I have been collecting pennies for 60 years but not doing anything about it until I found a book of 1959 pennies to 1974 every one of them. I am finding all kinds of good stuff that I did not pay any attention to for 60 years. I cannot even go to sleep now because of all the coins I find. I found 100 64 Kennedys and they must have come from a set because they are beautiful and I have a huge bag of quarters all silver. I am a little dizzy right now finding all this stuff. Thank you so much for your help.
WOW!!!! Your so lucky. I inherited my grandfather's collection. Problem is I have no money for grading. I'm homeless and I know I have Mint coins. Wish someone could help. I have BU rolls 59,59D/D, 56,61,61D+P. A book of just 59s. I don't know what to do
As a Lincoln Cent collector, your insights into those that might be valuable are always great. Had no idea about the 1959s being as potentially valuable as they are. I have some in my "bags" of copper.... guess what I'll be doing!
I have a roll of fifty 1959 (no mint) pennies left to me by my grandfather. I was going through the coins and separating them into decades and chose to look at this year in particular as I was born in the fifties. I'm amazed to see how valuable they are. Thanks for the great video.
Wow...that MS68 1959 is stunning! I’ve held onto to all 1959’s in a separate container, time to check them! Amazing, great video! Yes, I did know 1959’s were valuable that’s why I saved them separately!
I’ve actually saved all of my 1959 pennies, but I didn’t know they could be worth as much as revealed in this video, wow! I was also surprised to find out it took over fifty years for the top grade D to come out and be revealed! I don’t have any dcam 1959’s at all, but I will keep searching for some. The mule coins though, those would be life changing to find for me! 👍

I had no idea there were so many things to look for in the 1959 pennies. I often Pole the copper pennies from my change and coin roll searches, but this opens up a wonderful Of coin roll hunting for me. I am going to check the pennies I already have, and continue with a new look at 1959. Thank you!
I would not have thought a penny would be worth that much! I have a bag of pennies I will be looking through soon. I will definitely be on the lookout for 1959s!
Wow!! No way did I think that they were that valuable. This is totally another reason to add to the list of reasons I love this hobby of all of ours :)
Wow!! I certainly didnt know the 1959 penny was worth as much as some are and had no idea about the History of the 1959 penny. It's amazing how much some of these Penny's sold for at auction ... I will certainly be on the look out for these... thank you J&B for all this cool information.
I was born in 1959 what a great year! The first year of the new design but I didn't know how valuable some of them are. thanks for the heads up I will be on the lookout for the special ones. I found a silver colored one that I think must have been zinc plated or something it's pretty cool.
1959 is special my sis was born. From. My time with J&B has taught me so much that I search for BU coins. You took me to another level of the hunt. No golden egg yet. I know I will and that is thanks to J&B..got to let my sis know how much her coin is worry
I knew they are special do to being first year of the memorial reverse. But didn't know that some could be worth that much. But with so many errors gives you a better chance of finding one.
I've always felt that the transition coins, like the 1959 cent, are worth keeping. I only collect pennies and I am very surprised to learn of the value for some of the 1959 pennies. I will have to check my collection to see if I have any of the ones mentioned in this video. Thank you for your informative videos.
I didn't expect the 1959 pennies could be worth that much. I have a few pennies from that year so I'm breaking them back out and checking them. I'll also now be searching for these. Awesome info.
No I never would have thought that the 59 one cent would be worth as much as some have been proven to be worth I only was aware of the 59 mule one cent . Thank you great video
I had no idea that a 1959 penny could be worth so much! Also, didn’t have a clue there were so many different varieties to look for. Thanks again for the always useful info!
Yeah I collect coins myself my great-uncle Mel passed away and come to find out he was a coin collector only met him a couple times when I was a young boy and he had a huge handful of 1959 and 1959-d and I came across a couple D Over S's... And I do have a couple pretty close to mint ones actually, a good seven or eight out of like 40 1959's and I was still learning then so when I came across them like why is he have so many 1959's and then I mentioned more into it and found out and I'm getting ready to send some of those 2 anac's
Not surprised by the high value but impressed by the great many varieties and errors and the importance of finding high grades by searching in Proof and Uncirculated sets as well, as always, in your change.
Going through my 5 gallon bucket and have a few so far but not in this great condition yet. I did by a coin scale and a cool magnifier to see doubling. Found a 1919 with issues and is as clean as this 1959. Any comments are grateful. Have 3 of this 59 with 1 D but all browning. Maybe it may be in my bucket. Thank you for your fine video.
