Thanks a lot for watching and safe journeys!
Love this video!! We were there some years ago! Such a sad story preserved in time. Was fascinated to learn how they have hot water plumbing way back in those years and how the city was designed in such a way it could never get flooded by rainstorms...brilliant engineering feats for their time. Cheers Gabe.
I'm planning a trip to Pompeii, two days for filming seems too short! A magical place, thanks to videos like yours I know what to expect, great content!✌
Ercolano is nice too and smaller
@@Lorre982 Thanks for the info ;)
Italy is a beautiful country. Every part of it is history ,for me Italy is one of the most beautiful countries in Europe. Thank you very much for this enjoyable trip.
Watching this I feel as though I've been transported momentarily to the ancient world. A truly evocative and beautiful video. Thank you, Gabriel!
I had seen many coverages before, about this historical sites of ancient Pompeii city, but for me this one is exceptionally a sensational and wondering how long does Gabriel had spent a time there to explore this whole Pompeii city.
I visited Pompeii in May 2016 it was amazing to see just reading about it in history and actually being there was mind blowing. I loved Italy we also went to Rome the Coleseum, other sites throughout Rome, Naples and Capri Island so beautiful.
I found Herculaneum fascinating because you can really see all the layers of civilizations that are one on top of one another. Current Naples is the top layer. 75% of Herculaneum is still un discovered and of course much of Pompei is undiscovered. Lots of work still to do!
You have a knack for finding the essential beauty of a place, and now of Pompeii.
Really interesting and we'll researched. Thanks for another great video, Gabriel ☀️
It must have been a beautiful city. Very fascinating place.
Super nice video Gabe
I am not nearly as well traveled as you but I found Pompeii to be the most unique and fascinating place that I have ever visited…How do you rank it?
I am originally from Castellammare Di Stabia a town just a few miles from Pompeii, if you have a chance go and visit, the seafront is amazing. Also Sorrento and many other little towns on the coast are amazing all the way to Amalfi.
Hi, Can you provide the detailed map of campania region of .jpg format?
Absolutely amazing!
Amazing video again. I like the way you focus the camera, like the eye moves. It always gives me the feeling of being where you are.
a wonderful tour of Pompeii. Thank You, I always wanted to see it!
WOW! Amazing! Great post
I went here 5 years ago, this brought back great memories ☺️
the tiling, the intricate art, brickwork all amazing for that period
Truly one of your best videos!!! When I went to Naples, with great regrets, I did not have the time to visit. (Was on a bus tour to the Amalfi coast) Again, great video! Thanks.
Hi. Gabriel. Super Video.. Thanks for this amazing works of you.. Take care of yourself ❤️
great video Gabriel you are inspiring us with your travels again I want to plan a trip to southern Italy now!!!
Pompeii is such an epic site, I was there for a day, but I feel I could have spent like three days walking through all the houses.
Best travel video ever Gabriel ever ever ever!!!
Great video. Been there very interesting site. Nearby Amalfi Coast is simply stunning.
Amazing sights, alot of history, thank you Gabriel 😊
Always look for your comment! I notice you on every video, what a loyal supporter!
Excellent job Gabriel. Thanks, Cheers
Great historical place 👍Phenomenal 👏😁Thanks for sharing ✌😁
Pompeii, like the archeological sites of the pyramids in Egypt are perhaps the most studied in the world. There is a wealth of information that you would've benefited from in a guided tour. For example the separation of the stones on the ground of the streets which you showed at the beginning of the video. They are part of the infra-structure of the city. It reveals the sewage system. You missed the location where prepared food were sold, where people hangout, the brothels (phallus image) and many other interesting locations. These locations are easily identified by a trained eye. Next time please consider a guided tour because it will tell you how people live in Pompeii and who they were. It will not only enhance your knowledge, but will also enlighten those who are followers of your adventures.
Or take a free guided audio tour, I like Rick Steve's, but a lot of times it is just fun to explore on your own. I personally have found that a lot of guides just add in what I call fluff and many want to take you to a commission shop
Excellent work again... keep crawling Gabe awesome!
Very jelly he got to see it on such a beautiful day. When I was there the streets were rivers of rainwater.
