Are you using your iPad Pro primarily in the Magic Keyboard? If so, I’ve found that the MKB is a MAJOR power drain. I expected the keyboard to draw a little power but it drains my iPad really fast, possibly due to the backlit keyboard. In any event, when I take the iPad off the MKB and use it in tablet mode, I get much better battery life. Could your problem be the MKB sucking the life out of your iPP’s battery?

Bought the 11 inch 512 gig and keyboard. Coming from the original iPad Pro this was a great upgrade. Really like the minimalist tech. I got rid of my windows laptop a while ago and haven’t looked back. I’m not a power user by any means. I like to write some and watch vids. I may play a game if one ever interests me but that’s about it. Great device.
🐬 I’m considering getting a magnetic screen protector on a standard screen iPad M4 for my Apple Pencil Pro. I saw the matte screen at the Apple Store and while it did a good job reducing glare, I felt like the colors were muted and less sharp. I wanted to take advantage of the double OLED. I want to be able to enjoy media content on my iPad and then put the screen protector back on for drawing/animation content.
🐬 I appreciate your video and content a lot. Thanks for sharing. To me, the iPad 11 is the more impressive machine because it fits all what the 13 has into a smaller form factor, most importantly including a slightly better battery. A lot of people prefer the 13 because of the bigger screen, making it very similar to a MacBook Air in terms of size and weight despite not being quite there in terms of being a laptop replacement… whereas the 11 is an excellent tablet and offers something no MacBook does, better portability.
Paperlike is going to wear out your apple pencil tip very quickly & in some cases will scratch your screen. The only good thing about Paperlike is being a matte screen protector & thats it. And at that price, i can find a cheaper matte screen protector. Catch my drift? I'm sticking with tempered glass screen protector.
There are downsides to the paper like screen protector. Wears down the tips on the Apple pencils more quickly, the matte screen protectors are less reflective but I watched a video comparing it to the nano texture and the nano texture is HELLA less reflective. The nano texture is far superior, but then again you probably want a screen protector on your iPad unless you’re trynna hit it raw with the Apple Pencil.
Completely agree - my 2022 iPad Pro 11" is downright heavy and uncomfortable compared to the M4 11" Pro. Also, the new one doesn't get as warm as the M2 version.
Appreciate your review. I hope more honest reviews will come soon even under the maker's pressure. To share more, the "top level" OLED on this iPad still uses low frequency PWM (480Hz) even many other phone makers widely use over 1000Hz or 3000Hz. iFixit's latest tear down implies that M4 iPad originally might have 12GB RAM. So does it mean that, Apple just want maximize their profit and ignore real user experiences?
macOS is a HORRIBLE idea for iPads, so I am sick of this generic saying by generally people that don’t even use iPads regularly. I agree that iPadOS needs a BIG update to its files system and using external monitors and SSDs. I want to see more professional apps. One way i could see it meeting more needs is a type of translation software that interprets MacOS programs to iPadOS possibly. Similar to how Rosetta translates Intel programs for MacOS. Edit. I believe that on the 1tb models, we should have a duel boot with MacOS
Legit. All we wanted was Final Cut, Logic Pro, downloads, hooking up external displays accurately, a good multitasking setup for workflow, we’ve had photoshop for years, you already got a full professional production studio all in a small tablet. People always are wanting what’s “better” yet they can’t be grateful for what we already have. They are stuck in 2012 with their poor experiences with the original iPads. I’ve imagined Mac OS for iPad and it would be annoying, tricky to use and make zero difference. Just keep improving iPad OS, my only complaint is I couldn’t download the metaverse workplace app virbella for my job on an iPad but now they moved it to the web which I think means I can now use an iPad for everything besides niche music production things that require the extra RAM
If you actually use MacOS, you would know why. You can download many hundreds or thousands of more apps that have MacOS versions, you can find open source non subscription versions of software that you would have to pay to use on iPads, and you can literally download whatever you want whenever you want. iPad is a waste of processing power for 99% of people. And Samsung Dex is what people want, when you dock an iPad it should become MacOS, simple. That way iPadOS is still what you get when you use it mobile, and then people who want to use it at home to replace a laptop finally can.

I currently have iPad Pro 10.5” 2017 and planning on upgrade soon. Which one to buy, iPad Air M2 13” or iPad Pro M4 11”? Considering the price is similar for the 256gb storage (approx. $1000) and I still need to buy apple pencil as well. I am using it for media & note taking. For heavy use, I still have MBP M1 16 inch
I will say - I am coming from a 2018 A12X iPad Pro and I am noticing the battery life is radically better on the M4 iPad Pro, but can’t speak to the M2 you mentioned.
I like your video. I am going to upgrade my older iPad Pro. I was wondering if you are going to check out some 3rd party keyboards. I have heard good things about the Logitech combo. I am really disappointed to hear that the battery life is below par. I look forward to hearing any updates on that. Thanks again for your review.
I had the Logitech combo for the 11inch it is really great, however for the case part the rubber around the volume and speakers started to stretch and lift away which then caused it to tear after about a year or two of casual use also as a note paper like has the ability to run your Apple Pencil’s tips down