Even though it was a 20 minute video. You know the part in friends where ross and Monica's mom on Thanksgiving got all that information in 30 seconds.. yeah that's how i feel right now!! That is a lot of information on one coin. I love the transition of the wheat cent to the memorial back. I did not know about any of the wrong planchet, or that they were worth so much money.. but i did know about trying to find one in high grades, for my book and one day sell it with all pristine cents.
Love the 59's and I have a UNC roll my grandpa gave me years ago. When I did a bit of research, I thought there was also a DDR on the 1959 P pennies? 4 on business strikes, and 6 on the 1959 P Proofs....according to variety vista? Unless I misunderstood what I was reading....
I never expected so many things to look for in 1959 penny. High graded proofs, errors, wrong planchet, I love learning from you guys. Thanks again. I hope I can find a mule in my next coin roll hunt.
No, I did not know there were this many 1959 errors on pennies. I only have a couple of this year kept due to transition coin; I'll have to give those another look! Thanks for another great video J & B !
Certainly I’ve not had a single notion that the 1959 Lincoln memorial reverse cent had any value. And My belief was to continue to look and find the 1958 last wheat cent reverse year and /or any errors in between. More to keep my mind off of serious issues is always a gift.Thank you much J
The 1959 pennies I can’t believe they are that valuable! I have a few 59 proof sets I will be checking them. I have a lot of old pennies and I will be looking through them for 59’s . Thanks again
Thank you, J&B, for all the information on the 1959 wheat penny and I have some to look through, not a lot as I am new and there’s so much to learn and remember but I am excited, and I am hooked! Blessings
Great timing for me as I'm going thru a box of pennys. I do have a few 1959 penny's I'll have to go and look at in flips. Thanks J and B! Awesome video with tons of information.
I have to 2 1959's, 1 has no mint mark and the other has a D mark. they are both in good condition with I acquired thru roll hunting. But now they both seem to not be the same because of all the great detailed info in this video.
Yes, I knew that they was very valuable 1959 pennies, and boy you bet I look for them. lol I look for many errors and varieties, but some are on the top of my list, the '59 is right there. Great video.
I had no idea the 1959 penny could be so complicated in value! While I don't think I have any that are special, I will always be on the lookout for more! Thanks, J & B!
Hi I just watched your videos on the 1959 D penny my Mother worked in a bank her whole life I just came across a box full of coins in it was a roll of the 1959D they are in excellent condition their was also a roll of 1967 no mint mark they don’t even look like they have been in circulation because they are so shiny so thanks for the information
I never thought a 59 penny would be worth soooooooo much!! The 59 with a wheat back could be an easy one to spot. Even for me. THAT'S exciting. Thank you J and B.
Just found a 1959 D in some change in a jar. Googled and come up with this video. Thanks so much for the insight! Now, where to go to have it graded? Never done this before. Help!
Good Evening J&B and my coin collecting family. J&B I have me two 1959 penny and one of them is a 1959 D penny. I'm so lucky Y'all to have them BOTH. GOOD NIGHT J&B AND FAMILY 💞.
Yes if you want to auction it then it should be graded. If you don't want to open the set then just keep on holding on it. 10 years down the road the mint sets will be worth more to collectors searching for the coins.
Hi J and Mrs B, this was an awesome video. It was loaded with a ton of important information. I never expected the 1959 Phila and the 1959 D to be worth some pretty decent money. Thanks a bunch! I need to look a my pennies again. ♡♡♡♡♡
Thanks for the info about the 59 pennies. Big bucks for high grade examples. Unfortunately I don't have any mint or proof 59 sets so the chances of me finding a high grade example is unlikely. I will be looking for the DDO though. My favorite is the 59 struck with the wheat back.
I bought bu-au rolls of different years through the years and some of the rolls I bought over the internet were not stored properly by their owners which resulted in discoloration, spotting, etc. Most of the rolls however are in bu-au condition and I have several of the 1962,1963, many 1960 small and large p and d, and back to 1944, 1945 and lots of 1950's dates. I like looking through them after watching your videos. I really need to learn the grading protocol better so I can send in the best coins I have for grading. It would be a huge waste if I sent in coins that are not in the grade that I think they are. Anyway, I appreciate your efforts, information is always a good thing to have.
when you were speaking about the artwork mistake of the 59 having a wheat-back instead of the Memorial, you had said Philadelphia. On the screen I'm looking at it appeared to have the Denver mark¿ I appreciate your videos, you speak clearly which is a huge plus, give very good details, and your style of video overall is pleasing. So, Thank You and I look forward to watching your future videos.