I'm amazed by the structures and how they have stand to the tests of time! Greetings from Panamá🤗
Fascinating content !
Another great history lesson, keep on truckin ✌️
Awesome!!!! I was just here back in October and it is the 3rd time I've been! I'd go again in a heartbeat. ;)
Thanks gabriel for showing Pompeii.
Wow I hope to visit some day.
I've always wanted to come here. Nice job 😁
Great video Gabriel of Pompeii was there in October took me about 6 hours to explore all the Pompeii site alot of things weren't open when I went last October like the large theatre and lupanar .when I went there wasnt a metro running from Naples to Pompeii and had to get a bus which took longer .I'm going back to Naples in may in a couple of months but not doing Pompeii this year's going to do the city of Naples never did that last year and a few of the islands of Naples isola and procida .great video Gabriel keep up the good work.
Did you miss the little museum where there was a display of bodies the excavators found? There was adults, children and even a dog! It's easy to miss as it's right at the end of the site from the entry point! And it's absolutely massive place!
So on my bucket list
Hi Gabriel. Love your videos. Very inspiring :)
Sweet, thanks.
Hey Gabriel, what a nice video. Pompeii is on my bucket list and hopefully some day this virus will make it a little easier to get out and then get back into Thailand. I did notice the Doric, Ionic and Corinthian columns, it must have been quiet an interesting place to be before the volcano erupted. I love the Greek and Roman history.
Thank you very good video!
I loved this place. I made a decision to go in the pandemic as to see it without crowds. I didn't realise it was big !! It really was like stepping back in time !!!! Incredible place
this was amazing place, must visit when come
I've been there! I also took a bus from the ruins up to the top of the Volcano. Awesome view
was there in 2019, wonderful place to visit atleast once in a life.
Interesting observations about the bodies being found as moulds within the ash, an all round impressive video thank you.
At 18:05...there was NO arch there...the wagons were able to pass in between the stones and the stones were there so pedestrian could cross during the spring floods. You see the roads were designed to divert flood waters away from the city very efficiently. Cheers.
Cool, thanks for the info.
Incredible 🤟🏽🤙🏽
Thank you Gabriel fore an interesting video from city ruin off Pompai only seen foto in history books 👍😀
I just did Pompeii in July in the middle of one of Italy's worst heat waves in years. Couldn't see everything because it was just too hot and humid. I'll do it in a colder season like you next time LOL. By the way, that Garibaldi station in Napoli is a trip, what a mix of people! One of the great things about exploring Pompeii is Vesuvius looms in the distance in so many views.
Pompeii reminded of my visit to Machu Picchu. Including security keeping a watchful eye on tourists.
I have always wanted to visit Pompeii awesome!
Roman has amazing historic spot. Watching this vlog shows me how Pompei has combination of modern and traditional civilization that we also still use until now like food storage, spa room etc. Unfortunately some all of them broken by volcanic ash and earthquake at that time. Yet I feel grateful could see its rich of knowledge & culture until now. Thank you Uncle Gabriel for the great vlog. 😃👏
Where are you from?
@@sharuk98ala I come from Indonesia
It’s refreshing to watch your peaceful ventures in this world of war and suffering! I guess human history is intertwined with battles and conquers!
wow i didn't know pompeii is still so intact.
We went in the summertime...it was 96 degrees so you could imagine how there was no shade our feet were done hahaha but we walked a lot of it. I don't think people realize just how big Pompeii really is, and there still are a lot of parts that aren't discovered.
Was there end of 2019 just before the disaster. A day trip to Pompeii from Naples was one of the highlights.
Nice trip 👍👍
Mind blowing.😲👍😊
Its so beautiful there 😊
Was just there three months ago.
Make sure you visit Matera, the cave city.
Matera was amazing.
What an amazing video. I didn't frealize Pompeii was that huge. Nice camera work. What an amazing place. Thanks for taking us here. The best to you.
Love the intro music!
Excellent
I loved Pompeii! Really interesting history, beautiful ruins, and some really great pizza right outside the ruin site!
It was a lot bigger than I expected. Bummed I missed Herculaneum, it sounded interesting as well.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos I also missed Herculaneum and thought it sounded awesome! Next time!
