Thank you for all your comments - I'm reading them all, but currently only have 4 days left of holiday (sads 😢) so don't have time for replies at the moment. I have taken a TONNE of photos, as well as video, so you can look forward to some exotic (for me) sights over the coming weeks. Next week will be a short one to reveal where we are (I only have 1 day to put it together after we get home 😁), then there will be several weeks of LOTS of different locations! I will also do a follow up video to this at some point, about what gear I did and didn't use (yes, I'm definitely a person whose impulse is to take everything "just in case" 😄) and some other thoughts I have on photography while travelling, and just photography in general that travelling has made me notice. I hope you're all well!
Holidays are so exciting, but packing for them can be a challenge, particularly when you take as much camera and video gear as me! 🤣 Any guesses as to where we're going? (anyone who knows, sshhhhhh 😁)
Great to see the prep. You do well to have all that you're pulling together for a trip. Seems very organised. I'm looking forward to seeing where you ended up going and what you've been able to enjoy. Holidays are wonderful!
I will guess you are going to new zealand. Also take time to enjoy the present. I tend to get caught up in a vlog moment and then you cant be present. Safe travels guys!
As someone that owns way too many cameras and lenses I have learned the hard way that too many choices only slow you down and inhibit your shooting and fun. Anymore I bring two different bodies and 2 lenses for each body. There are times that I bring more of everything but only when I'm staying closer to home. I know that I'm not a vlogger so I don't need those cameras and lenses but I have learned that less is more.
Hi Lisa, Always exiting heading off overseas on a holiday. I hope you and Danny have a great time. Looking at all the camera gear going into your carry on luggage, I wonder how close to or over the weight limit you are, it’s usually around 7kgs.
Looks like you have all of the bases covered! I have that sound issue with my GoPro Hero 5 black. It is so very aggravating and makes editing a pain. Have a safe trip! I'm looking forward to seeing where you land!
Lisa I have reduced my kit to two lenses a 16-50 2.8 and a 55-300 4.5 - 6.3 . One monopod and a Sirui T00KKX travel tripod extremly light weight tripod. For video i have a Fimi Palm 2 gimble head video camera i will going to a Delorean car show a rally tomorrow and this will be my setup
Hope you had/are having a great time on holidays, Lisa. I also have an f-stop backpack, and the tip about removing the camera cube is one I'm grateful for - it would never have occurred to me. I look forward to your return. Incidentally, I have lots of bits and pieces like Allen keys, headlamp, camera charger, filter wrenches, gloves, etc - things I'd like to have with me, but not take in my backpack - so I bought a toiletries bag from AliExpress and everything fits inside.
A toiletries bag is a great idea, with all the little compartments, and them being clear...I think I'm going to have to borrow that! Glad the cube idea was useful - I just can't carry that much weight on my back for long, so being able to wheel it around works perfect! Thanks so much Mick, we had a wonderful time!
@@LisaFrostPhoto really pleased for you and Danny, Lisa. My guess that you were going to New Zealnd was only out by a little bit...in astronomical terms.😉
Hey Ms. Lisa! (And Danny.) (I hope he didn’t mind that he was just a parenthetical thought!) You have WAY TOO MUCH STUFF! I’m at a motel in KY getting ready to set up for a gig at my oldest son’s place. It’s a music gig, not a photo one, and I bring too much stuff with me for music gigs too! I’m not sure if you are traveling across The Big Pond to the U.S. but if you are I’d guess you’re heading to one of the National Parks. Safe travels and I look forward to your next video!

Wherever you are going, I hope you and Danny have a wonderful time. I know you will have some great photos and videos to share with us.
Happy landings - wherever that may be guys!
Look forward to seeing your vids as and when.
Take care and be safe✌️❤️
Have a great holiday you two, I will be watching 🏖

My guess is south-east Asia, or perhaps Un Zud. (Thinking about your mention of exotic birdlife.)
How exciting! Looking forward to see where you went and how it all turned out. Hope the neck is better too!

Have a nice trip! 😉😊
That's quite a lot of gear. Did you use it all. Hope the trip goes well and stay safe.
