I think the Bi centennials are special, 200 years, what a young country. Didn't know how much was going on with this coin. Thank you for continuing my numismatic education. Love to the family.
I am a bicentennial child so I have collected several of the Ike's quarters nickels dimes even Pennies from 76. I will be looking for these errors as you pointed out always grateful thanks for the information
I bought the 1975 and 1976 proof sets as well as the 3-coin silver set way back then. I used money I made on my paper route so it was a stretch. I’ve kept them all these years.
I have about 100. Still collecting most still in Mint Case never opened. Wouldn't the be considered Mint 70?? I've never sold any but I'm sure going to sell them Now!!
Thank you! I have been collecting coins for the last 55 years. This is one of the best videos on the 75-76 bicentennial dollars I have seen in a long time! Very good for new collectors and old timers as well. It pointed out she S to me I forgot about I always just looked at dollar and the R was my telltale sign. Thanks again-from your newest follower! PS; please keep them coming!!!
I have a bicentennial IKE I happened to save about a million years ago, as a kid, when we sometimes saw them in use? No mint mark, skinnier letters, no writing on the bell. My Ike seems to have less hair than any you showed, lol! My family went to a bicentennial parade as kids, so it's been a keepsake.
Thank you for the videos, you do a great job. As a newbie, I am extra appreciative. Being born in 1976, I love the bicentennial coins. My grandfather left me a coin collection when he passed in 1994, I was 18. I'd get it out of the safe every once and a while to look at it while reminiscing. Never thought I'd be the collecting type, but this last year, I've really kind of gotten into it. My grandparents used to say to never sell unless I needed to. Or unless if it were a case where something would net a life changing amount, that would have also been acceptable. But to hang on and pass them along is cool too. I just empty nested & not sure where life is going to take me next...but it'll likely be an adventure...hoping that it will be a good one...esp after this last few years. Cheers
Yes I do from my father's collection. I will have to take a closer look at them and determine whether they are Type 1 or Type 2. Thanks for updating and sharing this video.
Yes, I do have quite a few bicentennial Ike dollar coins in both clad and proof varieties. I need to look them over to see which ones are type 1 or type 2. I enjoy your videos and believe yours is one of the best.
I have all kinds of Ike dollars from silver to regular strike brown Ike’s and Blue Ike’s. Half dollar and dollar coins are my favorite to collect out side of silver rounds! Thank you and hope everything is well! Take care and God Bless 🙏❤️🌹🙏❤️🎈🙏
I just picked up a set of the red envelope silver uncirculated bicentennials. Got them in a grab bag of coins from an estate auction. It included a 2009 set of uncirculated coins, around 25 red food ration tokens from the 30's or 40's, a full set of war nickels, 12 NFL colorized quarters (including McNab and Brady), and a set of 2009 buffalo quarters and nickels (some altered for show) all for cheap.
Thank you for the clarity of your presentation. I have a collection that is very broad in scope--a lot of different denominations--and I am trying to zero in on what I have that might be valuable. I deeply appreciate how slowly you go. I know quite a bit about coins, but videos made by children in baseball caps speaking quickly in poor English only arouse my scorn. I do have bicentennial dollars, and will go through them very carefully. I was born in 1949, and got my start in coin collecting in 1959, their year of the Lincoln Memorial reverse. My father brought home boxes of old change from his parents' attic, which helped me fill in old dates.
Yes! I have the set in the red envelope (S) and the 1975 uncirculated clad p and d...my question is this, I believe my silver set would grade high. Do I send the whole set in for grading or take out prior? Can it be graded as a set?
My daughter gave me 3 coins in plastic today. They turned out to be Bicentennial proof Ike, Half dollar an quarter. They don't have clad. They are silver. The Ike is the fat block letters with the tail on the S swinging up to the middle serif in the E. I think the quarter an half are silver too. I dont see clad when i turn them the edge. The Ike looks to be a regular look to it. It is not satin finish or really really shiny. I watched your video. It was the best informative video I could find on them. Thank You very much for this video. They all 3 have the S mint mark
I just found your channel, as I just remembered my mom having one of these coins and gave it to me a long time ago. I just pulled it out and it is a D but sharp print. I love it because I remember the time, that Bicentennial year, and it's nice to have a piece of history from that era

