Definitely! I'm learning the technique and I must say that even for me as a proficient folk/blues fingerstyle guitarist I am finding this difficult, to say the least, lol
The Spain portrayed by Recuerdos de la Alhambra was far from peaceful. It was composed to memorise the Decree of the Alhambra which expelled all Jews from Inquisition Spain!
Arguably one of the most beautiful pieces ever written specifically for classical guitar. If you have not been to the Alhambra, make it something to do at least once in your life. The Alhambra is really quite extraordinary.
That right-hand picking is mesmerizing, and Brandon looks like he's in a total flow state playing this piece. A beautiful and engrossing performance--bravo!
I played this for my guitar recital to graduate as part of my repertoire. This was the only piece I felt a close connection with simply because of how beautifully it was composed. To me, the transitions from minor to major throughout the piece portrays the ups and downs in life with the tremolo being the constant and continuous breaths that we take. And last but not the least, the piece ends on a "major key"(positivity prevails) . Tarrega was a Legend.
Where it changes from minor to major at 1:40 he pauses. I have always wanted to hear it played this way. Most performers slash right through this transition with little or no tempo change: I hate that. Thank you Brandon.

Just WOW ... four reasons: one: here, you prove your advice on an even tremolo. Two: you overcome the fretboard to produce an always legato, easily separated, melody line in both voices; three--What flow! ... no discernible position sound breaks! Three: the thumb/bass line stands so clear. And four: the treble then becomes so easy to listen to, separately and harmonically. Okay, and five: your (if-I-dare) rubato endows greatness to the piece that I've always hoped for. WOW, bravo! . . . .
I have listened to hundreds of different versions of this song, and I can only say that this is one of if not the greatest performance I've ever heard. Of the 500+ times I've listened to it, each time I can never get through the song without saying, "Such a master."

The tremolo is beautiful but if you listen to the arpeggio of the thumb, you'll understand what separates a top tier guitarist like this young man from the lesser guitarists. He ties it all in together beautifully and harmoniously.
One instrument and a divine player. Shows what we've truly missed in the era of DAWs and synthesized music, without any soul. Brandon is our figurative lodestar who shows what great music from the far ages is truly the panacea to our yearning soul.. Brandon is truly doing God's work here.
the sound coming from your beautiful guitar,,, its like a continious flowing of water from the fountain,,, what a magical sound......... this is true music...... comes from the heart.....
I've not yet been to Spain, but I feel like this piece beautifully and perfectly encapsulates what it's like to take a stroll through its ancient towns or its breathtaking countryside.
i close my eyes and i can see gaudi's pinnacles spiraling to the sky; the plains of andalusia and its horses running distant; the sun rising behind a villa overlooking the Mediterranean sea.
The way that Spaniards play the guitar is unique, for the simple fact that they don't play the guitar with their hands, they play it with their heart, and when one begins to learn to play the Spanish guitar, it is understood. You not only have to learn to touch it, but to understand it as if it were part of your body. A great greeting from a Spaniard, a very good video with a lot of passion !! I recommend that you see a lot of Paco de Lucia, the greatest guitarist there has been on earth at a level higher than anyone you can ever see. Greetings and blessings!
Tremolo is possibly the single greatest technique on Classical guitar. But, also the hardest to learn! To master Tremolo playing like this, is deservedly earned!
This is by far the best version i have seen! Not just flawless technique, but also great dynamics. He truly masters how and when to play louder and when to play gentle. He finds the perfect balance. This is very difficult and is overlooked by many musicians. This is in my opinion one key to what makes this guy world class! Phenomenal, phenomenal playing man!
I come back to this video almost every other day. I see other people playing the same piece, but none gets close to perfection like Brandon Acker does. It's simply perfect 💗
I'm listening to your interpretation and I feel like my mind travels around the world, crosses the universe and falls into a parallel dimension. I'm lost in the world you have created with your guitar and I could stay here for centuries. Thank you so much. Sorry if my english is bad, I'm french. Have a good day !
Wow! Mike Oldfield's "Killing Fields" is a straight down copy-paste of this song! Fantastic playing by the way. Really low how dynamic and sensitive you play(Although I'm a keyboard player I can recognize great musicians when they play with great "feel")! Extremely good!
Beautiful sir...you made me learn guitar again...I have started practicing tremolo now..your video and playing way motivated me to learn this music piece.
