Vinsanity!!!!! I’m drowning in Rapid Chargers on top of the standard chargers for $139 plus tax not gonna buy this. Rapid charging is bad for lithium ion batteries to begin with and the fact it takes that long to charge two batteries negates the upside. I’d rather build a tower of power like you did and save that money to buy something with more value, like a tool or a knife! Thanks bro!
Worst £100 I ever spent. First time I plugged in a 12 Ah battery, it blew the fuse. I really really hate the "almost done" green flashing light on the rapid charger. (90% charged or something like that) Time and time again, I keep walking over to my charger because I see a solid green light and think my battery is done, only to have it flash on me mid stride... maybe they should have made it flash faster. I really don't know, but it annoys me. (And maybe only me) But it's a feature I don't care for, and Vince, your right. Why not just use multiple rapid chargers? I totally agree. I guess people always want to spend money and have the next best thing. But it's not always the most practical thing.
It is a good thing since lithium batteries don't like being completely full or empty. If you keep it between 10%-90% (or 20%-80% even better) you increase the lifespan according to current battery theoretics

Look at the cord paths they put on the back of that new charger! I think for anyone who only has M18 tools, that new, dual charger makes perfect sense. Or, even someone who has the M18 and M12, but the M12 get very little use, the dual M18 charger makes sense. How much M12 do you really use on the job site?

I'd love to see a back to back test between the rapid charger and the super charger, both charging 12Ah M18 batteries and the dual rapid charger charging two 12Ah M18 batteries to confirm the actual performance. One possible explanation as to why the dual rapid charger may not charge two 12Ah batteries in the same time as the single rapid charger charges one 12Ah battery, is its maximum power output may not be twice that of the single rapid charger, but for example, it may charge two 5Ah or 8Ah batteries in the same time as the standard rapid charger charges one 8Ah.
I'm curious what amperage The duel rapid charger is charging at... Seems to me like it's going to be somewhere right in between charging current of the standard charger and the rapid charger. but since it doesn't charge as fast as the rapid charger I don't think it should have the name dual rapid charger.

What a terrible video at the end. The 130 min specification is for both the 48-11-1808 AND 48-11-1802. Just buy the M18 & M12 Rapid Charge Station charger that has 3x m18 and 3x m12 charge ports all on one charger. Can charge 3 batteries at a time depending on what was plugged in first. Solves all these problems.

