99.9% are thieves they say don't clean your coins I sold a rare quarter to a dealer for 80 dollars, I know for a fact he used a Dremel with a soft cloth bit cleaned it like new and asked 8500 for it, ya they don't want us to clean them SO THEY CAN AND MAKE BIG MONEY. WHENS THE LAST time you ever went to a coin shop and saw a rough Condition coin for sale well u won't cause they are lying scumbags they want the opportunity of cleaning them and getting all the glory. I know this because I found out exactly how they do it and sent one that I cleaned to pcgs for grading and they sent it. Back to me with an ms66+ grade I cleaned the coin that was worth a little more than face value cleaned it properly came back an ms66+ worth $$725 these coin dealers make car dealers look like saints lol, just a bit of info that all people to know.

I've had a couple doubles, which I was told they were not. The best ones were where nobody I asked could tell me what the 1940's half's missing AF looked like. Engravers had to add them cause the die was worn. I "had" 4 or 5. Then I had a 41 Filipino dime with the die crack, but was told it wasn't. Then I had two 1941 us dimes and the words "in God we trust" were wavy, like so ~~ and this is my favorite answer of all. Post mint damage. It seems to me that in most circles a little guy can't have a coin. Only the big guys can find errors and such.

Ok i made no money on what I had because I'm poor white trash and am seen and treated as such. I had a few "dealers" tell me that I had nothing. I am financially unable to get anything graded and I am limited on what sort of equipment I have and need. All I have is a Moto g 5g. Nothing more. And the only reason I have that is because the guy at the store lied and said the one I really wanted was unavailable. So then help convinced me to get a Moto g 5g stylus. And guess what, that's not what I got. Boost is a disaster. They lie trick you and get you to take something that's isn't what you agreed on. I should have stayed with ST. Putting that aside back to the coins. I need a cheap but good digital usb microscope that I can connect to my phone. I have no other devices, no comp, laptops 😔😔 tablet or otherwise.

Hi Connie, I know how it is. At 55, my eyes aren't what they used to be. You can do fine with an inexpensive magnifying glass. People have different reasons for getting coins graded. Personally, I would only get something graded if I needed to authenticate an error or variety, or if I had a top pop coin I wanted to preserve. He seen that the coins looked New, and being that he knew a little something about rare coins, he swapped out a few with his pocket change. Had them looked at and found that they were from the late 1960's thru early 1970's. He sold them and got a few hundred dollars.
