, the front has some small hair-line scratches on the right side. Still great looking!!!
i dont mean to be so off topic but does someone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb forgot my account password. I would love any tricks you can give me.
@Beau Lucas Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I looked at my bicentennial quarters and found an unusual error . on the reverse above the hat the lettersAMER are not there. do you think it may be worth looking into as a rare coin?
If the letters "AMER" aren't there, I would think that is very significant, and I would think your coin is very rare! I'm no coin expert, but it may be worth getting it graded. If there are any coin collector clubs in your area, they may have an idea of a value of it. Good Luck and let us know what you find!
I love these quarters just because of the drummer on the coin. Being a drummer myself I always loved this coin. I try to collect them whenever I run across them and I have extra pocket change.
Bicentennials are my favorite coins to collect and I have been collecting these coins for over 40 years and currently have over 2400 quarters and many half dollar bicentennials.
I find these constantly! I am an avid coin and bill collector. I work as a bartender and I ALWAYS check my bills and quarters in the register! I live in New Hampshire and I have found SO many of these while working, they are still out there!!
I’ve been collecting bicentennial quarters since the mid 80s. I check every single quarter I receive and still get some of these quarters in change but it’s getting rarer.
I've kept them for years too. I've noticed there are getting to be less & less of them out there. Must be more people saving them these days. I'm not even sure what a basic bicentennial quarter is worth these days. I just always hear you should keep them because they're now worth more than a 25cents. Who knows??
@@carllink2572 What do you do with your * Notes? Does anyone actually buy them & what are they worth?? I've always saved * Notes whenever I see them, but haven't ever really known if they're worth saving or not.

I have a pretty large collection of Bicentennial quarters that my Mom started collecting when I was a kid. I will be looking through them soon. I'd consider selling them if I can get fair offers.
If you wrote a book on it, it could be a " best seller." Actually, you can sell it on web sites like eBay, Etsy, Mercari, Bonanza, ect. The companies charge about a 15% Commission fee.

I have been saving these for my mom for over 25 years. She probably has a few hundred of these rolled up in quarter wrappers at her home. Every so often I come across them I save them up and give them to her when I see her or ship them when I ship out Xmas or birthday gifts to her. She also collected old dollar coins and half dollar coins too. :)

I was married July 10,1976 so I collected a lot of bicentinnial quarters. They have been stored in plastic coin tube containers and are in pretty good shape. I also have proof sets. I guess I can check these out with a coin dealer.
I was born in 1976, so from the time I was a kid, any time I found one, I stuck it in a box. I never thought they’d be worth anything. I just liked having them. I’ll have to dig it out and see how many I have.
While watching this video, I remembered an old coin collection I have had since I was a kid. I just checked it out and realized I had collected so many bicentennial coins, mostly quarters, since it was my high school graduation year. All in new, from the bank condition. Some still really shiny. How can I get these all appraised?
Was at a gas station waiting in line for a young man to pay for fuel with change. I heard a couple hit the counter that sounded funny so when I made it up to the counter i asked if I could buy those coins the previous customer paid with. Turned out to be 10 bicentennial quarters 1 76 dollar and 1/2 dollar coins with handfull of 1984 1/2 dollar coins. All bicentennial coins are clean and in great condition. Now to get them graded
My father collected quite a few rolls of these in which I inherited. I wish I had the time and patients to look through them. I have at least 15 rolls (tubes) of these bicentennials.
Being a bicentennial baby I have always looked out for the quarters since high school. Ive ramped up coin collecting as a way to avoid the casino. Coin collecting is my kind of gambling now. You buy coins, keep the ones you desire, sell the rest back to the bank at face value, then buy more!!! You can't lose😁

I was born in 1976 too, I have been keeping any 1976 quarter I find since I was about 5, have a bunch of other bicentennial commeritave stamps books coins etc. Kind of neat to be connected to an event in history that way.
Word. I was born in '76 as well. Awesome. I keep all my bicentennial quarters when found. I really enjoy the numismatic arts.

I have this bicentennial mint D mark...
How much can a Bi-centennial 50 cent piece go for.
I have quit a few of them u liked the design and the 70s where great years I never looked at em closely so thx you for showing the video

I have this bicentennial mint D mark...
@Nolan Drake Instablaster ;)
@Beau Lucas Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out atm.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Beau Lucas it did the trick and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thank you so much you saved my account :D
@Nolan Drake Happy to help xD
I looked at my bicentennial quarters and found an unusual error . on the reverse above the hat the lettersAMER are not there. do you think it may be worth looking into as a rare coin?
If the letters "AMER" aren't there, I would think that is very significant, and I would think your coin is very rare! I'm no coin expert, but it may be worth getting it graded. If there are any coin collector clubs in your area, they may have an idea of a value of it. Good Luck and let us know what you find!
Do you know if the pawn shops grade it.
I have at least 20 of these! Been collecting for years. Guess I need to take a closer look at them!
I’ve been collecting bicentennial quarters since the mid 80s. I check every single quarter I receive and still get some of these quarters in change but it’s getting rarer.
i have one bicentenial quarter
i have this one 1776-1976 quarter dollar drumer boy you buy now
I've kept them for years too. I've noticed there are getting to be less & less of them out there. Must be more people saving them these days.
I'm not even sure what a basic bicentennial quarter is worth these days. I just always hear you should keep them because they're now worth more than a 25cents. Who knows??
Yes I do I have a lot of Star notes 1957's and regular dates $20 bills $5 bills and dollar bills
@@carllink2572 What do you do with your * Notes? Does anyone actually buy them & what are they worth??
I've always saved * Notes whenever I see them, but haven't ever really known if they're worth saving or not.
About 15 years ago I bought a set of silver bicentennial coins at a dealer auction and the quarter had some weird striations along one of the edges. It’s still in its original cellophane wrapper.
Need to state there ar tao
I’ve got multiple sheets of bicentennial quarters and One unopened role from the bank. Had them for years. Will look through them today and see f i find anything like you mentioned in this Video.
Yes I collect coins, also while metal detecting I unearthed a odd looking coin from about eight inches deep in the ground.I can't find anything out about it. I've looked at coin books and the closest thing I find is something called hogg money! How could I find out for sure?Love your coin show!Great information that you give!
Pearl White .... Ya I found a 1985 nickel by our dumpster 📦 just was walking around! 💃 I don't know how long it was there? That would be cool 😎 if it was there from 1985! But I think someone would have seen it by then?... 💰 .... Lol 😆
Go through the archives of heritage auctions.