I recorded this beauty off the radio 8 years ago never knowing the artist or song name. Just tonight, a wonderful classical guitarist informed me and I was able to find this song.
Thank you very much for this interpretation... Is one of the few pieces that I can recall my father, who passed away 1 1/2 years ago, playing... Thank you!
Way to go Brandon. Imagine sitting in your hillside villa and writing this breathtakingly beautiful piece. Wow! Probably the last thing he ever wrote. How could you do better?
The gentle dance between left and right hands, the perfect symbiosis of the couple's feet as they compose their final dance together. The vulnerable notes, the strength of years create a perfect marriage of movement. And when they are done, there is just silence. Stunning.
I guess you come directly from Heaven, dear friend ... because only a very special, unique Heavenly Creature could play the way you do ... I can't even imagine how much beauty you have inside ... my eyes are full of tears ... I feel unlimited gratitude and love, thank you so, so much ...
I attended a boarding school for gifted kids in my youth and my roommate was a musical prodigy that knew all these beautiful classical pieces and always seem to win all the school talent competitions. He practiced every day and so he inspired me to get my first guitar and learn. He was only 14 years old but was willing to teach me. I played until my fingers bled and I eventually developed the callouses like him. He taught my fist piece (Bouree In E Minor by Bach), I eventually went on to learn “Recuerdos de la Alhambra” when I fell in love with the piece on the very first listen. Such a haunting but beautiful melody, a moderately difficult piece due to the tremolo technique but I persisted and developed the intuition and rhythm 🎵 for it. Well that was over 40 years ago and I don’t play as much these days but I still know this piece today by heart and never lost my fascination with it.
I've listened to this piece many times and from different guitarists. This is by far my favorite rendition, I started to learn this piece because of this video
I've been a bit overwhelmed with work and life in general recently. In days like these it's so good to have little places where you can find comfort. I knew I'd find it here, by this hauntingly beautiful piece and your impeccable playing. Thank you so much!
Wow, I’m speechless! Brandon, this piece has been my favorite all my life. I have listened to so many great masters playing it, but this is the first time I‘ve been able to actually “hear” emotions emanating from the guitar. Outstanding. My highest admiration and respects to you. Thank you.
Very clean Tremelo. In my opinion the best version of requerdos de la Alhambra. I keep listening to him playing this. Now...2 years later...i am slowly starting to play this piece of music with the help of this guy free Tremelo lessons as a left-handed playing Right-handed on my Alhambra C3
I have been working on this song for a little over a month now and your performance I feel is unattainable. The tone in your bass is so soft and subtle but yet the tremolo melody is too. I struggle with evenness in this piece. Either my bass is too strong or melody is too overpowering. I love your tremolo tutorials, I just have to be patient I suppose. I keep coming back to this for continual inspiration. I have obsessed over watching nearly every performance of this song possible and this is by far the easiest most soothing listen.
Ditto! I started this last week. I found Pepe Romero's tutorial very helpful, a student posted his 1-1 session with Romero, the lesson is on this very piece!. Here's the link, & good luck to you! ruclips.net/video/anVYoFr5644/видео.html
What a lovely melody. I could listen to it over and over again all night long. You play it with such tenderness, such soul, such gusto. Impressive and Moving. How fortunate you are to play so well. What a talent. Congratulations.
I first heard this song in high school when I found some guy on the early days of the internet playing it. It gave me goosebumps then and to this day it still does.

One instrument and a divine player. Shows what we've truly missed in the era of DAWs and synthesized music, without any soul. Brandon is our figurative lodestar who shows what great music from the far ages is truly the panacea to our yearning soul.. Brandon is truly doing God's work here.
I started playing the classical guitar after seeing you perform this piece!
the sound coming from your beautiful guitar,,, its like a continious flowing of water from the fountain,,, what a magical sound......... this is true music...... comes from the heart.....
Truly one of the greatest pieces ever written for guitar. A subtle sense of longing for the past, with a bright tone to look towards the future.
I've not yet been to Spain, but I feel like this piece beautifully and perfectly encapsulates what it's like to take a stroll through its ancient towns or its breathtaking countryside.
Also listen to Buckethead - Sketches of Spain (For Miles)
Indeed, and more precisely strolling across the gardens and courtyards of the Alhambra and hearing the gentle noise of the many fountains ...
I've never been to Spain, but I kinda like the music
i close my eyes and i can see gaudi's pinnacles spiraling to the sky; the plains of andalusia and its horses running distant; the sun rising behind a villa overlooking the Mediterranean sea.
