i watched this 4 years ago as a guitar noob.. now i have developed more skills and listened to it again and noticed the minor 'mistakes'.. which is in all, is okay, its just when you have the ear you just cant unhear.. its ok though this is a difficult and very technical.. still a 10/10 performance.. 👍
My 20yr old son passed away on 08/13/2019 and we had to wait for his recipients to arrive for the transplants. That was a 2 day wait but in the mean time I stayed with him playing a selection of music. This piece was one of them and the most memorable. Thank you, I appreciate everything that you do.
That's tragic, Im sorry for your loss. 🙏
May the Lord have him in his glory
Very sorry to hear this, he was lucky to have you

my condolences to you and you family sir. may your son rest in peace.

I don't know if it's just me but there's something so comforting in listening to pure classical music while going through tough times. It's almost like the music sympathizes with you like nothing else could.

This man, this legend, even when he makes a mistake, has the courage to keep going. A skill I must learn at heart.
there is difference between performance mode and practice mode.
when you are in practice mode if you make a mistake, you go back and practice that part until its clean
when you are in performance mode, you must continue without flinching. you are boudn to make a mistake sometimes while performing.
skill is just to keep going like nothing happened.
most of the time audience doesnt even realises the mistake
Also like to add, he seems to be a great guy, aprochable. Like if you had a question and saw him on the street he would be polite and answer you?
He makes mistakes? XD

For many decades I have collected and seen in concert the greatest guitarist of the 20th century (Segovia, Bream, Williams, Lagoya, Yepez, Barruecos, etc.) as well as many other renown virtuoso guitarist and lutenist to the point that I mistakenly though that I have heard everything until I listened to your playing. Your breathtaking interpretations refreshes my senses and re-spark the feeling I felt when I listened to Segovia for the first time and motivated me to play as well. Thank you for re-energizing us and the guitar repertoire with your talent, musicianship and very thought out lessons. I also appreciate your dedication to early music instruments that makes you a very round and balance musician.

Indeed! I would say him and Marcin Dyla have by far one of the best interpretations. Ofcourse Lucas Bar jazzy interpretations are amazing but outside canon and Lucas Imbriba with fingerstyle makes my guitarist list complete. An then there is Charles Berthoud on bass together with Victor Wooten.
Many years ago i bought an Album of Segovia. I listen to others when i can, but got stopped in my tracts hearing Brian. You are my heart in classic guitar. Manny thanks to RUclips for seing the best and the sound, FANTASTIC!!
Simply the best Chopin guitar performance I have ever seen and heard. Congratulations.
Your notes have such great attack. Tone is very solid, you play very relaxed and fluid, no wasted energy. Such a wonderful talent. Thanks for this piece. Keep making more music!
So admire you for learning this. It was written on and for piano and the transposition must've been quite difficult. Great job, beautiful piece.
Many transposed transcripts exist for guitar now.
Actually Francisco Tárrega (one of the best [if not the best] classical guitar composers) transcribed this one and other piano pieces, but they're pretty rare to find.
Tarrega transcribed this and a number of other Chopin pieces for guitar. In addition to being one of the most celebrated guitarists of his era, Tarrega himself was also a pianist, and was himself influenced by Chopin.
@@jgrossma I was only able to find the first part of the piece arranged by tarrega. he did not trascribed the entire thing
@@alelaera13 he did transcribed the entire piece, but most of his transcriptions either got lost in time or they're just stored in a private collection
Chopin on guitar is just a dream come true. 🙌
This piece is hard to play on guitar. I have been attempting for YEARS and even on my best day I don't come anywhere close to sounding even remotely this good. Respect!
Try harder. But years, really?
It's actually not that difficult as long as your goal was just to be able to play it decently and you are not recreating the guitar arrangement yourself.
@@nofanfelani6924 I understand what you mean but I have physical disabilities that make playing guitar, and music in general, harder than usual. One example is that my hand is too small to reach many of the finger positions necessary to play this piece fluidly.

Andreas Segovia once said he would never attempt to play Chopin because he didn't think his music could be played on guitar.
You succeeded in doing what Segovia thought was impossible.
You know sometimes you find a piece of music played by someone and when you hear it , it just soothes your soul and make you feel good to be alive , that's the feeling I get from this guy's music.

I totally agree.
it depends on piano model and who plays, and the quality of the recording tbh. there aren't really any quality recordings out there

I have heard several guitar interpretations of this amazing piece but none approaching the ambition of this one to truly convey the work as intended. And so beautifully played! I think Chopin would be pleased.

Awesome performance. I have been playing guitar for 60 years, twice your age. I respect your and admire your command of the guitar. I know how difficult it must have been to learn that beautiful song.

The fact that man can compose such beautiful music, yet can beat each others brains in, makes it such a strange and unique species.
I used to love playing romantic music on the piano. I’ve played this piece many times. Eventually I fell out of love with Classcal / Romantic and fell in love with the music of Bach. But hearing Chopin on the guitar I’m again a fan. I think this music pairs so well with your instrument and your playing.
An exquisite piece of tender music played by a gentle virtuoso. Thanks Brandon.

This has always been one of my favorite piano pieces. It's crazy hearing this same piece being played on a guitar, you've even got the cadence down and everything. Keep up the good work, man! Seeing people do what you do inspires me to keep working on music myself. :)

I first fell in love with classical music and piano because of Chopin. I am now in love with the classical guitar and started playing because of your videos 👍
First time hearing a Chopin Nocturne on classical guitar. For sure, for me this sounds otherworldy on Piano but that guitar can go so close is probably only possible by Brandon! Thank you for doing this. Also, I have no doubt that it is at least 10 times harder to play well on guitar.
