- Kelley Earnhardt Miller welcomes World Racing Group CEO Brian Carter for the first edition of the Business of Motorsports for the 2024 season. After growing up a racing fan in Texas, Carter ventured into the business finance world working for Deloitte and specializing in public to private transactions. In the early 2000s, while working with a software company, he was approached by the owners of Boundless Motorsports, who were in the process of purchasing the World of Outlaws and United Midwest Promoters operations. Carter jumped at the opportunity to get involved with the dirt racing enterprise, and a short time later he became CEO of what is now known as World Racing Group.
Brian and Kelley discuss the state of the motorsports business world in the early 2000s when a lot of major racing entities such as NASCAR, Speedway Motorsports Inc, and WRG were publicly traded companies. He also explains the vertical structure of WRG, which encompasses 15 dirt touring series across the country, sanctioning racing in many different divisions of short-track cars. The interview covers WRG’s streaming platform DirtVision and its impact on increasing awareness and exposure on both a weekly and national racing scale. Carter explains that having more of WRG’s events available for countrywide viewership has not only helped create an influx of sponsorship funding for short-track racers, but it's helped bring new spectators through the track gates.

Your dad would be so proud of you and Jr. You and your brother have really become players in racing outside the car.
I like Kelly and Dale jr's accent. We miss senior personallity was bigger than life.
Idk why why, but i just feel something bad for Kerry!!
She is definitely the most accomplished woman in NASCAR in my opinion. So fun that she has her own podcast now. I’ve been waiting for this. She’s so interesting & inspiring
Imagine if she ran DEI, what would that brand be now.
@@dwaynecossey4867 well, she’s doing a damn good job with JRM. I’m sure DEI would be great. Another reason everyone hates Theresa. Dale’s big mistake. I guess she made him happy 🤷♀️
Now to see the best of the best, you really need to watch/attend the really big races where all the World of Outlaw drivers and the High Limit drivers will be racing at the same time.
If nobody else like this interview I did a lot of insight I love dirt racing and hope it will continue to grow 🙏 ❤❤❤❤❤
As Brian is talking, you can imagine Kelley's brain going 100mph!!
She has such great business acumen!
Nah, she has integrity. She knows the basics. She just an honest hard working women with character and integrity. I can imagine she’s an amazing mother too. Probs a great wife. She’s one of those types of women. Just trust worthy and good. That helps in business. NASCAR business people seem so much more genuine compared to the banks and people my business deals with on Wall Street. I hope they don’t deal with people like that. They’d ruin the sport.
@@AlexandertheGreat033 I couldn’t have said it better. Class act & so smart. Maybe that could be her next venture. Will have to see what direction Wyatt goes in.
Kelly while yall were racing at MBS, I got it in my head that you would become the first lady Winston Cup champion. Broke my heart when you quit racing, but deep down I knew you made the right decision......Hugggzzzz from an ol Randolph county boy.
Not the Dale JR. down load channel.🤣🤣🤣🤣
I miss watching you race at Myrtle Beach when we were both close to the same age. I dreamed of being behind the wheel and had a small time run at GPS, but I think you could have been a championship driver if you had decided to go that route. I'm very proud of you, Kelley!
WOW…Really a great show, and watching you interview Brian… I GREW UP IN CHATTANOOGA, TENN AT BOYD’S SPEEDWAY DIRT TRACK.
Kelly and Dale are amazing
Kelley seems so cool! I love her personality!❤
I attended my first WOO Late Model show at Volusia last month. I was impressed by how quickly they ran the show and the video boards were super nice addition.
I love that Kelly appears to be sitting on a couch cushion. For some reason it just makes me smile.
Great interview love watching dirt racing just hate working on the cars I don't miss 2am in the car wash cleaning the mud off
Love these interviews
very informative look from a business model in a tuff sport.
I applaud these in guys getting racing specially dirt on the air because I know many who were Saturday night racing fans and can't get there anymore! In saying that if they don't get a handle on the rising costs of hands on racing it will be a wash, I have been around it for years and helped many including working on teams and in shops and without a doubt feel for these teams that scrape every week to make it to the track!
I too was in my mother’s belly going to Old Dominion Speedway in Manassas , Va. I understand his passion
I am a big fan of Dirt racing and streaming the races I am disabled and this helps me out but Dirt on Dirt is getting too pricey Flo sports and Kyle Larson have a great thing going on but Dirt on Dirt needs help
I’ve seen the outlaw sprint cars race at Rolling Wheels Raceway in Eldridge,N.Y.
They are amazing
Kelley’s accent reminds me of my aunts and I’m so here for it 🤣
Heart O Texas Speedway shout out! That's the track I grew up going to! Very cool
Good ol waco tx drove by it a bunch of times over the years never hit it right to stop and watch the races
His attitude towards charters is exactly why High Limit began in the first place.
Do you just stick your head into the sand when it comes to what charters have done to motorsports? It seems like the only way possible to still seem them as a good idea.