The dynamics make this performance stand out so much
This performance has really made me cry… so touching, so clean, so beautiful.. .simply perfect… thx
I come back to this video almost every other day. I see other people playing the same piece, but none gets close to perfection like Brandon Acker does. It's simply perfect 💗
Absolute best classical guitar content in the world. Hands down. Congratulations. Never stop.
This interpretation is simply sublime
Saludos desde Granada. Amo la guitarra clásica. Recuerdos de la Alhambra, del maestro Francisco Tárrega. 🇪🇸💃💃💃💃💞
I'm listening to your interpretation and I feel like my mind travels around the world, crosses the universe and falls into a parallel dimension. I'm lost in the world you have created with your guitar and I could stay here for centuries. Thank you so much. Sorry if my english is bad, I'm french. Have a good day !
Must be the most beautiful guitar piece ever.
Wow! Mike Oldfield's "Killing Fields" is a straight down copy-paste of this song!
Fantastic playing by the way. Really low how dynamic and sensitive you play(Although I'm a keyboard player I can recognize great musicians when they play with great "feel")! Extremely good!
Thank you for bringing me back this memory, my, friend, my grandfather used to play it, to set me to sleep!
Beautiful sir...you made me learn guitar again...I have started practicing tremolo now..your video and playing way motivated me to learn this music piece.
Happy to see your reply sir..thanks for motivating us
I recorded this beauty off the radio 8 years ago never knowing the artist or song name. Just tonight, a wonderful classical guitarist informed me and I was able to find this song.
you need shazam
Thank you very much for this interpretation... Is one of the few pieces that I can recall my father, who passed away 1 1/2 years ago, playing... Thank you!
Way to go Brandon. Imagine sitting in your hillside villa and writing this breathtakingly beautiful piece. Wow! Probably the last thing he ever wrote. How could you do better?
The gentle dance between left and right hands, the perfect symbiosis of the couple's feet as they compose their final dance together. The vulnerable notes, the strength of years create a perfect marriage of movement. And when they are done, there is just silence. Stunning.
Thank you for the beautiful music; a true gift ♥️
Thank you, Joshua! Happy holidays 🎄
So good!!! The music, scenery, camera angles and timing. Always so inspiring!
I guess you come directly from Heaven, dear friend ... because only a very special, unique Heavenly Creature could play the way you do ... I can't even imagine how much beauty you have inside ... my eyes are full of tears ... I feel unlimited gratitude and love, thank you so, so much ...
I do not tire of watching and listening to this guy play. Many guitarists play this well, but I particularly like his interpretation.
I hope you'll get through this period of stress and find more balance.
Wow, I’m speechless! Brandon, this piece has been my favorite all my life. I have listened to so many great masters playing it, but this is the first time I‘ve been able to actually “hear” emotions emanating from the guitar. Outstanding. My highest admiration and respects to you.
Thank you.
The pace of your rendition makes me feel comfortable as I listen to this masterful piece.
The most beautiful piece of guitar ever, brings tears to my eyes, hauntingly captivating.
First heard it played by the great John Williams on of all programs the Les Dawson show.
One of the best recordings I have heard of this beautiful melody. Thank you You Tube!
The tremolo is perfectly fluid. Gorgeous, Brandon!
10 months practising it... and I'm more and more realizing how this song is pure genius, Tarrega is a beast !
This is my favorite rendition of this song on the 'Tube. Beautiful dynamics and tone. And what a song it is! :)
OMG ....... I've been listening to this on repeat for four hours. MIND BLOWN!
What a beautiful piece of music and played masterfully. Bravo Brandon.
Best version of this beautiful piece on internet. thank you.
Brandon you're simply amazing, I can't stop watching your videos.
Having played this before i think the slow transition from A to A minor at 3:02 was the most inspiring part for me thank you!
Many people can play this, fewer can REALLY play it. You are one of them. Amazing.
Here's the link, & good luck to you!

respect to still liking comments after the video has been out for years lol, dont see that too often. great playing as always
Tarrega was a genius and you play this beautifully. Thank you for posting.
It gave me goosebumps then and to this day it still does.
this is epic dude, nicely done.
This is one of the most beautiful guitar pieces I listened in my life.
Probably the most beautiful interpretation of Alhambra I've ever heard. Inspiring!
Puts me into a trance state-I could just float away on this beautifully played piece.
