I get Birds and Blooms too. I don't even bother harvesting the thing. I ALWAYS want the whole dang thing!😂
Pretty much!!
I really love magazine harvesting. Sometimes when I need a little inspiration or am feeling bit 'dry', I grab a few magazines and cut and tear away. I have access to older magazines (1950-1990) and I have been saving some of the classified ads as well as the advertising that has commonly used artist supplies. Some of the typical companies have been around since the 1800's and it is truly mind blowing to compare then and now. Someday Ill do something with them.
I bet those are fascinating!
Yeah! Magazine harvesting! I love it and love hearing you give your ideas on projects. Thank you for the video!
Thanks so much for watching!
Love your laugh...you're a lady that enjoys her craft
I really do!
Thank you for the laughs
So glad you enjoyed it!
Oh yeah! I need to go take some more surveys! Whisky Advocate has become one of my fave magazines lately! I need to channel my inner Shannon and just harvest and recycle what’s left But I hang on to my mags because of what you talk about in the beginning about different eyes for different projects! TFS!💜
If I had room I’d probably hold on to them but I have to let them go and make peace with the fact that I might have sent some good images to the recycle bin. Then I pretend it doesn’t bother me and I feel all mature in my delusional state. So yeah. 😳
I never order anything off the reward survey points thing that asks for a credit card so then I don't have to worry about an automatic renewal! I'm very frugal (cheap).
Same!
I was just watching a few of your videos on my TV but I can’t comment when I watch on TV bc I’m not signed in so I have no idea which video I was watching but at the end you said “and I have nothing else to say” and just ended the video and I loved it 🤣🤣🤣 You are so refreshing and so real! I just love your personality and sense of humor! 💕
That’s so sweet of you to say, thank you!! ☺️
Great harvest and explanation on why you choose it. Quote: “You made this day a special day just by being you. There’s no person in the whole world like you and I like you just the way you are.” - Fred Rogers aka Mr Rogers. Huge hugs. Namaste 🐞🐞🐞
Thanks for watching!
I really enjoyed watching and listening to this video. You made me giggle at times, which was wonderful. :) Plus you have given me some ideas too. Thank you.
So glad you enjoyed it!
I just love to see your videos
I’m so glad you enjoy them!
Shannon, you should get the sports illustrated back out and put some of those football players and boxers into some of your elegant rooms! It would be so funny!
Oh I love that!!
Your videos make me smile! Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks for watching!
I enjoyed this harvesting session. You found good images. 😃👍
Thanks Phoebe!
You're welcome.
Very fun and creative!!!❤
Thank you! 🤗
I get a lot of the magazines you get for free too matter of fact your the one who told me about free magazines when I first started watching you lol.. I’m with you I absolutely hate fussy cutting too.. if I could have a friend who loves or likes it I’d give them ALL my things to cut lol.. I leave piles and piles to cut for months I hate it that much lol so yeah I’m with you.. 💜💜✌️
We need to find us some fussy cutting friends!
@@ShannonGreen truth 🙌🏻💃🏼💃🏼
Needed me a silly Shannon video today. :) I would need to keep that private collection image also. lol. So proud of your fussy cutting last week. You should send me all your fussy cutting needs haahahahaha.
Right?! 😂
Tunnel vision is a great description! I have to remember not to toss magazines that may have additional pics that can be used at a later time! Sorting and organizing after a harvest is a huge challenge so it would be great to know how you do that! I only have room for so many bins!
I’m still using this system: Storing & Organizing Scraps, Magazine Cutouts & Collage Images

Birds and Blooms magazines are great but they put to many pictures on.both sides and it makes some decisions hard to make
This is true!
Bird and Blooms is a hard one to harvest its hard to not keep everything
You’re absolutely right!
I love harvesting with you.😊
I love that you love harvesting with me! 😁
This was fun to watch. I find it interesting to see what you enjoy using It gives me ideas LOL❤ Blessings and be well, Shannon - Your videos are helping me get through this very difficult time xx
It makes me so happy to bring you a little spot of joy, Janet. 🤗

It doesn't surprise me to hear that you teach classes. I always learn something from your videos. Ty for the tips on free magazines. Do you know if you have to also sign up for the goodie boxes to receive the free magazines from the survey site?
You do not, answering the survey questions is all you need to do.
Tunnel vision is a great description! I have to remember not to toss magazines that may have additional pics that can be used at a later time!
You never know!
I love fussy cutting. Cutting paper is very relaxing to me 😊 But I understand why some people don't like to 😅
I’ve tried real hard to love it but just couldn’t make it happen! 😁
Shannon: I love fussy cutting. And with that said, I pull the smallest pictures to cut. I love the process of harvesting. You did very well. That woman you saved for all those years finally found her page. It is perfect! Another one you can frame. And that football player you saved for your personal collection? - I bet that personal collection is quite something! Haha. Enjoyed this relaxing session with you. Carol from California
Thanks so much for hanging out with me today!
Hi. I’m just two minutes in but your comment caught my eye. I too love to fussy cut. Idk if this is true or not, but I think most don’t particularly care for it. I too love the smaller images. There’s just nothing like that satisfaction once you get your image all cut out and it’s so detailed and perfect. I love that! Then finding the perfect spot for all that fuss. It’s like a job well done. I’m blabbing. Just happy to see another fussy cutter!
❤️💜💚
@pdmullgirl I totally get it!!
Thank you for this video and your insight! What was the name of the magazine that had really cool ads for wine and other liquors?
Whiskey Advocate and Wine Spectator are great for bottles!
Thanks for giving me “permission” to rip apart my magazines lol. Guess what I’m doing now?
Go for it!
I use reward survey :)
It’s a great resource!
😊👍👋
🤎
How often can you take surveys to earn more credit towards more free magazines? I just took one and it gave me $30 in credit. Which gave me 2 free subscriptions. Just wondered how often you could earn more!
You can go back and try multiple times even in the same day. It will tell you if there are no new surveys. Sometimes you have a wait a week for the magazine offers to change.
❤ new here
Welcome! I’m so glad we found each other 😊
Don't we all have things that we want to keep but not ever use it
So true!
