I have found the ultimate lazy lady way to store craft supplies... i just watch you do it all here and then take a nap of bliss and wait for the craft room fairies to come sort it all out for me. You don't happen to have some craft fairies do you?? My plan still needs work..... Love your zany, crafty, wonderful, paper soothing sense of humor and artistry lady!!!! 💞
Hey Shannon! Yes, the key is to nip it in the bud and get a system in place. Makes everything so much easier. There have days when I get to my craft room and have plans to make something but realize I need to organize and put some things away first. And having a place to put them , a place where you’ll like getting into and out of without it bothering you. It’s that overwhelming feeling that keeps me from creating so I have to stay organized. And I think it’s great when you have everything organized AND you know where it is. That’s a good feeling. Then you know your system works. Okay Shannon, I enjoyed the video. See ya next time. ❤️💜💚
It's not lazy, it's a real barrier to doing it, the more steps there are. Thank you for posting this - getting myself to use what I have and to be able to find it easily - or even in a fun way - is something I think about a lot. So much food for thought here!!
Shannon, I made a file system like yours several years ago from your previous video and it has continued to work well for me. I moved them from the box into a mini Ikea cart recently that sits within reach of my desk so I can access them easy. But the new thing I'll try is how you sewed the sheet protectors into the file folder. That's another great idea! Thanks so much!
That is a wonderful way to keep everything organized. I love this! There's nothing more frustrating than being unable to find what you want when you know you have it LOL. Thank you Shannon. Blessings and be well xx
I love the way everything is organized . I felt overwhelmed with what I have and did not know how to do it!! Now I will do it like you did ! Thank you so much 😊💜🦋💖
I've been using your system for awhile. I like the idea of subdividing some things. I'm going to try that. Quote: "Kindness is spreading Sunshine into other people's lives regardless of the weather. -RAKtivist. I shared this video. Huge hugs. Namaste 🐞🐞🐞
These things are like wire hangers you blink and they multiply 😂🤣😂🤣!!! I made this years ago too and I even did the splatter of ink or water colors too on my folders.. too funny.. love this lady so much!! Your sense of humor is so great!!! 💜💜✌️
I have a a whole file drawer just for sepia pictures cut from mostly "Reminisce" magazines. Have to organize those still. I have a similar system to yours. I did use 2 different sizes though, (one in hanging folders for large items and the small items in 2 smaller expanding files). I knew I had lots of magazines, but by the end of my organizing, I had gone through over 1700 magazines. Kept finding magazines stacked all over my home. My one bankers box became a large open file drawer on wheels, and 4 banker's boxes. I didn't put anything in page protectors, so I do have to go through the category to find an item, but this is kind of fun and reminds me of what I have. Hope everyone finds a systsm that works for them. I am so glad I did. Good luck! 😊
Shannon, I was so excited to see that my system is similar to your system. I even have folders for colors, like you do. I, too, use folders, but I use the translucent poly file jackets (in other words, sealed on three sides) which I get on Amazon. Being as lazy as you claim to be, LOL, using this type of file jacket allows me to toss things in without fear of them falling out. My file jackets take up one and a half drawers in my desk. From time to time I go through and edit the contents because of space limitations as I do not have room to expand. BTW, on a slightly different topic, after seeing your paper dolls I've started to make those, too and am having tons of fun placing them in rooms and in outdoor environments.
Wow! I love how detailed your storage system is, especially the paper doll one! It seems to me that it was well worth the effort it took you to set that all up!! Which I'm sure was not easy!
Shannon: sorting and organizing is always an issue with crafters. I, too, am an organized hoarder. Right now, all my pages are in a collection of sorting. It is out of hand. However, I do enjoy going through and organizing. There are so many pages that are creatively shown in magazines now. Sometimes it might be the whole magazine. Haha. This was a good video. You gave good helpful easy advise. Thank you. Carol from California
This is really clever! I have 3 different folders of images and don’t know where I put the files! LOL I’m going to do this Organization Hack. Thank you so much!
My binder is buckled so it's time to revisit my storage system, this looks like my type of style as I want to find images easier, thanks for sharing your system ❤ for colours I do a multi colour section also.
Hi Shannon! I just found your channel and am delighted to say I have this same system (minus sewing in the plastic) and have had it this way for 2 years. Mine are in file folders in a cardboard box (or 3!). Last week I glued wooden plant coasters to the bottoms so they are on wheels now. Words/phrases are a hard one for me too. Thanks for sharing and I have become a new subbie!!
Great ideas for organizing magazine images! I'm always looking for easier to find methods for my own images! I might have to give it a try. I have three different places I'm storing them right now! lol
I use a file cabinet with folders labeled for each category. Easy to just drop them in their folders. Can add categories as I go if needed. Works well for me. 😊
Like you, I have alot of images 😂 I've watched a lot of organizing videos and tried different methods of organizing. I've decided, for me, it depends on what kind of collage I'm working on to how I go about finding images. I have binders for specifics. I have file folders. Then I have a couple 😂 of boxes I sort through from time to time to be inspired or find other things to go with a focal image I picked. Plus, it depends on my mood that day 😅 Thanks for your input 😊
Yeah, I've been collecting images for years.... and have only recently started to use them.... but they're not really well organized, yet... I've been trying different methods... but none of them seem to work for me.... and I have SO much! Anyway.... Thank you for sharing your system. 😃👍🏼
Hahaha - just as you were showing the picture of the Dali Lama and saying that perhaps he might not be needed for paper doll parts. I said to myself, “The Dali Lama, The Pope, and Bruce Springfield!” Just as you turned to his photo ❤😎
Thank you for showing us your system! I just finished sorting my papers into categories but held together with clips. Not sustainable! I’m off to the office store for folders and storage sheets!🎉
Right now, i have everything by size... My sizing is as follows: size of my hand, size of my fingers, size of the tip of my fingers... And that works when you wanna glue all Willy nilly but now I want to glue with a purpose so i think I'm gonna have to reorganize like this into categories... The image dilemma is serious. Newbies have to start early! I'm in the THOUSANDS of images with totes full to be fussy cut still 🤦🏻♀️ it's an addiction
I have things like receipts, library cards, handwritten notes and papers, vintage invoices and cancelled checks, clothing tags, weird stuff that doesn’t really fit anywhere else.
Not dumb at all! I get mine from thrift stores; at those stands of free magazines you sometimes find at restaurants, grocery stores and other local businesses; my hair stylist; my local visitors center/travel bureau; and at rewardsurvey.com.
Looks like you need to spend more time creating with your hoard. Crafter, including myself, have more than we will ever use in our lifetime or 2 or 3. LOL