Thanks again for everything an Stay Safe in this crazy world that we all are living in now my Good Friend.
I have a large binder of Ike Dollars. I also have several pages of bicentennial dollars. I have business strikes from the Philadelphia mint and the Denver mint. I also have several Proof Ike’s in both the clad and silver strikes. That book has sat for years untouched but protected. Since watching your video in which you reported what the good ones sell for at the larger Auctions, like Heritage, I’ll be retrieving that book out of the safe and taking out several of the different varieties and having them graded so I can send them to auction. You really got my attention when you announced that one brought $850,000 at auction. I’ll be checking mine out soon to see if that coin could have found it’s way into my collection. I’ve owned them for a long time and anything is possible. But regardless, it looks like it’s time to put the more desirable ones on the auction and let somebody else enjoy them. I’ve liked the large dollars since one of my Aunts gave me a few Morgan dollars when I was 5 or 6 years old. For some reason it left an impression on me and I’ve been collecting coins for almost 65 years now.
I visited my lcs today and bought 4 generic silver rounds. He ran out of paper one dollar bills so he gave me 4 Ike dollars in change. One was a bicentennial dollar coin.
I have collected the variety-1 D Ike dollar in 1975/6 and it has the uplift S tail also it has toning. I want to have it graded. I also enjoyed your information on all your coinage. Thank you.
Nice Video! I actually have a set of either 4 or 6 Dollallar coins. I forget which but they are inside their plastic blue+clear sleeves. I can't wait to take a better look at them.
Hello. I do have the same one dollar bicentennial coin. There is No mint mark of a (s) or (D) at all but a few scratches. I have it had collected since 2008. It left from a family member which was born in 1922 in Philadelphia. This coin is from Washington DC area. I never had the dollar coin checked or graded. Thank you of your wonderful details presentation of your video.
Yeah I have several bicentennial quarters that I saved through the last 30 years , many were pocket change, in circulation, but the fact that any of these could possibly bring a few hundred dollars is worth looking them over again!.... I just found my bicentennial set with the quarter and kennedy half dollar which are in the proof mirror like condition but although I have the isenhour dollar with no mint mark it unfortunately doesn't have a mirror like finish, which if I understand right is not a proof coin but a business strike.... still makes me wonder what this set would fetch at auction?.
I have a few and will be looking asap... Great vid. Since I've looked through them I found prob 7 er 8 bicentennial Ike's and yeh baby!!! One of them was a type 1 reverse, it has a Denver mint mark but it is in very nice condition to be found in a stack of these coins. Definitly in the Ms60's range, couple faint marks on the neck and a reed strike on the reverse but very nice overall. So props to you guys and this video, becouse before this I had never heard of the type 1 reverse. I found it almost couple months ago and it was the last rare coin I found to give ya the heart racing great feeling that coin collectors get hooked on. Thanks guys and keep putting out the great videos.

They are in my safety deposit box. I went through many sets and only kept perfect sets. I have a uncirculated collection of these and they are double die. I have it a while and everytime I look at them closer your just amazed by the way it looks
I have two 1971s, a 1972 and a 1976, all double die. Three of them are obverse and reverse double die. I would love to get them graded and they are in great shape.
If theoretically someone had 20 of the Denver minted bicentennial Eisenhower Type-1 dollars, plus two sets of SF proofs, what NGC grading tiers would you recommend? Walkthrough? Express? Economy? Modern? Any advice is appreciated.
They are difficult to find at the local banks. I used to get a few, once in a while. But I think bank employees keep them now. I did buy a few from the coin shop, for $1.25 each, just to add to my collection. One was '71 UC, and was in a small plastic container, from a local bank, celebrating Eisenhower.
I do have bicentennial Eisenhower silver dollars Proof set and business grade and shiny grade with out mint marks. Thank you for the information. It looks like there may be some value there. I don't know if the coins are worth $804,000 but I might find out what they are worth.

I just found 4 type 1 1975 proof 2 type 1 . Two in the silver red package 75/76. Those are the 4 and the 2--76 proofs are type 2. If you have the time please tell me if they are worth grading.
Yes i do have one I am confused with the Finish because I have a bicentennial Ike dollar with a shiny mirrored finish on the president and a matte background. It also has no mint mark stamped on it.
I just found two type 1 no mint marks from a handful I bought from the teller at a local bank branch a couple days ago. Now I gotta go back and hit up the other tellers and see if they got any in.
Hello JB. I send you greetings from Switzerland... I have a set of three silver coins from the Marchants Bank 75th anniversary 1901-1976, with the dollar, half, quarter coins of the bicentennial 1776-1976 this dollar type 2 and without mint mark...

Yes I just inherited 10 bicentennial and around 40 more with different yrs. Most seem to be in fairly top shape