Are they valuable
Iv'e been saving these for as long as I can remember, only because they are cool and unique. Now I have to look at them all very closely to see what might be hiding amongst them.
Me to, didn't think much of them, until now...
I appreciate your insight, I have recently started collecting coins about a year and a 1/2 ago (on a serious level.)
After I started working at Advance Auto Parts.

My mother got me saving them a good 20 yrs ago. I inherited her collection when she passed away & put them with my collection. Could never spend even one.
I have a pretty large collection of Bicentennial quarters that my Mom started collecting when I was a kid. I will be looking through them soon. I'd consider selling them if I can get fair offers.
So, how do we get our quarters sold? I really don't know-how to sell and I sure would like to sell some?
If you wrote a book on it, it could be a " best seller." Actually, you can sell it on web sites like eBay, Etsy, Mercari, Bonanza, ect. The companies charge about a 15% Commission fee.
I just recently came across a bicentennial "In GOD We Rust" error. This is the first one I've heard of. Is it a common grease error for bicentennials?
@@stevenrago7632 if you’re being serious... error coins will go for wayyy more than you can ever imagine ESPECIALLY if it’s the quarter he’s talking about you should definitely get it checked out
@@J_Shiesty21 I'm dead serious, it's a 1976 bicentennial Quarter no mm circulated condition, error noticeable by eye without magnification
Pic?
I have been saving these for my mom for over 25 years. She probably has a few hundred of these rolled up in quarter wrappers at her home. Every so often I come across them I save them up and give them to her when I see her or ship them when I ship out Xmas or birthday gifts to her. She also collected old dollar coins and half dollar coins too. :)
Happy New Year 2023 ! what is the DDO ?
Yes Bicentennial Quarters are one of my favorites. I saw my first quarter while I was in the Army, stationed in Germany in 1975. Thought it was strange to get a coin before 1976 begun.
Yes, I love these coins. I have several that I've collected over the years, & After watching your video I am anxious to check them out! Thank you so much.😊
Yes I have About 12 that are in excellent shape! Most I have 7 P and rest D. Some have double die. Are you looking for some
I just found 3 in my change jar and found this video cause I wanted learn about them
I have a bicentennial quarter that is in full color on the back. I've been trying to find out if it's rare but no luck yet.
The one on eBay is priced at $19 but it may or may not sell.
It may just be commemorative from an event or private mint. US mint doesn't produce colored quarter (or any coins I believe).
I was married July 10,1976 so I collected a lot of bicentinnial quarters. They have been stored in plastic coin tube containers and are in pretty good shape. I also have proof sets. I guess I can check these out with a coin dealer.
U
Back in late 90s I would get at least one bicentennial a month now im lucky to find one a year.
@be nice Someone is hoarding then I heard, they have 10 5 gallon water jugs full of them I bet?
@be nice UV Lights Maybe?

I’ve been getting 2 a week I work at the dollar store
I was born in 1976, so from the time I was a kid, any time I found one, I stuck it in a box. I never thought they’d be worth anything. I just liked having them.
I’ll have to dig it out and see how many I have.
Same here
They’re not worth anything but .25 cents
@@huskers0989 Unless there is an error.

While watching this video, I remembered an old coin collection I have had since I was a kid. I just checked it out and realized I had collected so many bicentennial coins, mostly quarters, since it was my high school graduation year. All in new, from the bank condition. Some still really shiny. How can I get these all appraised?
I have one

Was at a gas station waiting in line for a young man to pay for fuel with change. I heard a couple hit the counter that sounded funny so when I made it up to the counter i asked if I could buy those coins the previous customer paid with. Turned out to be 10 bicentennial quarters 1 76 dollar and 1/2 dollar coins with handfull of 1984 1/2 dollar coins. All bicentennial coins are clean and in great condition. Now to get them graded
I have five bicentennial quarters anyone interested.

My father collected quite a few rolls of these in which I inherited. I wish I had the time and patients to look through them. I have at least 15 rolls (tubes) of these bicentennials.
I have collected Bicenntenials for a long time.I will check them out thanks for info❤
I got a 76 double die rev Circulated very good shape no major dings dents or scratches. And one about Gem with a die gouge got stuck on angle got hit with die an extra time. Was going to send them to get graded but covid happened. If anybody could give info on prices and what to do with them be greatly appreciated.
I have perhaps, $500.00 in Bi-Centennial quarters. I will be checking each one, tonight. Thank you for this in-depth video.
