Awesome guys, thank you, great tech , found this very helpful when trying to locate where to cut into the harnesses for the speakers and yes i have subscribed :)
@@TheFittingBay G'day guys, at the time I couldn't find anyone who had fuse jumps, found them at battery world the other day so i will be using them, much better idea. with all my cars i usually run power direct from the battery with a toggle switch to turn on//off, i do this as i also sleep in the car on my trips from brisbane to townsville, cuts battery drain and easy in all my old cars, modern electrics are little more indepth, i noticed in your video that the 3rd fuse slot from the left was empty and also constant, can i use this with a fuse jump and 5amp fuse instead of the lighter socket ? regards Bob
Bob Bushie Hi bob! That isn’t a bad idea at all! It is a little harder with modern electrics, especially in newer German cars! Yep you can definitely use the empty slots in the fuse box, just make sure you put the fuse jump in the right way. Basically the side with the wire should be away from the feed side on the fuse box. So the power actually runs through the fuse. If you wish to use the toggle switch go to constant, otherwise you can find an ignition/switched power and connect to that. If you need any further help don’t hesitate 😊
@@TheFittingBay Thanks Guys, I do want to hook up the steering wheel remote but not sure which wire to splice on that one , do you have a video on that yet, can;t seem to find one , no urgency be another week tidying up a couple of things for rego. regards Bob
I was using this guide to wire speakers to a aftermarket amp. I accidentally wired the wrong end on the driver's side and basically wired the icc end to the amp and now the icc smells burnt 😳 😅
Great explanation, but I was using blue plug under steering to conect aftemarket stereo, but I think it is better option use piggy fuse for yellow constant power and use cigaret lighter wires for assesory and earth wire.I have had installed stereo with big screen and reverse camera and my car batery was drained few times , and fuse brown 7.5 was burn and mobile assesory fuse to 7.5 brown. Your way of conecting aftemarket stereo open my mind "whay my car batery was flat two times, because I have had conected stereo on blue plug under steering where is audio and phone conection".
Grey help with fitting to my BF ute. The head unit I purchased is a pioneer DEH-S5250 BT this has a separate orange and white wire for illumination, I was wondering to where to connect that too. Also what colour are the front speaker wires for the bf ute and are they in the same place as no back speakers I'm aware of.
Bruce Turner Hey mate! Illumination is optional. If you connect it, the unit will dim when you turn the lights on. You can find the genuine ICC plugs where we mount the new aftermarket radio. You’ll have to unplug them and test for 12v power when the lights are on. When you switch the lights off one wire will lose 12v. Alternatively you can extend the wire and run it closer to the light switch. Same thing. You’ll need to test for illumination. Also they do have rear speakers! Hidden in the back there 😂. Speaker wires + colours are same as per video
@@bruceturner6946 hey, i purchased the same head unit. how did you end up connecting all of the wires to the car? did you use this fuse method? i'd prefer to splice into the loom but not sure where exactly
Hi, great video and very helpful. My BF Falcon Ute doesn't have Orange/Green Orange/Black combo - it has Orange/Grey and Orange/Black. I don't have any other Orange wires so I am guessing I must have the right one??
Suresh Bopitiya Thank you! If you’re looking in that loom behind the glove box. Keep looking. It’s there 😀. If unsure use a test light to make sure there is no power on either wire (ignition on) if there is no power you can use a speaker popper to test.
@@TheFittingBay Thanks again. Really weird, my front speaker wires were orange/grey and orange/black! I bought a cheapo ALDI radio with a reverse camera (I just wanted the reverse camera) and the AERO din kit you recommended at the start of your video. The radio didn't quite fit as neatly and from the back of the kit. I had to make the opening bigger. I am happy with the end result, however I am not sure if I have fitted the pocket in correctly as it is really hard to access. Tomorrow, I am going to fit the camera. I've run the wires and I plan on cutting a hole in the bumper and sliding the camera from the back. Thanks again for the great video. I must have watched it 7 times and re-watched sections even more whilst I was installing.
@@scottstinson7471 Mine already had the rear speakers installed plus wiring for a subwoofer which I removed. It was a bit fiddly to take out. Easily depends on how handy you are! I am not extremely handy, but could probably get it done via RUclips of course!
Hey man appreciate your content. I have a 07 bf2 I've wired a jvc KD-X472BT Head unit exactly the same as you have also have a 600w sound Magus running, have triple checked speaker wires, constant, power, accessory, rca's, remote ground and power but the power wire fuse just keeps on blowing out really getting to me, hoping you'd have some advice as to what the issue(s) may be thanks! P.s Head unit and speakers are fine just fuse issue leading to zero power to amp cheers.
Tai Clip Hey mate. Check the amp powers and make 100% sure you haven’t got GND And 12V+ backwards. Sounds silly but it happens. Following that I’d check the power cable for the amp from the battery and make sure it hasn’t gotten spliced or crimped anywhere where it’s now touching the body of the car. Also check where you’ve done the ground and make sure it’s a solid ground position though this is an unlikely cause. Send me some photos to info@aesonline.com.au if you need more help
Hey, do you know if the Kayhan BA/BF Falcon ICC units (version 3) are any good? Reviews are mixed, it's hard to know if the problems are due to dodgy installs, not updating software or poor quality units...
Jas George combination of all. They’re cheap Chinese units. Not too bad all things considered but I would go for a Pioneer unit with retractable screen or something like that 😎. If you want youtube Netflix etc then go for the KAYHAN but don’t expect Alpine, Pioneer etc quality :)
Not sure if you’ll reply but I have a bf sedan and was curious if my rear deck speakers will still work when rear speaker wires are connected or do I have to connect to some other wires
i can’t seem to find the driver side door speaker wires the only ones twisted are pink and purple and i tested them and they’re not the speaker. what should i do?
Pawanpreet Singh Depends where you’ve put the amp. If it’s on the back seat you can remove the rear seat (seated part) and use a seat belt bolt. Or sand back some of the paint and screw into the body. Just make sure you’re not screwing above the fuel tank.
I found that the metal brackets that came with my aeropro fascia cover were way too long and were hitting one of the A/C ducts and wouldn't fit in properly. Ended up cutting them with the angle grinder and they fit so much easier. Also, my cup holder is also broken. Stupid bloody thing 🤦♂️