Just bought a Waukee string trimmer and pole saw attachment that comes with a rapid charger. No way will I ever consider charging my batteries on it or any charger that charges quickly. Quick charging causes the cells and ions to heat up higher than they normally would on a regular charger. Li ions do not like heat, and degrades their life expectancy. Considering the cost of these batteries...... I try my best to preserve them as long as I can. i.e. storing them at 50% charge indoors at around 75° F, never depleting them to less than one bar (the flashing one bar indication), always allowing them to cool for at least 2 hours in an air conditioned environment before charging them. Slow n' Low that is the tempo! I got more batteries than I know what to do with, so I do have the luxury to do all this. My iPhone 13 can handle a very rapid charge, but it will never see it. Plug the charger(s) into a Kill a Watt to measure the wattage being delivered to the chargers and batteries. That'll answer whether or not the current is being halved and split across the two batteries. If that's the case, what a rip off! I'd rather use the sequential six port charger.
Rapid charger ftw. It’s small, free with certain kits, charger just a little bit slower than supercharger. At the end of the day it’s a no brainer. Just buy a tool kit with extra battery and rapid charger to put you in a surplus of spare batteries
What’s the written spec on the rapid charger? How does that compare to the written spec on the dual rapid charger? Also, is the dual charger simultaneous, or sequential?
I put this to you! Who has multiple flat batteries onsite at the same time during a work day? I purchased the super charger as I wanted faster high output charging when the battery goes flat when I am using it. The way I use chargers is off the tool onto the charge. Speed matters. I’m an electrician apprentice and we’re sponsored by Milwaukee, in our work we only use M18 on our job sites so the dual m18 charger is amazing for everyone in our school
I think they are behind in the chargers and pricing, would be nice to find out the charging time in a test though to see if they messed it up. But I think I would still rather have the rapid for 12 & 18
I would love to see charge times for the dual-bay rapid charger for the M18s. I don't own any M12 stuff (and would prefer to not ever). I want something that will charge quickly. If the Rapid charger beats the dual-bay, so be it. I can get 2 of the rapid chargers. Also, where's the multi-bay charger strictly for the M12 batteries?
It exists. (Or at least used to...) I have the 6 bay m12/m18 rapid charger. Works pretty good. Just have to stagger the batteries if you're using both at the same time, as will only charge one battery per bank at a time. (Like having three rapid chargers on one cord, and can plug in more into the through-plug.)
I don't think it makes sense to me to have a dual bay. Myself, I have 2 standard M18/M12 chargers and 1 Rapid Charger. I would just take a standard and a rapid with me to the job site because of the convenience of having both battery options and availability. That's just my opinion and I have to agree with you on the charge time of the dual bay charger and its price. It doesn't make sense. Great video Vince.
I dont get why in the world these batteries and chargers are all so expensive AT ALL. I fly custom drones with lipo 6s batteries all the time and those need a huge power supply and everything to charge and none of that is even close to the price of these name brand chargers and batteries its stupid, the batteries take maybe 10 bucks to make and then the charger not even 10 bucks to make and they want 70 or so for a charger and anywhere from 50 or so to infinite dollars for the batteries... the batteries they use are basic cells that we can all buy and replace if your handy with electronics. NO reason for the high crazy prices for the batteries and chargers. the actual tool I can understand being expensive there is a lot of R and D in them but not the batt and chargers. stupid..
i never understood why they could not make the rapid charger charge both the M18 & M12 at the same time...no reason for it other than some heat build up...so put a fan in it
Hi Vince, I purchased the milwaukee 6 bay rapid charger (3) m18 & (3) m12. Milwaukee should had made this model in a super charger style. This way you have both batteries that can charger faster but really it doesn't charge the m12 any faster then the rapid charger. So i do see the dual without the m12 charger. Milwaukee should had made a dual super charger or a 4 bay super charger like DeWalt. Maybe, they should also make a separate 4 bay m12 rapid charger for does who only use the m12. Just my thoughts. Just got out my 3 bay 12 and 18 charger. It rapid charges 6 Batts at once. 3 M18 and 3 M12.
Hey VCG, I'd like it if you guys made a tower of power video tutorial. Keep up the great content 👍
Thank you Felix!
Completely agree. No need for anything except a couple standard rapid chargers.
I do like the look of it, but don't need it at all. I would like you to test it because I love numbers. Thanks Vince.
I’m just getting into Milwaukee m18 tools, and picked one of the dual bay chargers up, it made more sense for me to get it over the super charger because it charges two batteries at once.
I didn't know having the rapid charger while its charging out under sun will kill it. My loss😑
if it would work they should make an adapter to charge the m12 on the m18 charger..?
I’m an electrician apprentice and we’re sponsored by Milwaukee, in our work we only use M18 on our job sites so the dual m18 charger is amazing for everyone in our school
Awesome!
Try Bosch GAL 18160 Hell ion is awesome very fast charger.
Always had the understanding that slower charging will prolong the life of the battery
Must be 90 minutes for both batteries else going to buy more single rapid chargers.
Wazzup !!!!!!! Thank you for the info bro 👍🏼
Thanks for the feedback Jon!
NO reason for the high crazy prices for the batteries and chargers. the actual tool I can understand being expensive there is a lot of R and D in them but not the batt and chargers. stupid..
Repeat business.
i never understood why they could not make the rapid charger charge both the M18 & M12 at the same time...no reason for it other than some heat build up...so put a fan in it
Its a no go. Thx for the confirmation. Bad ass vid sir!!!
I find it strange that Milwaukee doesn't have any fans in their chargers??
its cool but it seems to me that Milwaukee made it for that 37% who said they would like it.
Hi Vince,
I purchased the milwaukee 6 bay rapid charger (3) m18 & (3) m12.
Thanks for the video
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with the gang Michael!
