- Learn the very basics on how to use the Addi Egg iCord machine! Work up iCord at the speed of lightening.
This machine can be tricky, but following this tutorial will make using your little machine a breeze.
This is one of the best tutorials I have ever watched! Speaker’s diction very clear. Instructions clear as well. Nicely done!
I got my Addi egg today. While watching your tutorial I made a perfect I-cord! So easy to follow. I’m so happy. Now just need to find uses for I-cords. I had the 46 and 22 so I asked for the egg for my birthday. Going to research uses for I cords.
Thanks for this! I’ve been debating on getting the egg for a while and was worried because I had tried another brand for a similar purpose, but it was so confusing. Your tutorial makes it seem more straightforward and simpler than I thought it would be.
Just received the addi 46 and 22. Thank you for your tutorial. I read so many awful reviews on the Addi egg. I must say, your tutorial is the BEST WELL EXPLAINED TUTORIAL I’ve viewed by far. I’m convinced I will purchase an Addi egg very soon.
Well that is great to know. Thank you for this video. I saved it to watch again.
I found this tutorial quite by accident. Glad I found this one. I'm here and the date is August 18, 2022. I hope you still have the Addi iCord for sale. This tutorial helps a lot, thanks.
Your video was extremely helpful! I just received my Addi Egg and followed your step-by-step directions. Just finished making 3 yards of (perfect!) i-cord. Thanks for this great tutorial.
Thank you so much for your video, I was about to box it up to return. Your tension tips made the difference.
I love that it have 6 stitches, I have a 4 stitch I-Corder and I want a wider cord for purse straps. I ordered mine and it should be here in a week or two. Thanks for the tutorial .
OMFB, thank you for this video. I just ordered one today, and I'm so excited. This was very helpful.
Have had 2 try’s got it on the 3rd I have had my eggy for about 2 years thank you
OK this is one of the most awesome videos I’ve ever seen! I watched one other video of the egg and this one blows it out of the water! I’ve been subscribed for sometime. I’ve seen your online store and I am going to start an Etsy shop for my crochet items! You may have a new customer if I can’t figure out my stamping situation😊
I'm going to bit the bullet and buy one, thanks for the tutorial and sharing how you got it to work well for you. Caz
Super helpful video, thank you! I have a couple of questions - what weight yarn did you use, how many yards was your cake, and how long was the finished result?
Thank you for this!!!!
You made an excellent video 😃👏👏👏👏Thank You😃
Thank you 🧶
Thx u
Hi, awesome tutorial. Can you use #4, worsted weight yarn?
This one is so frustrating for me, and I just broke a needle :( ! I love your tutorial though, thanks for the time you put into it. I'm hoping that once I get the replacement needles to try again maybe with other yarns, not sure why mine isn't being very nice
I got my machine yesterday, made 2 great looking I-cords, then jammed and bunched on the 3rd? can't figure out what I am doing wrong.. great tut.
The twisting is becoming a big problem for me. I want to make an icord long enough to use as super thick yarn for a big blanket, but it is twisting so much, I don't know how I can ever get a whole ball done. Any suggestions?
Once you have made the i-cord, what can you make with it?
Thanks for the tutorial, with kind regards...
Hi do these machines work with waxed cotton string aswell? Or any other type of string which isn't wool?
Can I use a 2ply wool yarn? Or too thick?(900 yards per pound) or 216 yards per 4 oz skein)
Is there a way to change the color of yarn. I really don’t want to sew a lot of things together. I want to make a bathroom rug for my son. Thank you
can the addition egg handle stiff metallic cord?
I have had 2 different Addi Eggs and cannot get them to twist. The first one broke and Addi sent me another one. It skips stitches like crazy. The yarn doesn’t slide on the needle like it should. Also the crank handle falls off all the time. I really want it to work. I’ve tried all the yarns I put in the 5 other knitting machines I have and it still doesn’t work like this. I am open to suggestions.
Would the size of this work for thumbs/fingers on kids mittens?
Sorry what kind of wool do you use?
Is it supposed to continually click as you are cranking?
My gears keep grinding. With or without the dang weight. It seems like it doesn’t catch at all. I have zero tension besides the weight. I have no idea what to do
What do you use iCord for?
Thats what I 'd like to know, but I have found that by coiling the length and stitching together it can make a pretty bedroom rug, I'm making one for my granddaughter for her birthday, however I would love some more ideas if anyone has any!
Where can I buy it?
It’s not working for me I’ve tried six times without success. It keeps bunching up on one or two pegs. Why is that happening.
Do you know if it's possible to use this machine to make an icord with 3 stitches so that you end up with a thinner icord?
It's not. I do recommend the Tulip i-cord knitter for thinner i-cord. It's 4 stitches. We have them on our website and you can also find them on Amazon 🙂
@@angieandbritt thank you for responding. As for the Tulip I-cord maker, it works okay to make i-cord drawstrings for knitted shorts or leggings then? Does it works well with fingering weight and other light weight yarns, do you know? Thanks again! 👏
I have a different I-cord maker and have never been successful with it. Other people have no trouble. Maybe it’s me. I thought about trying this one.
I have a problem because i skip the thread i don't know what i'm doing wrong...
I am still having trouble with it. It keeps jamming up and sts stuck in needle
Same
What ply yarn did you put through the addi egg
Kathie Chalmers worsted 😊
I’m soooo frustrated with this machine. I’ve tried everything over 15 times no and it just keeps getting jammed up. I just tried again and followed your video and also tried very thin embroidery floss and also a smoother skinnier yarn and still no luck. It piles up on one needle 4 times and I don’t see it until it’s too late. I hate this thing right now. I put it up and I’ll think about it again next year. So frustrating... thank you for trying to help! I give up 😆
I had that problem too, but found if you keep the weight high up to the tube exit, it works perfectly, also don't crank backwards not even a little bit...I hope this helps ~
I got one but the weight did not come with it
Oh no! I would contact wherever you ordered it from and ask about it. You definitely need the weight for it to work properly.
I found it very difficult to hold the machine and crank at the same time.
Laura Edwards try holding it chest level and leaving your yarn on the floor. That's the most comfortable way for me.
Can you use clamps to hold the Addi to the table like the larger Addi? This looks so awkward. I have a Prym I-cord knitting mill that I bought because it came with a clamp. But I’d love to try the Addi since it is a little bigger. I have issues with tennis elbow so holding something up for long periods of time won’t work for me. Thanks.
Cannot find replacement needles anywhere. . Does anyone know where I can get them
try Amazon
email company I had interchangeable needle bamboo dog ate 1 end and they were happy to give me price and ship
Iam miss the weight
The yarn weight? If so, it's dk or worsted :)