Hello Kelly stop by the gift store, and picked up a tee shirt .love the shop and gift store
This makes my day…Kelley has her own podcast. Absolutely love when she’s on Dale Jr Download & now she is on talking business. I love that she picked World of Outlaws. Finally something she’s not an expert on, but I’m sure she knows plenty. One of the smartest people in NASCAR. I don’t think there’s any business she couldn’t run. Love that her kids are successful too. Amazing people the Earnhardts (Now Miller, but still Earnhardt. Maybe the kids could be Earnhardt-Miller too 😉)
Mannassas speedway? I assume he means Old Dominion - my home town track and birthplace of the Late Model Stock Car. Another piece of racing history gone forever.
Great Interview!
Also what about the all-star series in Ohio that has been the first victim of this promoter battle?
Those races were staples of the Midwest.
Love ya Sista🏆🏁
the poster of the #2 Wrangler car on the wall looked mighty familiar to me so i went looking through some old Nascar stuff i collected in the 90's and sure enough i found that same poster still wrapped in plastic in mint shape.....very very cool....having it framed as we speak
Kelly do you think your kiddo will stay in dirt racin. You guys ran well at Tulsa definetly like ta see a modified after the midget then a super late model, theres alot of good young talent coming up I've been watching this 15yr old Talan Willis a awesome youngman I think you and Jr should keep an eye on. Awesome work Kelly you guys do amazing work. 🏁🇺🇸🏁👍
Hopefully everything will go towards dirt racing rather than NASCAR
Still difficult to believe that Devil’s Bowl is gone😢
Not only can the sponsors watch but the potential customers watch streaming.I dont think Dennis and Theresa are too old to travel.😅 I actually went to school with Theresa.
❤
Brian Carter - The definition of a leader!
World racing group hasn't been great since 10 years ago. There are better options out there now
Get some biz development and sponsor sellers on.
My question for him is why they stopped following NASCAR to places like Texas, Las Vegas and Talladega on the same weekend. In my eyes, that is a prime audience that is guaranteed to sell out every time.
High limit is doing that.
I miss the Vegas Race.. i use to go every year..
Genius way to address the whys your payouts and whatnot are where they are. You’re long term focused. High limit is a temporary. That money won’t be sustainable
I hate to be negative, because I love Kelley and the whole Dirty Mo crew..... but does anyone else find this new set distracting? It's a visual mess, and more 'harsh' than the previous set IMHO. I don't like it, it's a step backwards.
Not the best dirt racers in the world now. Those are running High Limit. Well Gravel is still there. By the way Kelley you’re awesome!
Also same day as the beginning of the plague on Egypt April 8
Between his sister and his wife, jr would be lost without them both.
Brad Sweet and Kyle Larson sure have stirred the pot.
It’s sad that Highlimit and WOO made the driver/team make a choice to race a series.
That’s pavement being laid over those grassroots all for the promoter to make the cash grab while being sold that you want to create an exposure thru streaming.
I’ll buy my ticket at the gate.
If you charge me $40 for a winged sprint car race you should at least be able to give me a 40 lap feature if not a 50 lap feature. I don't want to hear about that's why they're called Sprint cars. If dirt late models can give me at least a 50 lap feature for less than $40 so should winged sprint cars.
Dirt late models are built for longer races sprint cars are max performance cars built to go as fast as possible on dirt, sounds like you have been given an awnser and just want to be stubborn
Eliminate Heat Racing since it is so boring anyway.
Go to longer 50lap features.
Qualifying is a 2 session 1 lap each format. The number 1 pill draw goes out first but in the 2nd session he goes out last then average the 2 laps and so on thru the field. There would be more to it but generally speaking
Just spit ballin
BS
focus the dam camera on the people speaking,
NOT the mic stand or table or background pictures etc...!!!!...
you would think they would have this room dialed in by now...
COMEON.. be a dam professional for Dales sake.
A long weekend of sprint car racing is more fun than a weekend of nascar.
1999 I found Eldora!
Lived an hour an a half away.
Slowly quit going south for my stockcar fix.
When they quit racing at the Rock, all I had left was Bristol and Charlotte.
Since it has become spec racing it is so boring.
World of Outlaws of puts on a better show than Lucas Oil series in a production point of view but there racing does not have the best of the best every week. One thing I find odd is WRG owns Dirtcar and Dirtc sanctions The Dream and World 100 at Eldora so why are those two races on Flo Racing and not Dirtvision, see how odd that is.
Bring a late model race to california , please!!!!
This sounds looks like a promoter battle that’s moved to streaming airwaves that will kill grass roots racing.
Flo And Dirtvision audios are garbage. I would rather read the paper results than to watch a race with people yapping 90% of the time and struggling to hear the cars.
Hope people with all the money don’t destroy dirt track racing.
Thanks to Dirty Mo Media, the folks behind the scenes and especially Kelley and Dale for bringing the motorsports world into the light with extended, in depth, and insightful programming for the fans who want to go beyond the hype.
As a motorsports junkie that has seen every major motor racing sport live, I confirm that World of Outlaws is #2 on the list of must-see events in racing. P.S. bring your goggles if you're anywhere close to the corners.
What's your #1
@Pbeats100 NHRA top fuel drag racing. It is a complete assault on all of your senses and something TV just can't do justice to. Another neat thing is that you can still go into the pits and watch the crews rebuild an engine in 30 minutes.
I kind of see this as an interview for investment.
Have you ever checked out Taylor Kuehl racing on you tube
These are my favorite podcasts. Love the business side of the sport.
