Mark Richards saved my life in 1999. I worked for Tim Hitt from1993 to 1999. I started to self destruct not caring about life itself. Mark came to me and said we can't let you stay with us on this path. After I left Rocket Chassis I had to change my life. I credit Mark Richards for saving me!!!!

I agree so much with the no local heroes anymore, I'm a huge fan of dirt late models but in our area of Southern Ohio, Eastern Kentucky, West Virginia, we've lost the Jack or Jackie Boggs, Eddie Carrier Sr. and Jr, Delmas Conley, Josh McGuire, Steve Casebolt, etc. I'm guilty of this myself because I've quit going to our local shows to follow the crown jewels. I used to never miss a local weekend but now I'll catch myself watching Flo instead.

I remember back when I got all my racing news from subscriptions to Circle Track magazine and a full color glossy called Open Wheel. There was almost no racing on TV unless you had satellite or cable TV. If you wanted to be more up to date than that, you heard it in the pits at your local race tracks. I grew up going to those St Louis-area race tracks like Lake Hill Speedway and Tri-City Speedway. Dirt track fun.

Streaming is hurting the locals but when he spoke of needing $125,000 race cars in order to compete, that is true but…. the different rule packages are killing them as well. The WoO and XR was just in MN, there are plenty of guys here with “$125,000” cars but didn’t stand a chance. Races paying $15,000-$50,000 and there was on average 24 cars. If the Wissota cars would have stood a chance there should have been 40-50 cars a night!
