    In these Recuerdos de la Alhambra guitar lesson videos we will take on the iconic acoustic guitar piece by Francisco Tarrega.
    Now for those of you who are unfamiliar with this beautiful acoustic instrumental, "Recuerdos de la Alhambra" is by far the most popular classical guitar piece ever written.
    Now don't start thinking, "Hey wait a minute, I don't play classical guitar, so I should skip these Recuerdos de la Alhambra guitar lesson videos...". In reality, a tune like this will be a great study for any player, especially those who play acoustic fingerstyle.
    Don't limit yourself to just classic rock repertoire or blues or whatever. You will be missing out on the huge amount of technical possibilities available to us as guitarists and you will be missing out on a lot of great music as well.
    Having said that, for those who do tackle this beautiful tune you will find it to be a nice challenge. As you will discover in these Recuerdos de la Alhambra guitar lesson videos this piece uses a fingerpicking technique called tremelo which repeats throughout the entire tune.
    Most tunes originally written for classical guitar are only available in standard sheet music including Recuerdos de la Alhambra.
    However, knowing that 99% of guitarists can't read standard sheet music I have taken it upon myself to TAB out the entire tune myself and make it available for download below. Man I am such a nice guy!! :)
    Be sure to grab the PDF because the lesson will be very difficult to follow along with otherwise.
    Have fun with these Recuerdos de la Alhambra guitar lesson videos, and Good Luck!

    Yes (I tell myself)...it is the pinky @8:59 on that "Building up" passage. I see Ana Vidovic use her pinky on that passage. I wasn't sure (you could use the ring finger there too--but I didn't want to get into a bad habit-lol)--..The "Pinky' it is...thank you, very helpful....I'll be back.

    It reads "recuerdos de la alambra", because the h is not pronounced in Spanish language, unless it comes after a c, then it changes the sounds to "ch" as in chicken. Beautiful tutorial! thanks a lot

      Today I actually made it to the very end...it's been years in the making, haha I've done it "on" and "off' last couple years, but it's been more "on" the last couple months. It's not up to speed and still lots of work to be had ...It takes time...But I love it... Good Luck with it, ...there are a lot of repeating parts so it's not the "Monster" I once thought...one section at a time. I spent a lot of time on "Page one". :-)

    Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us, but it would be nice to follow the lesson with the music score. Reading this kind of music on a tab score is just... well... an injustice to music. But it's ok for those that still want to play without going through the pain of learning how to read and interpret music.

    On the measure you are going through @ 05:40 you have the tremolo as an F# for the whole measure but my sheet music shows the tremolo as F# only on the first beat then as an E for the last two beats. Which one is right?

    I've watched your lessons on this piece with interest and I am attempting to claw my way through it. However, try as I might, for some reason, I just cannot work out the timing for those triplets! Whenever I try and play them, they just sound wrong, rhythmically. Do you have any advice on how to count them out before playing them? Many thanks

      Practice with metronome?

    • @davehumphreys1725
      @davehumphreys1725 Год назад

      @@StefanHoffmann84 I do and I have but it doesn't help me to work out the rhythm of those triplets.

    • @StefanHoffmann84
      @StefanHoffmann84 Год назад

      @@davehumphreys1725 You mean the tremolo. They are just 32th notes. Of course this is fast, but starting slow should do the trick. And maybe include the thumb in the ounting, and then count 1-2-3-4.
      This lesson explains it as well:
      ruclips.net/video/sxWivyl98tc/видео.html
      Good luck! Mine isn't perfect btw. still practicing.

    • @davehumphreys1725
      @davehumphreys1725 Год назад

      @@StefanHoffmann84 Just to be clear, it's not the tremolo, its those little triplets that occur [the first one is at 2:40 mins into the video] which I can't work out the timing for.

    • @StefanHoffmann84
      @StefanHoffmann84 Год назад

      @@davehumphreys1725 Ah okay. Yes, that is a triplet. The way he plays it is by hammer on & pull off (also called slur or an ornamentation in classical guitar). Yes, these are difficult to get right. You play p-a-m and then, instead of i, you do the slur.
      Maybe it helps, when practicing, beside practicing slowly and built up speed, to "over accentuate" them. I guess by doing this, you force your mind & body to really focus on that movement. But anyway, you can also play the piece without them, a simplified version so to say, and it still remains a beautiful piece.

    • @GuitarLessons365
      @GuitarLessons365  10 лет назад +4

      ivancfl Yeah me too, but unfortunately 99% of guitarists can't read standard sheet music so if you want to create something that many will learn from, you do the TABS. Just the way it is these days...

    • @GregTorresGuitar
      @GregTorresGuitar 5 лет назад

      What’s the point? You get the same result at the end of the day and because there are more than one place to play the same pitch on the guitar, tab actually helps in that respect so the best solution is Tab with standard notation above it.