I have a red brown 1959 D mint ddo, with a double tie. It's either a double die or I think it might actually be a double strike because thickness of the letters and the numbers
Just got a bulk load of 50s pennies, can't wait to start looking for the 59! Thanks for the info JB Fam had no idea a penny that recent could go for thousands....😳
Once again, great information! I really enjoy 50’s pennies, maybe because I was born in 57. I enjoyed this video very much! Thank you again for sharing!!
I got this coin…it’s very valuable considering it is the first coin to have a Memorial design… I’ve got one with very shiny looks…wondering how much it is worth…
Just got three of the 1959 pennies in change at Walmart. They look brand new. And also got 3 1962 in change in the same drawer. I thought maybe someone raided their gmas coin collection. They are super clean and pretty. Wonder what they are worth.
I never thought a 1959 penny could be worth that much or that special! I had no idea pennies could be struck on dimes. Learn something every video J&B. See you tonight. Sorry I don't see you in chat much anymore. I watch on TV.💜
No, I did not know about all of these 59 pennies! I will be adding it to my dream list! I am learning so much from your videos and from being part of the J & B Family! :)
I have one strike penny 1959 no mint bot is in nice and red condition I don't know where I can sale my penny if sambody whant s the penny I give you cheap I'm tired collecting penny
I found some sweet 1958p bu, an a couple 1958d penny's that are major lookers for a possible ms68 or higher. Found em roll hunting, me an a friend. blew my mind finding those in a mix machine roll. Still look at em every day, got that perty new copper look on em. Proof coin price on here was crazy for a proof yo....
Great video and education -Thanks for posting this video l do collect them for little while From 1859 Indian to 2019 Having many of them already What makes me worry is the grading company -talking about P.C. GS To grade each coin will prapobly cost $30 dollars Then the coin will be prapobly worth less than $30 dollars Just going to keep them in my collections and continue stack the silver Can't go wrong with that
Combing through my first box of penny rolls and I found a 59 D in maybe lower 60 grade or high circulated grade. My magpie brain said "oooo, old and shiney" and plopped it into the "neat" section. So much dopemine from such little tokens. 😂
I didnt know the 59 memorial was worth that much, I have a lot of them that i keep just because first year, now i have to find them and look through them all!
No I did not expect to find all the information you gave about the 1959 penny. I am pulling all kinds of things out of about 20,000 pennies that have been collected over the last 60 years. There is some amazing stuff in that huge water bottle. It's too bad that most of them or a lot of them our Browns.
Very cool video I had no idea of the extensive history of the 1959 penny . so much information to take in and was pleasantly surprised of what they had been selling for at the coin auctions unreal !! Wow!! I an now on the hunt for these coins as well... Thanks
Very cool. I did know that some pennies and other coins are worth some money but I really didn't have any idea the spectrum of why how where and when's that occur in coins I have learned a great deal and am still hopeful for that one coin I have a 1959 penny I'm looking for it again among some others that I've saved I will let you know what it is to the best of my knowledge when I find it

I do know that there are very valuable 59 pennies like the mule but i was not aware of all of the other errors. Thanks for the great information!
Great video and education -Thanks for posting this video l do collect them for little while From 1859 Indian to 2019 Having many of them already What makes me worry is the grading company -talking about P.C. GS To grade each coin will prapobly cost $30 dollars Then the coin will be prapobly worth less than $30 dollars Just going to keep them in my collections and continue stack the silver Can't go wrong with that
wow so much for a penny I didn't no a 1959 penny could be so valuable
Combing through my first box of penny rolls and I found a 59 D in maybe lower 60 grade or high circulated grade. My magpie brain said "oooo, old and shiney" and plopped it into the "neat" section. So much dopemine from such little tokens. 😂
I didnt know the 59 memorial was worth that much, I have a lot of them that i keep just because first year, now i have to find them and look through them all!
no,i had no idea there is so many error"s on the 1959 pennies ...i"m going thru mine as of right now thank you for such great information ...
No I did not expect to find all the information you gave about the 1959 penny. I am pulling all kinds of things out of about 20,000 pennies that have been collected over the last 60 years. There is some amazing stuff in that huge water bottle. It's too bad that most of them or a lot of them our Browns.

Wow!! Never even heard of a 59 being worth that kind of cash. Definitely be on the lookout for these
I didn't expect the 1959 pennies to be that valuable, but I have found some really pretty ones!