I’ll have to look into that kind of file jacket, you wouldn’t happen to have a link would you?
That’s my goal- be a tidy hoarder lol Creative Blessings
Yes!! 🤣
I think my storage brain works like yours. It was nice to see you again! You were one of the first channels I watched but lost track of you.
I’ve been away from RUclips off and on for the past few years because life happens sometimes. 😕 But I’m so glad we’ve reconnected!

...WOW ! that is a LOT of fussy cutting! Your organization style is very satisfying...
Thanks so much for watching!
Oh my gosh. I’m just starting out and this kind of overwhelmed me lol
Look away!! 😆
The wire hanger thing made me laugh. I do keep a few, just in case. In case of what I don't know! 😂
If just in case ever happens, we’re set! 😆

It’s a lot of work to consolidate your images and set up a system but it’s so worth it!
Bravo from a fellow hoarder! I was trying the plastic mesh zipper bags. Please don't ask how many boxes of those I have... lol!
I wouldn’t dare! 😂
I remember watching your videos when you used the binders.
They worked great for quite a few years!
I love your system Shannon, thank you so much for your lovely video and idea's...Kia Kaha Stay Strong...❤

Very helpful for my image hoarding. Thank you 😂❤❤❤
We hoarders have to look out for each others!
You’re so organized!!
I am today but I make no guarantees for tomorrow!
Shannon, your big binder is an amazing “Criminal Minds” episode wanna be! It could be the offender’s playbook! Or the Profiler’s!
🤣 Love it!!
I still have mine stored like this after that video😀. But I am going to add color files
Nothing better than a system that works for you!
❤❤❤
Did you buy your dividers and then decorate them using your gel plate so colourful
I used spray inks directly on these but a gel plate would be great too!
😊👍👋

There is very little organization with my magazine images. Yes, it has gotten quite out of hand.😅 and yes, I get overwhelmed.
I feel ya!
Shannon...... You need a secretary!!!
Yes!!!
What type thing is in your “Ephemera” folders?
I have things like receipts, library cards, handwritten notes and papers, vintage invoices and cancelled checks, clothing tags, weird stuff that doesn’t really fit anywhere else.
@@ShannonGreen ok thanks! That helps a lot! Going to start painting folders tomorrow!
Where are good places to find magazines? Maybe a dumb question

Baaaahhhahahaha. Mine is out of control. I macro and micro organize but save more than I use. LOL. You sure you need more people?!?!! LOL
Yes I need more people, don’t judge me!! 😂 I also have a people project coming up so that helps me to justify my collection. 🙂↕️
