Love Song of Kalua at Coco Palms-Fantasy Island

- The Love Song of Kalua first heard at Coco Palms for Bird Of Paradise, filmed in 1951, then again at Coco Palms for Fantasy Island, sung by Larry Rivera and daughters in 1979. Other portions of the movie were filmed on the Big Island of Hawaii. Debra Paget is stunning in this film.
I had lunch with Uncle Larry just under two weeks ago. We went to Tip Top and had Ox Tail soup and Banana Pancakes!! Afterwards Uncle Larry was kind enough to take me to this exact location at the old Coco Palms!! Even though he's now 92 years old, he has many amazing stories of Elvis and other amazing actors who he had the pleasure of knowing. If you are in Kauai, I highly recommend that you go see Larry perform. He's an amazing man who is a perfect example of what it means to live Aloha!! As Larry always says, Love and Aloha to you!!!

Larry and his daughters made a truly beautiful version of this song. It haunts me, I wish someone could remaster it from fantasy island without the dialogue over it. Truly beautiful!

Mine, too. My only complaint is that Larry and his daughters should have been allowed to completely finish singing without interruption. Even though I did not like Don Ho's performance as much in the show, i feel he should also have been allowed to sing his song completely. I don't know why this episode did not release these two songs.
Me & my Wife met Larry a few days ago in Kauai. We really enjoyed our visit with him. What a beautiful soul. Aloha

Both are wonderful, but Larry Rivera and his daughters do an exceptionally great job. I'd love to have a recording of this music.