It looks like the grooves on the streets were to channel water during rain.
Try to visit Herculaneum too,or hiking/trekking in Mt. Vesuvius
Two thumbs up thx
Nice to finally see you here in Pompeii, Gabriel! However, there is also another very interesting house, lupanare. Maybe not for filming but it is good for looking there. ;)
Good choice of music at 4:00s
Fantastic Gabriel ..which camera you used on this video excellent quality 👍
Pompeii was interesting, when we went it was free entrance, I believe first Sunday every month museums in Italy are free.
WOW!!
Good to see you in Naples.
There is another Roman site closer to Naples. You would have passed it on way out on train. I was told it was potentially even better than Pompei. Certainly less known and a lot less people.
However at the moment not as many folk travelling so much of a muchness.
You should consider yourself lucky to be at pompei at this moment in time. Normally it is swarmed with people. You are like a Royal visitor.
Great video. Looking forward to your next travel adventures.
Thanks. 👍
You might be thinking of Herculaneum. I wanted to go there after Pompeii but this was on a Wednesday and it's closed on Wednesdays.
Hi Gabriel, Those trains look like subways in NYC from the 70's unbelievable. An amazing place Pompeli a testament to Roman concrete the Roman Pantheon is built on this technology just fascinating. The grounds are well kept and look magnificent. You mentioned a phrase that the Romans have fortune favors the brave a phrase now used as cryptocurrency commercial.
Another well-made video, but does anyone else agree that it's hard to get excited about Italy now that there are pasta and pizza restaurants everywhere around the world, and now that every member if the global nouveau riche is adorned with Gucci and its Italian stable-mates? Is Italy suffering from the hangover of its success in the twentieth century, selling itself through an image of bling-y generic sophistication that now stains the whole brand?
Hi Gabriel, I noticed in one of your videos from a few years ago you said that one day you were going to travel the Camino de Santiago. Are you still planning on it? I would love to see that! Thanks for all your videos... I am enjoying them very much :)
I hope everyone watching gets to experience Southern Italy and all that is has to offer....
Great vid., did you get the name of the half horse half human by any chance???
Keepemcoming
I was there these last November and as you say it was incredible. Also, were you able to visit Herculaneum? Fascinating, but I didn't care much for Naples!
I was only there a few weeks ago I also visited Sorrento (lemon calital of Europe) and Positano
Nice, I'll show them both in the next video.
Hey gabriel make sure to visit herculaneum !
Pompeii was one of my favorite sites to visit. Have you been to Herculanium?
He was going to go, but he went on a Wednesday & it was closed. Great video Gabe & so informative :)
@@petercharnley7138 Thanks so much.
@@jaa1015 No problem mate. All the very best :)
The raised stones across the roads are to keep feet out of the sewage water that flowed down the streets.
brightness of phone is too low to understand, otherwise awesome video as usual Gabe
i hear herculaneum is excellent. too bad it was closed. 21:19 i loved how you zoomed in on the top of the column. love your vids , photog and music.
I was there 2019 and look at the video they open new sites since then
Mate that place is definately on my bucket list when i get the old time machine up and running.
Did you consider an escape plan whilst you were there?
Because that volcano will go again sooner or later and as it sits on a magma pocket 154 miles deep, it wont take long to go from coolio to scorchio!
I was in Mgarr in Malta today just checking out the place walked up to a beach and wondered how the heck do I know this place where all the garage like buildings are built into the beach then it dawned on me it was you 🤣🤣 just back in Bugibba where I'm staying and watched the video to prove it . Keep em coming . I was in Pompeii what spot .
Ha, that's freaking awesome. Have a fun time.
Hey Gabriel I’ve made videos covering your videos. Great job on this one, I’ll be covering your evidence on my next show.
Sweet.
✔Been to Naples and Pompeii.
Both very interesting.
Mobility issues are a known cause for the inability to escape burning cinder or a desire to face the numinous.
Fabulosum hoc est spectaculum.
Greetings from Mexico.
I wonder if you checked in the same room that you stayed in when visiting Naples in 2017
Yes, same hotel, just by coincidence.
I was there in February 2002
I was here few years before, glad to return
